Overall Rating:

We chose a site in the first row (IC) overlooking Lake Champlain. It was really a nice spot, lots of space on both sides, plenty long enough and a gorgeous view out the front window. Only problem was it was sloped significantly, front to back and the site next to us appeared to have the same problem. If I were to choose again, I'd go for a spot in the middle of the row as they looked much more level. Also, the rows overlooking the lake are tiered and the sites staggered, so you could have an equally nice view in any of the IC, PN or AD rows. The wind coming off the lake was pretty strong most days (15mph +). The staff was nice and helpful, there was an inexpensive laundry and activities such as water aerobics, sip and paint, dinners with music, casino trips, etc. It was a great location for exploring the northern part of VT, the NY shore of Lake Champlain and even into Canada. I loved our stay here and would definitely come back. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Thursday night concerts at Snow Farm Winery - bring a picnic, some chairs and buy a bottle of wine to enjoy while listening to music. Pan's Pizza just down the road - seems to be a one woman operation that accepts cash only, but great pizza. Drive over to Smuggler's Notch area for some great hiking. The Village Scoop in Colchester has great ice cream at reasonable prices.

Nicest campground we've stayed at so far. One of the more pricey campgrounds we've been to but worth it with the view of the lake. Our site was a pull in site. All employees we met have been super nice. I've even had a couple see me walking an offer me a ride on golf carts. The sites are spacious. Our dogs are right at home. There is a restaurant, store, farmers market, laundry ($1.25 washer/dryer), computer room, lots of books to read, pool, hot tub, rec room, etc. The list just goes on. Everything you could want and more. Highly recommend for groups, family get together. Kinda pricey but I would stay here again. Only thing I wish they had was more trees for shade around the campground. Only one tree in the general camping area. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay. PN site with nice view of lake. Park is very clean. Nice room between sites and level with stone and full hookup. Pool and club house is very clean and nice. Store is well stocked and has a deli with good food if needed. Easy drive to resort with nice easy in and out of sites. Staff is very helpful and friendly. WIFI is excellent and wide open for satellite. Nice places to go and explore in the area. Golf if you play. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First off, that $39 per night is the Passport America rate. And the 12 nights were split up in 6-day stays, separated by one day out at a repair facility (Passport rate is only good for 6 nights at a time). We were in the Gold section with lots of shade trees but open enough for sat signal. That being said, this is a gorgeous island resort with views of Lake Champlain on two sides of the park. There is a nine hole golf course, beautiful pool and lots of first class activities (bands, wine tastings, casino nights and more). There is a marina and boat launch suitable for kayaks, canoes and power boats and there is a small store on site. The mostly work-camper staff could not be more helpful or friendly. There is also a state park, within one mile, with a swimming beach and free access to the water for exploring the marshes and ample wild life. On the downside, you are on Grand Isle and major grocery stores, restaurants and other shopping is a half hour drive away. You will run a rut in the causeway getting to Burlington and points south. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Shelburne Museum is one of the finest museums we've found in the US (your ticket is good for two days and you'll need them both to see it all). Spend at least one day driving around to the cheese farms. Grand Isle has two lovely farmer's markets (Wed and Sat) and there is a very large market, in Burlington, on Saturday as well.

Very nice, clean park. On site pool, views of the lake, friendly staff. Came to escape the hot weekend! ONLY concern was also low voltage. We had site ADO13 - offered a great view - these are pull IN sites so you get the view from your windshield - would not work for towables. Got down to 105V on 1 leg of 50A, same on 30À. Did better using 20A circuit at 111V. Managed OK, but we're a 30A rig. Doubt it was just too many rigs, since many open sites. Glad they joined Passport America, otherwise way to pricey! We would return. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

50 amp, FHU pull-through site with a view of Lake Champlain in 2 quadrants. If it had not been for the Passport America discount we would not have stopped here at all since the weekday rate is $80/night and weekend $90/night. Very well maintained campground with many amenities besides the view. WIFI worked well, approx. 20 or so OTA TV signals. Much to do in the area. Escort to site and garbage/recycles are picked up each day at your site. There is a general store on the property with excellent sandwiches and they will deliver to your site. Staff is excellent and very service oriented. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

There are many things to do in the area surrounding the campground. The owner also has a small auto museum and a terrific antique tool museum on the property but they are only open on Saturdays but if you are here they are well worth the visit and they are free.

Overall Rating:

This is a decent campground in very nice location. Very average facility for a very high price, the highest we've ever paid. Our site had some gravel, some grass and enough bare dirt to make it hard to not get mud in the RV. We asked to move from our first site due to very low (108v) power. which they quickly arraigned. The second location near the store had a solid 117 v. on both legs. We hot spot with ATT and had good service on that and Verizon phones, satellite reception depending on specific site, but it looks like many would work. Lower down by the office is the best bet. We did not use the showers, wifi or other facilities. Probably would look for a different park next time due to price only. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The original site given to us was not accessible because they apparently thought we had a small pop-up not a 26' travel trailer. After explaining we would not fit into the site they sent a gentlemen to see for themselves. We were then moved into a field near the entrance. There were hook ups there. The site overlooked Lake Champlain so it wasn't a bad site, just lots and lots of wind coming off the lake. So much so we could not deploy our awning or have a fire. There is a store at the main entrance that is great, all sorts of stuff there including a deli. The pools and hot tub were nice and there is a library. We could not connect to any wifi there. Big campground with a mix of seasonal and campers. Just down the road is a public beach and a marina across the road. Overall it was a very nice park and would stay there again. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Located along the shore of Lake Champlain, Apple Island RV Resort is a fairly large community, with RV sites available to rent or own or cottages available to own. The resort is across U.S. Route 2 from a marina with boat rentals and next to a 9-hole par 3 golf course. Located at the entrance to the park is a general store with basic camping, RV, and fishing supplies and a deli with sandwiches. Up a short drive from the store is the Resort Registration Office, where our check-in was quickly and pleasantly accomplished and we were escorted to our site. We happened to have a Platinum Plus site (IC060), and while it was nice not to have anyone in front of us, it is really not worth the additional expense. The Platinum sites behind us are on tiered levels, thus most have great views of Lake Champlain. The sites are hard-packed gravel and just wide enough for a coach, WITHOUT the slides out. Once they are out, you are walking on grass, which can be mushy if it has rained. We were told that future plans include the eventual widening of the sites and their entrances, so this problem will not occur. Also located at the resort is a Community Center with a fitness room, library with computer center, a great room with a kitchen, and a heated swimming pool and spa. A playground for children, bathhouses, laundry facilities, walking trails, and golf cart rentals round out the amenities. We used Apple Island as a home base while taking day trips to Plattsburg, NY, Burlington, Montpelier, St. Albans, and Waterbury, VT (Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour). We also drove to Montreal, Canada, spending three days seeing this eclectic city, while leaving the coach safely at Apple Island. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

We live only 160 miles away and had 4 days to get away. Though this park is pricey, we did ask for a platinum plus site overlooking the lake and were very pleased. We had been here 10 years ago and it now looks like a big overflow lot has been turned into full hookups. We thought our site was spacious and plenty long for our 40 ft. and tow vehicle. Staff were very friendly and plentiful, especially during the holiday weekend. Though we were settled midweek, we noticed 8-10 employees help keep the checkin process flowing smoothly as the holiday got closer. Nice little store onsite for supplies, subs, wine, and camping goods. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

We had reserved a Lake View site some time ago. The site we were initially given was Lake View only if there were no motorhomes parked in front of you. We worked with the staff to get a premium lake view site which was unobstructed. There are some nice Lake View sites on terraces but one needs to be very careful on the location. Our site was crushed rock with no patio area. Grass was minimal. For the price, the sites need to have a patio area that is concrete or similar surface as opposed to dirt. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice park. We had a drive-in/back out site, facing a large lake. The office workers, and grounds workers, were all nice and helpful. The interior roads are all black rock gravel. It is easy to manurer the interior roads. They have lots of activities, yoga classes ($5.00) water aerobics (free) Bingo on Fridays. My husband and I came to enjoy the area, and did not get to enjoy the pool, hot tub, or any of the classes. If I need to complain about anything, it is about the lay out of the RV sites. The rock pads are 90 degree to the interior roads, 9' by 65' long, instead of on an angle for easy pull in and back out. There is no way you can turn a 45' coach 90 degrees into a narrow site, without getting your back wheels on the grassy area (scary, and worry about sinking). But on the good side, the grassy area between each site, is large and spacious. The views are beautiful. We have truly enjoyed our 6 days here. We were here doing turtle nesting season, and were able to watch several turtles to dig holes, lay eggs, and the cover the nest. An enjoyable plus for the area. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

The lake view lots are not worth the money. Your site is in the middle of a grass field with a small pad made of gravel. The gravel pad was not long wide enough for many larger motorhomes. It had been raining the week before we arrived and the whole site was nothing but mud and there is no concrete pad to even step out of your coach onto. We felt this was seriously overpriced. They call this a resort but I think that only applies if you are in the upper level which was a combination of nice grassy sites and park models which were obviously occupied by long term seasonal renters. The staff were not rude, but they certainly were not helpful or friendly. The roads were tight and we ended up driving out thru the site in front of us as we could not back out due to the guy in back of us having to park his truck on the road. The sites are not long enough to get a 40' coach and a car or truck on. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.
