We gave it a 9, with an explanation required. It suited our needs perfectly, and we spent 4 nights here. We (33 footer) had a back in, gravel, level, wooded site overlooking a meadow and Crystal Lake. It was beautiful. Our water, electric, cable and sewer worked fine. We paid a few dollars extra for Wi-Fi (included in the quoted rate), which also worked fine. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Now the explanation. As modern RV parks go, some things were kind of primitive. There were no restroom, shower or laundry facilities. We didn't need those facilities and knew they were not here going in, so we did not lower our rating because of that. There are quite a few long term rigs. It was quiet and peaceful. We would stay again. - RVLive

Aug 2016 - $42.00
Our two families stayed the weekend of the 12 Aug 2016. I found the campground to be very well groomed, clean, and nice large lots. Unfortunately, it lightly rained Fri and Sat. Fri night the event was Bingo which was well attended. Sat was the Pirate treasure hunt for the children. I found that after the treasure hunt, there was no further events that day for either children or adults. We had 4 children aged 7-14 and they were slightly disappointed. We all felt that even with the on and off rain, there could have been Pirate movies in the hall, or other events. We decided to go to the local fair and do a bit of shopping. The Camp store and snack bar were well stocked and the prices were really good. The Ice Cream cones were a very good deal. Only drawback was the store and snack bar closed at 7:00 pm on the weekends. Staff were knowledgeable, polite and extremely friendly. A little more attention to events by the owners would make this an outstanding campground with a lot to keep the adults and children alike, entertained. On a good note, the pools, shuffle board, water slides and water park gave us all options to enjoy the outdoor activities. - Roadrunner62
Aug 2016 - $43.00
Very well maintained, kids activities, pools and watersides, very personable owners and seasonals. Lots of big rigs, but a few small TTs. - Lil Clipper
Aug 2015 - $42.00
This campground is great for families! They always have fun activities going on for kids and adults alike. The amenities are very nice - 2 swimming pools, hot tub, water slides for the kids, ice cream shop (yummy) and a ride on the firetruck ever Saturday morning. Though I'm not a fan of the rule, the people staying with you needs to be immediate family. Being a single person with no kids the owners were wonderful about making the exception and apologized when they charged my friend when she and her kids came to stay with me. They also provided her a full refund and stated "we will remember you for the next time to ensure this doesn't happen." I certainly plan on scheduling a trip or 2 back to Tree Corners for the summer of 2016! - Midnight914

This is a good campground for a beautiful view of Lake Willoughby. Best if you can get one of the sites right up front in the first row. Beach across the street and boat ramp. We have been going each summer for a week over the past 10 years or so. Keep going back. - Dick C
Jul 2008 - $30.00
This is a nice but small campground with a beautiful view from the premium sites up front of Lake Willoughby. Canoe and kayak rentals are available. - Dick C

Jul 2018 - $45.00
This campground is occupied by mostly seasonal and local Transients. Noticed most RV's were in good shape. Found everyone respectful. Overall campground is well maintained and recent upgrades are noticeable. Noticed lots of open newer sites that can accommodate the larger RV's. Geography of the campground is mostly open with some wooded areas. Roads are either packed stone or pavement and seem to be in good shape. Most sites we noticed looked level and were back in with crushed stone. Bathrooms & showers were clean and updated. We used this campground as a stop before going into Canada which worked out well. Staff was professional, friendly. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Our full hookups were in good working order. Camp store was well stocked. We enjoyed this campground and would return or recommend this place to anyone. - mdcamping
Aug 2017 - $40.00
Beautiful location walking distance to Lake Salem. Took my 3 grandsons camping while Mom was in the hospital with new baby sister and Dad and Papa were installing new floors for Mom. The staff is so friendly and helpful and on site. Told me when we checked in if after hours come to her site anytime. Park is manicured! Beautiful pool, rec area, two great playgrounds for kids, horseshoe pits. Wooded and open area. The Bathroom/ shower and laundry area was super clean. Nice open area to read or play table games adjacent to laundry. Very quiet, peaceful setting. Some sites offer a view of the lake. Camp store was well stocked with essentials, reasonable priced. Showers are metered at $1.50, but I didn't mind since they were beautiful tiled showers that looked more like a hotel then campgrounds. I was able to use cell to text, not a strong signal at site. Not sure about Wi-Fi. I turn off my roaming & data since we occasionally ping off of Canada in this area. Really enjoyed the stay and my grandsons wanted to stay an extra night. - abuelita2jnj

Huge triple-wide spaces with great views of town and spots right on the lake. Less than a mile from downtown with beautiful scenery in the area. There is also a Walmart and Shaws about 3 miles away. - Millermw
Jul 2015 - $41.00
Sites overlook the lake, and are wide and clean. Full hook-ups every site. - epoux
Sep 2014 - $37.00
Clean restrooms with both soap and paper towels. But the showerheads are the tiny, misting type. The only on-air TV station broadcasts in French. - luminary110

Great people, great new location. Small on size, large on personality. Tucked in the middle of nowhere. If you want an amusement park, this is not the place but it is the place that is near many attractions and just a great place to spend time. Very clean. Very large private sites. THIS is camping. - tyandow

Jul 2016 - $34.00
What a great campground, very spacious sites, good wifi, owner was absolutely wonderful, always checking to make sure everything was going fine and we didn't need anything. Perfect place to stay with dogs, big open field to let them run off leash and trails into the woods along a stream for them to swim. Only drawback is that only a limited number of sites have sewer. - DoodleMom
Oct 2015 - $19.00
Pricing reflects PA discount available Sunday through Thursday. We had planned to stay here 4 nights but ended up staying 8 partly because of the very helpful owner, strong free WiFi, fair pricing and (finally!) the appearance of some nice fall colors. The owner really makes an effort to keep the park looking nice, the restroom clean and everything working as it should. Newport Vermont, the closest good-size town, sits about 23 miles to the north on the shores of Lake Memphremagog-the majority of which lays in Quebec, Canada. Not all RV sites have sewer but Mark is hoping to remedy this in the near future. If you don't get a sewer site they will even loan you a blue tote. We opted for a site (#3) that didn't have sewer because it was huge and backed up to a nice creek, which our black lab enjoyed. Our AT&T phones worked well and there was no problem getting DirecTV. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful park. - Camera Buff
Jul 2015 - $19.00
Still an excellent campground for a relaxing stay. Mark is a wonderful host, full of suggestions for touring the area. Baths are small but well-maintained. Single washer and dryer. Only a few sites with sewer hookup. Grass sites with some shade. Antenna no problem. Good AT&T service. Lots to do in the area (Newport & Derby Line, Jay Peak). A little highway noise. - Rod n Mary

Sep 2013 - $30.00
Yet another relaxing, beautiful stay at Hazens Notch Campground. Stayed there 3 nights over Labor Day weekend and had a very relaxing time. Quiet and peaceful. My wife and I had a great campfire where we watched the stars for hours. In the morning of the last day we discovered a deer fawn had slept nestled under the back of our our trailer to get out of the rain and munched wild apples. What could be better than that. We are already looking forward to camping there again! The owner helped my sister in law back her camper in because her husband was at work. He made sure everything was taken care of and even came by later to see if we needed anything. - set182
Jul 2013 - $25.00
What a beautiful diamond in the rough. The views are spectacular from the top of Hazen's Notch Mountain! The owner does a great job with this small campground and is a wonderful host. We stayed 4 nights during a charity event called Bare Bones and had a blast! It is great place to hide away as there is no cell service. You can just DE-stress because there is no Wi-fi or TV to stress you out with the evening news or emails and phone calls. Nice sites with trees and open sites, but there is a limited number of sites with full hookups, so if you plan to go, you should call ahead to to check if they are available. If you ride a motorcycle, as we do, the surrounding area of the North East Kingdom is beautiful to ride through, and a trip around Lake Willoughby is a must. We plan on staying again over the Labor Day weekend and again and again! - set182

Jul 2018 - $55.00
Super nice lake. We had a site on the beach. Very small. Our awning was pretty much on the next site. That tells you how small the site are. No place to throw our garbage. We have to pay for a garbage bag. They accept dogs but are not dog friendly. No place for the dog to swim anywhere Dog walk path are outside the site. Owner are not friendly either. - soucy
Jul 2017 - $55.00
For the worst experience! We reserved our site and after five hours of driving we learned that they gave our site away. After talking to the owner manager we had two options take a lesser site that I could not fit in or get my money back. This is not a Big Rig friendly RV park no matter what the woman at the front desk tells you. This is a crowded and minimally maintained park. The roads are very tight and the seasonals take up the rest. The pull through sites have obstacles, i.e., stumps, burred fire pits, utility poles. - JCMC
Jul 2015 - $50.00
Newly improved wi-fi at every site worked well. Beach-front campsite was convenient and much appreciated. Campground staff were friendly and helpful. Camp store had good variety of goods at reasonable prices. Campsites were somewhat small and had little shade, but were close to level and had water, electricity, and sewer. Some seasonal campers and/or guests were somewhat intrusive by using beach immediately in back of our camper (rather than in back of their own and/or their host).
This is a great place to kayak and/or fish. Two eagles and several loons were seen on most days. The town is charming and can be reached even by walking from the campground. The restaurant is quite good despite its simple appearance and is a very good value (and has clean restrooms). There are free summer concerts on Friday nights near the restaurant & town landing in the center of town. Fourth Of July offers considerable activities. The lake offers rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, and walleye pike. Nearby Brighton State Park offers largemouth bass and pickerel in its Spectacle Pond. Expect to use your own camper shower. There is no broadcast TV at the campground (unless you have a satellite receiver and subscription service). Local country/western radio station also offers news and weather reports. - Aracz

This is a no-hookup park. The sites along Spectacle Pond were close, accessed by a steep one lane road. Sites were shaded, and some had direct access to the pond for kayaks and canoes. We would stay here again. - Jay Rutherford
Jun 2006 - $20.00
This is a no hook-up state park in NE Vermont. We had site #57 which was large enough for our 30 ft class A but with a downhill entrance and not level at the bottom of the site. Some sites were more level, many had uphill approaches. There is private land to one side but the next campsite is quite close. We pulled straight in to get a very nice view of Spectacle Pond. There is a small, rough path beaten through the bushes to give you a tiny bit of water access from the site. The mosquitos were ferocious. The roads into the camping loops were dirt, quite narrow and rutted in spots. Trees branches encroached onto the road especially after two days of constant rain but the branches that hit the RV were pretty pliable. The park also has lean-to's and cabins. Bathhouses are not heated but you can get a 5 minute shower for a quarter (advertised as hot). The little town of Island Pond is small but nice and has a decent grocery. We also drove the moose loop (105/114/102) early one morning; we only saw one small moose but is was a beautiful drive. It's hard to be completely objective about a campground when the weather is completely lousy but this campground is not particularly well suited for even small class A motorhomes. - mahaffee
Jul 2004 - $16.00
This is a nice state park. We only spent the night but the employees were very nice and helpful. There is a small lake with a campers beach with fishing. There is also a dump station. - Donna P
