Not much here for the money: no picnic table, no fire ring, no pool, very poor wifi but it's LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. It's within 5 miles of Appomattox National History Park. We had a long pull-thru which was level and had all the hook-ups. We parked in the front row under the trees, other sites are in the back two rows and there are no trees at all. As a campground, this is a high price to pay for what you get. But, it's close to Appomattox. On the other hand, Appomattox is a wonderful national park. We listened to ranger talks and living history talks, the film is an excellent explanation of what led up to Lee's surrender, the museum is good with lots of artifacts and explanation, the trails are fun, the store is quite complete. There are lots of benches in the shade and the roadside kiosks are also very good. We can't say enough good about the National Park. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Parkview MHP & RV Park, for us, was a one-night-stand. Most of our neighbors were long-term guests. Surprisingly, the RV park had neither a restroom nor shower facility. Our full-service site was pull-thru, level, and open (treeless with no shrubbery). The park seemed designed to meet the needs of it's long-term guests, while catering to the occasional overnighter who might visit the area to tour Appomattox Courthouse NHS or visit friends and family. Would we return? Probably not! Why! It's overpriced and offers few of the basic amenities RVers expect. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a bare bones RV park located beside a busy highway so it is very noisy. There are no bathrooms or shower facilities so I think it is way overpriced. There are no picnic tables or fire rings either. We are Passport America members and I would never have paid full price ($47) to stay here. The sites are FHU and are level and you are only 2 miles from the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park which is apparently how they justify the high price. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Needed to stay a few days while visiting family 35 miles away. It's basically a no frills parking lot with grass between sights. No trees. No picnic tables. No fire rings. It's right off the highway, can be noisy. When returning, would stay in a pinch but will probably look for other options. Walmart and other necessities near by along with an active train track. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A beautiful stopping place for some history and photography. Nothing much else to do. Granny Bee's for some delicious home style food and be sure to get the cornbread. Visit the Historical Center being sure to wear comfortable shoes. We'll be visiting the Civil War Museum today which has been highly recommended. Seniors $10.

Check in was easy, no credit cards, pay by check or cash. Campground is neat and clean. Some long term units toward back of campsites but they were all in good shape, none of them on blocks. FHU, sites in open sunlight. Good cell service and good for satellite. A trash can is positioned between the two sites and is collected on a regular basis. There is some highway noise but not noticeable inside the unit. I would definitely return. We stayed for two weeks, it was a good spot to leave the camper for a flight back east. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a no frills RV Park. It is right off of Hwy 460 so easy to get to. All sites are pull through so perfect for an overnight stop without having to unhook a tow vehicle. Check in was fast and friendly. Sites are gravel and a little unlevel, with a wider than normal strip of grass. No picnic table or fire ring.50amp and good water pressure. No amenities other than WiFi that worked well and our Verizon signal was strong. Road noise was not bad at night. We paid $40 a night with no discounts offered. We stayed May 25 -29, 2017. You are only minutes from the Appomattox Court House National Park and other historical places. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Like the name says, it is a RV Park not a resort or campground, paved roads and 30 paved level sites with grass and good utilities. No pool, no showers, no RR, no store, no laundry or playground. Close to Confederate Museum and historical Appomattox Courthouse National Park. All sites open sky for satellite. Good cell, strong free wi fi in site C-11. Good base to visit area but not a good value. Park three fourths empty in late July weekend. Recommend staying 2 nites to visit Nat'l park and museum in one full day. One mile to town and Walmart. Don't stay in site 1 thru 10 as on busy entrance road to MHP. Staff helpful and friendly. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Got to Appomattox Courthouse Nat'l Park and walk around in the morning for 3 hrs and then the Confederate Museum for 2 hrs in same afternoon. Eat breakfast at Granny Bee's downtown Appomattox. Good food and reasonable prices.

This is an Escapees Park; they do not allow discounts the week before or of a holiday. We were here the week of the 4th of July. The value of this park is bad. No pool, no cable. It even lacks a picnic table. They claim to have wifi, we hooked up but that was it. We were here four night and could not use the wifi. The wifi is non-existent. Being close to the freeway, there was some highway noise. All sites are pull-through; some are shaded. There are some residents in the park. For the most part, they are well-maintained. The park is close to the National Park; the Museum of the Confederacy is right across the street. We were here in a 40' fifth-wheel. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is basically an open lot beside the road. There are a few trees but not many. The sites are level and big enough for comfort. Lots of worker type seasonal residents. Pretty significant road noise. Very convenient to the town of Appomattox and the Confederate Museum. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nightly rate reflects Passport America for one night and the second night no discount allowed. They do take Good Sam, but only one discount may be taken per visit. No bath house, no playground, no Wi-Fi we could see. Sites are gravel, long, wide and level, as are the internal roads. The hookups are spread out with the sewer requiring 25 feet of hose for us, as did the water hookup. There appear to be 10-12 long term residents at this park, with some clutter at most RVs. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A section of The Museum of the Confederacy is 600-700 feet away, which was well worth the admission. Appomattox Court House National Historic Site about 2-3 miles away on the same highway. Walmart, Kroger, fuel and restaurants are at the next exit west on US460.

This is a RV park with a mobile home park in the back. There are quite a few permanent residents in the RV park area as well. The grounds were clean and the staff friendly and hard working. We stayed here two nights while visiting Appomattox Court House which is just down the road (driving). The power was as advertised and water pressure good. The sites are all pull-through and the interior roads are easy to navigate with the car attached. The place is a good place to stay while visiting the area. We would stay here again. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This "park" was not all that we had hoped for. It is simply a large open field with paved roads and level paved sites which we had expected, but we were surrounded by long-term residents in trailers that were in less than stellar condition. They have no facilities (bathrooms, showers, laundry) and no amenities. There are no tables or firepits. There is no store or laundry on the premises but there is a Walmart, laundromat, gas and fast food 5 minutes away. This is a place for a one or two night stay while visiting the Appomattox Courthouse National Park and the excellent Museum of the Confederacy which is directly across the street. We stayed here in a 33 foot fifth wheel and the rate quoted was with the Good Sam discount. Be aware that credit cards are NOT accepted. You must pay with cash or check. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The park is conveniently located if you are enjoying the surrounding activities of Appomattox and the Museum of the Confederacy. However, the RV park is a no-frills park. There are no bathroom facilities or anything else for that matter. The park is very simple with three rows of 10 sites each that are all very level. We stayed here for several nights enjoying the local activities and visiting our daughter in school in Lynchburg. The RV Park was only half full and the owners allowed us to park a separate vehicle and pull behind trailer on the site next to ours. My only concern with the RV Park is that it is not fenced and while there were no security issues of any kind, I felt somewhat uncomfortable as I travel with four children. Also, there is some road noise from the nearby highway, but not as much as my children make. We paid extra for 2 people above the standard rate of 4. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is near the highway and easily accessed but plagued by road noise. Interior roads and sites are paved. Sites are generously sized, pull-through and level with grassy areas between sites. There is only minor shade, no landscaping and no privacy between sites. Basic utilities were good, wi-fi was reliable, AT&T phone reception was good but AT&T data was very weak. This works well as a stopover but no activities are available on site. The price reflects the Escapees discount. We camped at Parkview MHP & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
