What a very pleasant surprise! When we saw the first signage to Prospect Mountain Ski we were a little concerned, but we followed the road up to the Greenwood Lodge/Campground's registration office and saw the beauty in this gem of a park. There are two nice ponds on the property with use of their canoes "free," as well as they supply the life jackets. The sites are spaciously spread apart, many separated by trees/shrubs offering privacy, although we chose a site more in the open. The WiFi was very strong much better than most campgrounds we stay at that advertise WiFi, but usually do not have good, strong connections. This campground is remote, heavily wooded area, yet very good WiFi - Bill & Karen Smith

Can't add too much to the last couple of reviews. This is a beautiful location and great spot for a quiet getaway. CAUTION, do not follow GPS for turn off of route 9. They will give you instructions when you make reservations. If you exit Route 9 onto Greenwood (their address) you will not be happy if you have anything bigger than a pop up. - mroswell

This campground is in the country where it is quiet and peaceful....our site was very shady, level and had privacy from the next site....electric and water were good, no sewers but easy to get to dump station....the owners are very friendly and helpful...we had no ATT cell service but had decent WiFi....got a few over the air tv channels....beautiful location for visiting the surrounding area, a lot of shopping and good places to eat...shower and restrooms are in the main building, they are small but manageable....they have sites that are open next to a lake but we choose the woods....we would stay here again.... - smoky40

Cute place, it's kept clean and they are nice people. We booked a 3 night stay for Columbus Day weekend to enjoy the leaves in Vermont. The back in parking for our new Class C motor home was easy but seemed really close to the popup next to us. But we knew that's a big leaf watching weekend for Vermonters to grab at tourist dollars, and a lot of RV's would start showing up. No problem! But it then went from being cute to lousy because we realized that we were packed in VERY close together and that our pop up neighbor's awning was virtually overhanging "our" site's sewer trap! And then we discovered that our extended awning did nearly the same thing over the sewer trap on the passenger side site! Sure enough, a Class A backed in and hooked up on top of us and we got a powerful whiff under our awning and had to go inside and close the windows. That's just GROSS! The entire sewer system in the campground backed up and failed completely by 8pm, just as it started to rain nice and hard, so no one was allowed to use any sewer hookups in the campground or even use the restrooms in the campground on Friday night! That's no problem for self-contained rigs, but it's not so fine for many popups and we felt bad for the folks behind us. We left early the next morning, found a much nicer place in New York and did not and will not ever return to Pine Hollow. I understand that the campground's sewer issue may not have been foreseeable, but in reality it likely failed because it was taxed far beyond it's intended capacity in the first place. We booked our stay months in advance, drove many hours to get there and we certainly did not expect to be sardined like that. My wife says it felt like we were in a migrant camp scene from the old movie, The Grapes of Wrath. I was embarrassed I brought her there, on this her first real getaway in our new RV. Some first impression. Sorry folks, this in not the type of RV camping we signed up for. - Headnout

Follow several winding roads to this family-owned and managed park. The center attraction is a small pond. Smaller RVs and tents can camp right at the water's edge. Other sites are nestled in the trees, some widely spaced, many side-by-side. The bath house is clean but ancient. - rfmscat

Love this small park. A little off the beaten path. Nice lady in the office. Great backin site. Second time here. Would stay again. Can't remember my site # - milodog

For $20 per night - no water, electric or sewer at site. Gravel road and uneven gravel sites also very close together. Bath had only cold water sink, no way to dry hands, shower was pay as needed - $1.25 for 12 min. We stayed there because to use the RV Dump was $15, highest cost to dump we have seen. Restricted hours to run generator, 4-6 pm and 8-10 am. We have stayed in State Parks in other states, cost varies depending on state but this was the most money for the least. - Broda2675
Aug 2018 - $22.00
Great Vermont state park. There are 3 loops. Loop one is busiest with older bathhouse (only 1 shower each for men/women). Sites toward the road appeared to be larger. Site 3 was most private and quiet. Modern bathhouse with 4 showers. All coin operated .50 for 5 minutes. Great pressure and hot water. Ice and wood reasonable price at gatehouse. Kayak/canoe rentals for $10/hour. Public swimming beach. We stay in site 64 (loop 3) for 2 nights and then moved to site 14 in loop one for 2 nights. Preferred loop 3 for the peace and privacy. Lots of outdoor activities in the campground and area. - CDG
Sep 2017 - $20.00
A beautiful place on the side of a mountain overlooking a lake. The "preferred" sites are directly on/above the lake. Very quiet, very serene, very Vermont (at least during the week in September). Swimming off a sandy beach and canoe and kayak rentals. We (a dog and her old man) were in a totally private site, overlooking the lake, in our 22' RV. - Sterling Allen

Road still very bumpy. Bathrooms dated, but clean. Nice back-in grass site with lots of room. Came across the Green mountains instead of taking Mass pike and this was a good first night stop for our trip out west. - NH Hiker
Sep 2016 - $30.00
This place was the worst place we have ever stayed at. Still loaded with potholes, site not level, & some of the permanent season sites were nice but then again some needed serious improvement. Got sewer but when dumping - it flowed out on the ground. Thinking it was just a shallow hole in the ground & not a proper sewage disposal. Nasty!!
The only good thing we can say is there is a creek within walking distance so we took our wine/beer there to unwind. The trailer with leanto next to us was not something we cared to observe.
Read the reviews, wouldn't recommend, & would rather park at Walmart without amenities. - gwchoice
Sep 2015 - $30.00
Where do I start. I always avoid staying in parks that haven't been reviewed within a year of our visit. Made an exception because we really needed someplace to stay on our way through area. I looked for the improvements mentioned in the last post but I can't find them. Called in advance for reservation and was told it was off season so rate would be 30.00. Gentleman who checked us in couldn't use credit card machine so I wrote a check. We requested a pull through with full hookup. We got water and electric. Good news site was relatively level. Also told the restroom/showers were closed because they just painted the floors. I can't begin to describe the permanent trailer and lean-to next door and I certainly can't write how my husband described it. My suggestion would be to find a WalMart to stay in. - beach walker

Visiting the park just one week before they close for the season. Only 3 other sites occupied this weekend. My husband grew up in the area and has fond memories of the many family camping trips to Clarksburg State Park (or Mausert's as they called it). Very small campground. Quiet. Very nice restrooms/free, HOT showers. We stayed in our Roadtrek (class B, 23') in sight 22. Fit fine but be warned lots of road noise. Next time we'll opt for site 38 or 42. The pond view sites are very nice but tents only. Price is high at $27. Office offers wood at $5/bundle. Ice, groceries, etc. just a bit up the street at Billmont's. Chilly weekend so we didn't bring the kayaks but we saw one couple canoeing. Good location for seeing all the area has to offer. - CDG
May 2016 - $17.00
Nice little state park in northwest Massachusetts. Like other Massachusetts state parks there are no hookups at the campsites, but I was surprised to find that there is no dump station at the park. I was informed that, if needed, I could utilize the dump station at Savoy Mountain State Forest about 10 miles west off of Route 2 with a valid hang tag from Clarksburg.
We booked late for Memorial Day weekend, and Site 31 was the only one that would fit our trailer. It might have worked better for a little pop-up, but we had a tough time getting our 21' trailer in the 23' max spot. The level pad area and driveway were angled the opposite direction you would want for the approach from the one-way traffic loop. Walking the campgrounds, most of the sites had better approaches, and I figured out why #31 was the last one available.
Nice hiking trails through the woods and over many wet and marshy lands. Good views of the pond along the way. Paved loops connect the camping sites and it is a quick walk around to do the figure-8 loop. Not worth bringing bikes for this campsite, unless you want to ride that figure-8 loop a bunch of times. - malsbury

$39 / night, W/E50/I; The campsite has both wooded and open field sites. We were in an open level grass field site but were uncomfortably close to our neighbors. With our slides open, we were less then 10 feet to where our neighbors were sitting on their site. They offer internet but the signal is poor. We would still stay here again since we are not overly picky but it was a disappointment at this price (Not that this price was overly expensive but we've had much better sites at this price). Just beware. - Teddi2
Sep 2018 - $39.00
Camping on the Battenkill is located on the edge of Arlington, VT, a cute village that is, as far as I can tell, not near anything else. The three main attractions are trout fishing (catch and release), maple syrup, and Norman Rockwell (he lived here for 14 years). The park is quite nice. It's large and the sites are spread out all over the land. When I called for a reservation, she asked whether I wanted a site by the river, in the forest, or in the open. I chose a river site, and indeed, our site was a back in site where I could have backed right into the river if I had wanted. The people at the next site were fly fishing in the river. The river and forest sites are both deeply forested. All the sites appear to be level, and look to be fairly easy to get into. Roads were dirt, and bumpier than I would have liked, but we had no trouble getting around, even after a full day of heavy rain. I watched a workman come and clean each site as campers left. About half of the sites are seasonal. The seasonal sites are in the trees, in a separate section from the transient sites. Bathrooms looked a bit scary so we didn't try them. There were a couple of washers and dryers. Also a game room that we didn't really look at. Verizon and AT&T were both good enough to stream video. - AnnP
Aug 2018 - $38.00
We booked at the last minute and split our time between 2 sites. Both sites were very good, level and plenty of room. Part shade most of the day but enough sun to hit the solar panels. 18b was the best spot. We had a 26 foot class C, and still had plenty of room for the tow vehicle to park in front. Both sites were full hook ups, but 19b was a 50 amp service so we used an adapter. The office is very good working with you to change sites as we had originally booked 14b, but didn't like the branches hanging down that we would have to drive thru, plus the site was un-level and slanted. I did see class A rigs come into the campgrounds but they were hitting limbs. The bathrooms/showers are dated and I used my own shower. We did have to use our own pump as water pressure was too low to make the on demand water heater work. I would stay here again, using my own shower. It's is a friendly, quiet camp grounds close to lots of hiking, outlet mall and great restaurants. I would give this campground 5 stars if the bathrooms/showers were updated and cleaner. When someone leaves, they clean the fire pits and do a site clean up to include remove any left over wood. Pets: only saw 5 dogs off leashes the 8 nights we were here, that's pretty good for as big as it is. Every morning our screened cooking tent was peed on, seems it liked 2 corners. One neighbor put their dog on a long rope that reached under our RV to our picnic table. It was pretty funny when she started licking my knee during breakfast. Tips: walk to your site before driving in, its a maze of roads and hard to get turned around if you make a wrong turn. Bring bug spray. Full hook up sites that look good: 21, 22, 23, 19, 18, 17. Some river sites were pretty, electric only. The roads are filled with pot holes, be careful. Look for over head for hanging branches, bring bug spray. When parking, check for hanging dead branches. Over all, not impossible to maneuver thru them. - hiker13

Was here for a T@B rally 9/24-27. Campground run by city of N. Adams. Some sites power was at a distance and needed a long cord to plug in. Site 1&2 are small tent sites @$25 a night. Other sites $35-40. Campground host was very friendly. - Trub
Aug 2015 - $30.00
This park is long in the tooth and in need of a serious upgrade. At my first assigned site, I couldn't find the electrical outlet. Finally, it showed up, about 75 feet from my site. Electrical panels were shared by two sites, so only one got 30 amp service and the other 20 amp. Sites consisted of white coarse sand and gravel that stuck to everything. To get into the park after 4:30 pm, you had to put down a deposit for a tab to get in, even though the entrance gate had the capability of accepting keyed in numbers. Finally, using a credit card involved a $2.50 fee for the privilege. The campground is on the side of a steep hill (like much of the area). Staff was nice and helpful, but nothing can overcome the deep need for an overhaul. If there were no other campground in the area, we'd stay here again, otherwise probably not. - Jay Rutherford
Jun 2011 - $22.00
Town-owned campground and nearby lake are most acceptable, terrific pavilion, fishing and non-motorized boating, right in historic North Adams. Do not let your GPS take you up Mt Everest approach. Come in Route 2 to East Main St and left onto Kemp. Very friendly staff, good security. Can get very busy, suggest reservations. Appalachian Trail and other hiking nearby. Close to beautiful Williamstown and terrific art galleries. Our rate was with a rally. Temporary power problem required some caution: should be fixed soon. We would stay again. - Wheelbarrows

Aug 2013 - $38.00
We were here over Labor Day for a family camping/tubing weekend. We had been here a few years ago and loved it. Since then there has been a change in management and not for the better. The bathrooms were disgusting - I didn't have to use them but we had two couples with us that were tent camping that did. They were filthy. The sites were grassy which would have been nice except that the grass was quite tall. The roads were full of huge ruts that were full of muddy water. It would serve them well to invest a little money and fill the ruts in with some gravel. The ground was very soggy and all the standing water brought out the mosquitoes. We chose this campground because they offer tubes and transportation for the Battenkill River, but they ran out of tubes so we had to rent from a place down the street and provide our own transportation. This place has the potential to be a great place, but unless they make some improvements, we won't be back. Be sure you call for their pet policy; dogs not allowed on any tent sites, only the RV sites. - Bonnie66

May 2015 - $35.00
Well-kept campground with kind of rough gravel roads and large grassy areas. Our site on top of the hill was fairly level and was the only one in the row with sewer. Water pressure was extremely low, wifi was good, Verizon signal was spotty and just barely usable for calls, not for data. - jbrucemagon
Aug 2014 - $47.00
This park is made up mostly of seasonal residents who make up about 80% of the sites. Even though we were located at the entrance, next to a main county road, it was quiet and the noise was minimal. We had full hookups, including sewer, but the electric service had serious problems. With 30 amp service we were only able to pull 14 amps without tripping our surge protector because of inadequate voltage. The voltage dropped to less than 104 volts anytime we tried to use an air conditioner. The internal roads are washed out with many potholes. We didn't have to navigate them because of our proximity to the main entrance. It's unlikely we would stay here again. - Rob&Terri
