We found this park on Allstays and thought we would give it a try even though we could not find reviews. It is well off the beaten path but only about 20 minutes from Smithfield, VA where we were headed to see family. The park is quiet and very clean with plenty of room between the sites. Most of the residents are here long term, but their sites are well kept. There is a playground for the kids and a fishing lake for those interested. They even allowed our puppy to run free near the lake provided we cleaned up after her. - Wndopdlr1

This is not a resort! It is not a typical Yogi Bear Campground! It is not kept up, needs fresh gravel, leaves are not blown off sites or roads. Basically poorly kept. It could be very nice with some work. The long term rental areas are also poorly kept and some rigs look like they have been their forever. They are allowed to have trash around their rigs. These rigs should be required to keep their areas clean and their rigs maintained and well kept. This is not happening. Looks very bad in areas. This campground is fine for one night but by no means is it a resort, however they do charge "resort" prices. They offer discounts but they should be lower considering the condition of the park. - twotimes

There are seasonal RV here, but did not distract from overall campground appearance. Our site was level, 50 amp service leg 1 - 122v, leg 2 -122v. Water pressure 48 psi. Site was easy to get to and had good satellite reception. Great for an overnight stop. Not to much in the area to see. If driving north to campground use I95 and take exit 17 to go south on Hwy 301 to campground entrance. If you drive north on 301 out of Emporia you will have to do a u-turn to get to the entrance of the campground. - ETB

No one was in the office when we checked in. There were others waiting as well. Since we knew our spot number, we just proceeded to set up. There are a of old trailers and a fair amount of permanent residents through out the campground. We don't have kids, however there looked like many newer amenities for kids along the Yogi Bear theme. - brianb131
