We found this park on Allstays and thought we would give it a try even though we could not find reviews. It is well off the beaten path but only about 20 minutes from Smithfield, VA where we were headed to see family. The park is quiet and very clean with plenty of room between the sites. Most of the residents are here long term, but their sites are well kept. There is a playground for the kids and a fishing lake for those interested. They even allowed our puppy to run free near the lake provided we cleaned up after her. - Wndopdlr1

Very nice campground with a wooden patio - very nice touch. Our site was spacious in the front but very close to our neighbors behind us. Some road noise but not noticeable. Restrooms are clean and well maintained - have to use a key to get in (given one a check in) which helped keeps kids from running wild in the restrooms. Good mix of overnight and seasonal sites - I did not see any really unkempt ones. Lake swimming only so there is no pool. Nice beach area and lots of water activities for kids. - dadseven

We stay at Davis Lakes about every other year when we are visiting our children/grandchildren. We have watched this campground grow into a place you would love to visit! Park, restrooms and other facilities are clean, and the grounds are beautiful. Staff is friendly and accommodating. A family run business. A little pricey, but worth it! - 2 Chiefs

This campground is located conveniently off the highway and if I’m in the area, I will stay here again.
In general this campground is a mixture of both short term and long term campers. The long term campers keep their sites clean and orderly. The sites are fairly level gravel pads that are fairly level.
In general, the campground’s facilities are really good. The owners of this campground obviously take pride in their facilities and keeping appearances up.
The bath house was clean and good working order. We purchased propane from the campground and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.
This facility is a do over again for us. - Pigcrib

Level private site. Small narrow entrance to site over a culvert. This might be a problem for a larger motorhome. Most sites not for big rigs. - MsLucy

The campground is several miles by road from the excellent nature-visitors center where you can rent canoes or kayaks to paddle in the lovely cypress treed lake. Nice hiking trails, one of less than a mile between the campground and nature center. Great for nature lovers. Campground has a circular paved road with 20 dirt sites about a central bathhouse that was clean with hot showers. Several water faucets by circular road. No site E/W/S. Many trees. The attraction is the nature center, lake and trails. Very pleasant and helpful park rangers. I would stay there again in my Roadtrek B van. - 210jem
