We've been coming to this area of Vermont for over 14 years and wanted to try a new campground. Based on the reviews, we thought it would be a good option with the swimming pool and the restaurant right on premises. We were very wrong, this place was very disappointing, especially as compared to other campgrounds in the area. Sites were small (our 25' TT barely fit), there was construction equipment parked all over the place, no cable, no internet, no cell phone (Verizon) service, the water spigot didn't work on our site so we had to run the hose to another site, the 30 amp electric kept tripping with minimal items plugged in -AC and fridge only when it tripped. We hung a clothesline from a tree to our awning to dry a few things - went out for a few hours and when we came back, someone had removed the clothes and dumped them on the dirty picnic table ! Someone had also removed our grill from the picnic table. When we complained, we were told that the rules clearly stated no clothes lines. We never received rules or any paperwork when we checked in, and other campers had clothes lines up and they weren't made to remove them. There was supposed to be group fireworks and bonfire on Saturday night, they moved it to Friday and never informed us. This campground is fine if you are a seasonal and are part of the "in" crowd, if you are just there for a week, find another place as you will not really be made to feel welcome. We will not be returning. We camped at Alpine Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small and well managed resort: lovely setting, lots of trees, spacious and level sites, well maintained, heated swimming pool, large and lovely playground, onsite restaurant (with good food) and a well-stocked pub, great staff, new and comfortable bathrooms. Lots of free stuff for kids of all ages: basketball (with different height hoops), horseshoes, shuffleboard, a pool table, etc. No cable and our Verizon cell phones did not work most of the time but the WiFi was almost always OK. Folks in the office are lovely and caring people. We loved the place and wish we had brought more family along. We will return! We camped at Alpine Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Dog Chapel, Stephen Huneck's Gallery on Dog Mountain near St. Johnsbury Vermont: http://www.dogmt.com/Dog-Chapel.html. Sometime ago it was a church and now it is a lovely, lovely chapel / dog park for humans who love their dogs (and other pets).
