We spent a week at Pine Hollow Campground in Pownal, VT in our 39' fifth wheel. This small campground is beautifully landscaped around a small pond and is very well maintained. We had a back-in site that was easy to access. We had a 50 amp FHU site and all the hookups worked well. Pownal is a few miles south of Bennington, VT and is centrally located for visiting many attractions in the area. The campground is a couple of miles away from any major road so it very quiet. We recommend this campground and would return. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA is only an hour away and is well worth the drive. On the return from Stockbridge, stop in Dalton, MA and visit the Crane Museum of Papermaking, where all the paper for US currency is made. In Bennington, make sure to visit the Battle of Bennington Monuement.

This is a beautiful little park with the nicest people! Unfortunately, wifi or a cell signal is necessary in order for us to work, so we weren't able to stay. There is absolutely no cell service. We weren't able to stay connected to their wifi because the signal wasn't strong enough. If these things aren't important to you, then we would recommend this park. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was a one night stop for us. First. The campground is one of the cleanest quietest ones we've stayed in. The staff could not be friendlier and more helpful. We had to change our travel plans and we thankful we got a reservation. However our site was in a grassy group area. Luckily we have an EMS on our rig. The voltage dropped to below 110 amps several times. I'm sure when the the EMS cut the the power it kept us from having major electrical problems. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Very basic campground nestled into the pine trees of Southern Vermont. Sites are in a circular pattern around a nice fishing pond with the FHU sites on the east side up on a terrace. There is a lighted fountain in the middle of the pond. Electric, water, sewer, cable TV and WiFi worked well. They have just upgraded the WiFi system and I saw speeds up to 27mbps occasionally. Provided cable TV has channels 2 thru 13 which includes two PBS channels. Additionally, Vermont Public TV is available over the air because a VPT set of channels is broadcasting from Pownal. Verizon voice and data are one bar. I had to step outside the MH to make phone calls. Our experience here was positive and we would come here again if we are in the area. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Cute place, it's kept clean and they are nice people. We booked a 3 night stay for Columbus Day weekend to enjoy the leaves in Vermont. The back in parking for our new Class C motor home was easy but seemed really close to the popup next to us. But we knew that's a big leaf watching weekend for Vermonters to grab at tourist dollars, and a lot of RV's would start showing up. No problem! But it then went from being cute to lousy because we realized that we were packed in VERY close together and that our pop up neighbor's awning was virtually overhanging "our" site's sewer trap! And then we discovered that our extended awning did nearly the same thing over the sewer trap on the passenger side site! Sure enough, a Class A backed in and hooked up on top of us and we got a powerful whiff under our awning and had to go inside and close the windows. That's just GROSS! The entire sewer system in the campground backed up and failed completely by 8pm, just as it started to rain nice and hard, so no one was allowed to use any sewer hookups in the campground or even use the restrooms in the campground on Friday night! That's no problem for self-contained rigs, but it's not so fine for many popups and we felt bad for the folks behind us. We left early the next morning, found a much nicer place in New York and did not and will not ever return to Pine Hollow. I understand that the campground's sewer issue may not have been foreseeable, but in reality it likely failed because it was taxed far beyond it's intended capacity in the first place. We booked our stay months in advance, drove many hours to get there and we certainly did not expect to be sardined like that. My wife says it felt like we were in a migrant camp scene from the old movie, The Grapes of Wrath. I was embarrassed I brought her there, on this her first real getaway in our new RV. Some first impression. Sorry folks, this in not the type of RV camping we signed up for. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Follow several winding roads to this family-owned and managed park. The center attraction is a small pond. Smaller RVs and tents can camp right at the water's edge. Other sites are nestled in the trees, some widely spaced, many side-by-side. The bath house is clean but ancient. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Convenient to the Berkshires. Visit Bennington where there is a WalMart. Plenty of scenic drives in any direction. A hidden gem in nearby Dalton is the Crane Museum of Papermaking. They provide all the paper for our US currency, several other nations and fine stationery and papers for business and industry. Great tour.

Beautiful park and lovely stay! Would stay here again no problem. Staff was friendly and brought us on a tour via golfcart and let us pick out our own site as several were available. We chose one near the pond and stream and it was relaxing falling asleep to the sounds of water. The pond is small and staff didn't seem too thrilled at the concept of our small children swimming - so we only let them walk through and look for frogs. There were large pines giving plenty of shade, smooth pine needle covered sites and plenty of grass for our little ones to run and play. The swingset is in the sun - so not very useful and is quite boring. The restrooms are clean but wear water shoes in the shower. We didn't and the womens showers smelt like urine. The picnic table at our site was in need of replacement, too. The roads to the CG were scary but doable. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Great campground off the beaten path with excellent access even for big rigs. Roads are paved until the last right turn, which is about 1/4 mile dirt to the entrance. Sites for big rigs are close together. They are easy back in with plenty of room to maneuver. The park was well maintained and clean. Our site was full hookup, there is a dump station for sites without sewer. The owner met us at check in and provided good information on the area. (Esp where to get diesel for a big rig) We would camp here again. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

We called ahead and requested a pull-through, 50 amp, full hookup site, which were already filled. They were able to accommodate us in the group section. We had 50 amp and water but no septic. No big deal, as we could do without for 2 days. What a hidden gem! This park is beautiful, very quiet, internet is strong, and cable is available. This park is well off the beaten path but easy to get into. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cute cg nestled behind a neighborhood street. Very clean grounds with a nice pond as a focal point. We were assigned the only sight that mgmt says gets satellite so we were happy. This site does lack a few of the pond if another coach is parked to the right. Good road in the park and easy in and out. Would stay here again. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Unless you want excessive pine sap on your vintage trailer, truck, hair and shoes which took an entire day in an alcohol bath by hand to clean up, you should avoid this campground! Otherwise, it was quiet, reasonably well kept. Campground is aptly named. Definitely would not return. We camped at Pine Hollow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lovely little park! Beautiful pond in the center with a fountain that runs 24/7 and is lit up at night. Many sites are on the edge of the pond, but all sites see it. The sites are clean, mowed, and manicured. The grass is nice and green and the gravel is where it should be. The appearance of the park is very inviting. It is quiet and you actually have elbow room between each site. Cell service for Verizon is too weak to use. Wifi was not very good. Water was good and electric was stable. Bennington, VT is a nice area. The downtown is very quaint and "Vermont-like" as are the houses and building architecture. After you drive around a bit you see that the town is actually fairly large. It's nice that they keep the downtown area small and inviting. I would have given Pine Hollow a 10 except for the Wifi and cell service (not that cell service is their fault...).
