Stayed a week. Used as a base to visit the state for fall vacation. Site was fairly level, grass. Utilities worked well, cable TV was great and WI-FI was pretty good until Friday night when the campground filled up and more people were using it. Lady in office was nice and helpful, the gentleman, not so much. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped in a motorhome. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

We had reserved a site on the river, but when we arrived we realized that we would not get satellite TV reception, so they moved us to the upper level and it was fine. Site was large with utilities in the right place. Electric and WIFI were fine, but water pressure fluctuated from good to weak. Site was grass and dirt that was sloshy and muddy when it rained; dusty when it was not raining. All in all a good place to stay if you are in the area. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Catch the bands on Saturday nights at the RV park. Tap One on Main Street in Randolph is worth a visit. If you need your car worked on go to Chips Auto & Tire in Randolph. Chip does good work and is a friend of the RV park and the community.

A lot of seasonal or permanent campers with all sites in very well kept condition. Sites are roomy (no close neighbors), level and solid base. It rained while there and didn't see any standing water. The road into the CG could use a little TLC (bad bump at the end of blacktop). Also, some trees on way to site need trimmed. Check in went smoothly with nice and friendly owners. Would stay here if in the area. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice and quiet park with beautiful river along the back of the campground. The staff was very helpful about things to see and do. Quite a few seasonal sites but they were well kept. Only issue was no cell service but they provided WiFi codes for 3 devices free. You could add more for a fee. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a 43 foot motor home with slides. We had ample room for our motor home, slides and tow vehicle. Our stay was very peaceful and pleasant. The area was green and beautiful with trees and a creek that ran behind our motor home. The owners were awesome. They were gracious enough to let us check in two days early, even before they were totally open for the season. They were accommodating and met all our needs. We were there over mother's day weekend and they came go each campsite and had children deliver a carnation to all the mothers. They had a mother's day breakfast planned but, due to the rain and storm they had to cancel the festivities. We would stay here again for short or long term visit. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A nice, isolated, quiet campround along the 3rd branch of the White River. Single lane gravel access roads (some are grass) with an interesting descending curve coming in. Mix of grass and gravel sites (mostly grass) some in an open field, others in a lightly wooded area.

Power was mostly ok (did have one low voltage on Leg 1 during our stay). Water (40psi) and sewer ok. Wifi reasonable signal strength and speed. Verizon cell pretty much non-existent (voice and data) although sometimes a voice call would work. TMobile had good signal strength and speed. Minimal road bike riding in immediate area. Single stream recycling on site.

We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Our site overlooked a very nice creek and it was quite large. The owners were very helpful as we needed repair on a tire and they had someone come to see us right away. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This was a very small town but they had a nice restaurant on Main Street called the Tap Room and Grill where we had a nice dinner and then came back the next night for open mic. We went into Mount Pellier, which was an awesome city

First, the rating is based upon the riverfront sites. They are HUGE! 40-50' wide and very deep. Owners/hosts are the best. Ordered wood, delivered to site and stacked. Price, very fair. Even though Braintree is so small it shouldn't qualify as a town. But Randolph is nearby with a very good grocery store. Near State Capital, Burlington and Quechee gorge, all must sees. From the looks of them the off river sites they seem to be !bout as nice. Lot of seasonals, especially, so if you want to stay here next year, make Rez as soon as they will take them. We will definitely stay here again We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Quintessential Vermont meadowland bordered by a branch of the White River with hillsides crisscrossed by hiking trails beyond. Largest grassy areas we've seen. Well-kept dirt roads and sparkling clean facilities. Very good water pressure, excellent Wi-Fi, easy utility connections. Super friendly owners. Idyllic location. We had a great weekend staying here for the first time. We had a river site (#14) and camped here with our 2 year old granddaughter. It was an excellent weekend for weather and we enjoyed the pool and walking down by the river. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The place is newly opened after being wiped out by flooding a few years ago. Our site was grassy and level. Our satellite television got reception and the Internet access had a strong signal. The playgrounds were older but they are supposed to be getting in new playground equipment in a few weeks. We plan to come back again. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.
