This was our first trip to the beautiful state of Vermont and the little Moose River Campground was a beautiful and magical place to call home for a week there. Being there for a leaf tour in October, the campground is filled with different species of trees that showed off for us the whole time. Very friendly to dogs (one of the suggested stops was Dog Mountain nearby which was awesome), we were treated to a cute, fall-themed park that was well-maintained and easy to get in and out of daily. We were greeted with a list of things to see, local services and eateries along with a detailed list of campground amenities. Highly recommend this campground to one and all. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Truly a riverside delight! Sites were mainly level,?sloping a bit towRds the creek. Gravel surface was firm and secure. We had a 30-amp site with steady power and good water. Sewer is a holding tank on each site. Well-kept grounds, a fun office (owner bakes brownies!) sparkling clean laundry room and your pups are welcome everywhere!! A bit of road noise but mostly masked by the creek. They have purchased land to build a dog park, so it's coming. We will definitely return! We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Owners are great hosts and very hospitable and have a lot of information about the area. The sites along the river are a beautiful setting. This was our second time there. Didn't care for the barking dogs next to us but other than that loved our experience. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

What a great spot and lovely park. Our site was right on the river. The running waters lulled us into a great nights sleep. Wish we could have stayed longer. Great local to base for exploring White Mtn. area of Vermont. Would absolutely return. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the very nicest campgrounds we have stayed at yet. Extremely clean, wonderful landscaping, several sites are on the river. Wash house and laundry immaculate. Campground does not cater to kids, which is nice, all adults. Sewer, electric, water all very accessible and cable was quite adequate as well as wifi. We stayed 4 nites as we were visiting friends in the area, but it is 5 minutes from the Interstate, so equally giid fir overnite stop. Riley's seafood restaurant only a half mike away and gas and convenience store a 3 minute walk. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

As you arrive, the campground is landscaped with flowers and various moose related lawn ornaments. They obviously work diligently to keep the grounds looking beautiful. The building where you check is like a comfy cabin with a long porch and plenty of seating. The owners are friendly and give you a wave whenever you drive by. There are rules, and they are pretty direct about sticking to them. Not a problem for us. The park is on the Moose river which, unfortunately, is brown due to its origin in Victory Bog. It makes some nice noise though! The majority of sites have good spacing. There are only a handful of 50 amp sites. I think the waterfront sites (except the prime site) are all 30 amp. The pull-thru sites share a pole so you are close on one side. The owners ask you to pull forward as far as possible so the RVs are more staggered. Sites are gravel, grass, and dirt and fairly level. It's quiet for the most part except for some highway noise (jake brakes notably) from Portland street. The downside is that connectivity can be a problem. The WII FI worked reasonably well and then, inexplicably, would stop working at all. Verizon was sometimes 4g 1-2bar and other times 3g depending on where you were standing. So our mobile service and hot spots were not very reliable. If you are typically a feast for bugs, keep bug spray handy especially in the evening. They are voracious and will leave a mark! There is a cattle ranch nearby so some days there is a pretty powerful aroma. The park is centrally located but you have to drive 30-60 minutes to get to most attractions. Overall, a very nice campground and we would return. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is among the best we have ever stayed at. The sites are spacious and quite level. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and the hosts are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We originally reserved for 2 nights because we didn't think there was anything to do in St. Johnsbury. However, after seeing all the places to visit, we stayed an additional night. Oh, be sure to ask the hosts about the Bird Man. And if you can, choose a site on the banks of the Moose River. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

They have a list and description of nearby attractions like Braggs Sugar House (where we got Maple Creamies), the Cabot Creamery (where we filled up on their samples), and the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory (samples were given out after the tour).

We normally are not big fans of commercial campgrounds, preferring national forests or state parks, but this one is a real gem. We had a riverside site and it felt like living in a cabin on a river. The owners keep the park immaculate and quiet and the feeling is like being in a small neighborhood. They have a big bonfire every Saturday night and occasionally have musical entertainment, a barbecue or ice cream. The area is lovely and great for riding bikes. The only real limitation is that the riverside sites have limited sewer capacity--holding tanks that must be pumped out twice a week. This limits things like washing clothes or taking many long showers, but we did not find it a problem at all. I do not often rate campgrounds a "10" but this one deserves it. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Dog mountain is about a mile away and a must for dog owners/lovers. St. Johnsbury is wonderful and has a great farmers market on Saturday mornings. All the secondary roads behind the park are wonderful for bike riding, as is the rail trail that begins in St. Johnsbury.

Very nice park in a beautiful location. A staff member greeted us at the office and made sure that we had all the information possible to see and do in the area. Extremely friendly and helpful in all respects. We were in a long pull-thru site directly in front of the office which was pretty level. We were a little low on the river side which is to be expected, but nothing that our jacks couldn't handle. The only complaint would be that the sites across the street were to park their vehicles on our side of the street. Spaces for this parking were not "marked" so twice we had to ask the across the street neighbors to move their vehicle from in front of our site. Luckily, they were very friendly and accommodating so there was no issue. This issue could be removed completely with designated parking for those sites. Other than that minor complaint, we were more than happy with this outstanding campground. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, well-kept park with friendly hosts. We had no idea there was so much to do in the area, and since New Hampshire is just a few miles away, you can go there and visit the White Mountains. We always worry that our 45' rig (pulling a tow) will not fit, or have problems maneuvering....but not here! We had a VERY long pull through that was extremely spacious! LOVE this park....the only thing that would improve it would be to have concrete pads. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

They are right by the Moose River. We had site #12 and our bedroom window looked right at the river. What a sight to wake up to! The owners are absolutely great, they treat you like family. They even have Belly Ache Tour maps, which by the way is wonderful. It takes you to all the sugar houses, Cabot Creamery and Ben & Jerry's ice cream tour. If you're in northeast Vermont, this is definitely the place to stay. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.
