Jul 2016 - $50.00
This is our second time staying at Hillwood, the first was a 3 year stay, and then this 2 night stay. The camping park is great. It's beautiful, green, and quiet from the minute you drive inside. Trees, a beautiful pond, and flowers make it feel so secluded despite being in the city. The camping park is so reasonably priced for the area. They provide a laundry room, bath house, and mail services. - skisqueen

This was the worst place I have literally ever been. Filthy!!! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The lady in the office is constantly talking bad about all the people staying at the park. Not a nice person at all and the owner takes no pride what so ever in this park. Lots of full time residents that have tons of old stuff hoarded around the outsides of their campers. This place was just gross! - Kelly from Ga
Sep 2014 - $40.00
This camping park is a blessing. It has the best staff, a beautiful location, and amazing prices!!! It caters to long-term tenants, which I love, no constant in and out. It doesn't have certain perks, pool or playground, but the surrounding area makes up for it! There is a water fountain, a water park, tons of playgrounds, bounce houses, tons for families to do! The sites are well maintained, considering the high level or rain and snow that falls there. The laundry facility does its job, cheap washers and dryers! The bath/shower house isn't perfect, but long-term residents don't need it to be, our campers provide it. There is no problem with security here, as a resident of 3 years, there was 1 incident. I recommend this park to the fullest, I couldn't have been happier anywhere. - skisqueen

Pretty park overlooking farm fields - site was fine. Don't go into the restrooms... the shower stalls in restrooms were clean, but showers are on pull chain so they are soak and rinse and I didn't try so don't know temp. But the restroom part- was awful and so I didn't even want to try the showers. Very narrow 1 vehicle road into campgrounds. Don't expect to use the restroom unless someone after me reviews and says they have been cleaned up. Lots of grassy area to walk a dog - pool looked clean and was being used. All and all, unless you need a clean restroom, this would be a good place to stay and only place near DC area. - Dixies Mom

This was our fourth time to stay at Greenville Farm. It is by far the best RV Park in the DC area, though somewhat rustic. I would say very nice for a working farm. We like the farm setting with cattle, fields, and a pond. It also feels more secure being at the back of the farm. We have made this our home away from home while visiting family in Arlington, and taking in some of the sights in DC. We have learned that the even numbered sites in the first 16 are the most level for our RV. This area is not heavily shaded, so we are able to use our DirecTV satellite. AT&T works fine here even though WIFI is not available. We use the Laundry every time and find it adequate but it could use a little more attention. Washers and dryers all work well. - Texas E-S
Sep 2018 - $41.00
This was an OK campground but our site was not great. It's important to note that there are several sections which are vastly different. We were in the full hookup pull-through section which is just some gravel spots in an open field. The sites are very close together, they face in alternate directions (so you share your camping area with your neighbor), and are on a bit of a hill so it's pretty hard to get level front-to-back. Overall our site was not great but was OK for the few days we were there. There's another camping section further back that doesn't have full hookups, but feels more like a state park campground - heavily wooded, pretty, and natural. The long driveway from the main road to the camp office is narrow (one lane) but newly paved and smooth. We did run into an outbound car on our way in, so the car had to back up to the camp office so we could get by. The road from the office to the full hookup sites is in poor condition (narrow, uneven, and rutted) but manageable. We had good AT&T and Verizon signal, and found plenty of places to walk our dog thanks to the wooded camping area behind our area. We'd stay again in a pinch, but prefer a couple county parks in the area. - LifeRebooted

Aug 2019 - $62.00
This campground is a great location in Fairfax County and fairly close to DC. Sites are spacious and wooded with a great set up for hook ups. Yes, there is some noise from the shooting range but it was not overly annoying. No noticeable road noise from I-66 and the water park, Atlantis, is a bargain at $4.00 to get in. We will definitely stay here again. - dadseven
Jul 2019 - $64.00
This park underwhelmed me. If I had known the park had an on-site shooting range RIGHT NEXT to the Campground, I never would have considered staying here. I have no problems with firearms, but what an audible nuisance! Site wasn't even close to level, and within 2 hours of arrival the entire power to campground went down, on a nice hot July afternoon. Things happen, but the office must have taken the phone off the hook as I couldn't get an update on power situation, and park staff weren't easy to find. Obviously no WiFi or cable here, but way overpriced for what you get. - Eagles Fan
Jun 2019 - $65.00
So clean and relaxing! Love how the sites are set up. You pull parallel to your site, so you have total privacy as you sit at you picnic table. Friendly, helpful staff. - Alex And Denise

This is a beautiful 18,000 acre park operated by the National Park Service. The web site indicates RV's are restricted to 32 ft, but this is not true. Larger units can be accommodated. All sites are heavily wooded and the campground is 7 miles from the entrance to the park. The staff and campground host are very helpful and friendly. This is a campground for people who want to be close to nature. If you desire swimming pools, etc., this park is not for you. It is within a 1/2 mile of I-95 located just 30 miles south of Washington D.C. - geodrake
Aug 2011 - $15.00
This is a National Park facility, 18,000 acre forest with 100 camp sites carved out of the forest. Reservations are available, but not necessary. All sites have paved parking. Many miles of hiking trails. A concession operated RV park with full hook-ups is available, but does not provide access to the park. - geodrake

Dry camping only with dump station near camp store and fresh water spigots at restrooms. Probably a great campground for tent camping but sites for RVs are very limited. The few that are level or long enough for an RV may or may not be available when you arrive, since you can't reserve specific sites ahead of time. Roads and sites are gravel/rock/dirt. Recent rains and poor drainage left some roads very pitted and with gullies running through them. Other than that, if you want to dry camp, have a small RV, and can grab an acceptable site (park literature says #'s C1,3,4,5,8 and B1,8,9 are good for up to 30' RVs) then this is really a beautiful place. Very heavily shaded. Near beautiful little lake. Nice walking trails. Lots of activities for kids in general park area (train, carousel, ice cream shop, putt-putt and disc golf). Verizon signal strong. Over-the-air TV antenna brought in plenty of channels. - aowcarol
Sep 2005 - $20.00
This is a nice, small, primarily tent campground that is well maintained by the park authority. We spent one night during Labor Day weekend and there were plenty of sites available. Everyone was tent camping. Smaller trailers could back into some campsites witout too much trouble. All sites are under trees. There are only a few lake side campsites with limited views of the lake. There's a small playground and grassy field. There are 3 fairly clean bathhouses which is plenty for this size campground. A camp store and dump station are at the cg entrance. The main park which is on the other side of the lake has Par 3 golf, mini-golf, frisbee golf, fishing, rowboat rentals, ice cream parlor, carrousel, small train rides, and a good hiking/biking/fitness trail. Private canoes and kayaks are allowed, but no rentals. There is no swimming. You can get to the main park by using the trail. I was the only one who noticed a lot of night road noise from a road outside of the park. Otherwise, the campground was quiet. I'm sure we will return for a full weekend stay. - crazy4sailin

Easy check-in, very helpful and friendly employees. We lost water one day because a camper backed over their water spout. Camp ground called each of camper to let us know. They had it fixed same day. - dlvgolf
Aug 2019 - $50.00
Very few RV park options available close in to Washington, DC. This park is 32 miles out, one of the closest. Park staff were very friendly and accommodating. Park maximized the space available to provide pull through sites. Spaces are short, but ours was fine for our 26 ft. motorhome. Parking for tow vehicles was adjacent to RV rather than in front or behind. Site was fairly level, but had to use leveling blocks. No extra parking next to laundry room. Had to park in vacant RV site to unload laundry. Six washers and dryers available at $2 each. - Texas E-S

Decent older park adjacent to the national park. Interior roads and sites are paved, but not very level. Heavily wooded but no issues with overhead branches. - DrLewie

I should have known this park had issues when I called to add a day on to our existing reservation only to find out they didn't have our existing reservation. I ended up getting a spot that was not what I originally asked for, but given some of the other spots, it was good. When I went to check in at the office, I noticed that their reservation system is done all in a book. There were many lines scratched through names, eraser marks, and really poorly written entries. This is a Fairfax County Park. Fairfax County is a very wealthy county with high property taxes not to mention home to many tech companies. Why don't they use a database? At a minimum, an Excel spreadsheet. In today's world, there is no excuse for this. Getting to the campground from the office is a challenge if you are arriving on a weekend. The park is EXTREMELY crowded on weekends with corporate picnics, group picnics, family reunions, etc. Parking is tight for those people so they often park where they shouldn't and walk all willy-nilly in the road when they shouldn't. In addition, the signage getting into the campground is extremely poor if you're arriving the first time and are pulling a huge trailer behind you. Our site (A17), in the Family Campground), was level. Many of the sites on the inner portion of a loop, are not level. Some extremely not level...i.e. on a serious hill. The CG co-mingles tent campers with rig campers. Oy.. The grass appeared to have not been mowed for about 3 weeks. Heavily weeded and lots of crawly things. There were also bees all over our site. We had no food or drink outside, so their origin is a mystery. In speaking w/camp host and two other campers that had been there before, they all stated that maintenance had seriously declined. - IndysMa
Sep 2019 - $40.00
The campground was overgrown - badly in need of grass cutting, gravel patios need fresh stone, restrooms were poorly maintained - lacked soap in several and not clean. We stop here twice a year and there has been a steady decline in the overall care of this county campground. It appears all resources are being directed to the day use areas of the park. - mlb
May 2018 - $40.00
This is a nice little park very conveniently located to DC. There is no water or sewer at the sites, so come prepared! We filled our fresh tank and made it 6 nights without an issue. As others have mentioned, the shower house has 6 individual rooms that are like private bathrooms, except that they're open above so you can hear everything. The fans were never on, but if they could be turned on it would probably help with the humidity. I suspect the showers are hosed down, but lifting up the "handicap bench" disclosed mucky black hair balls that could easily have been cleaned, and it was very slimy! An elevated mat in the dressing area would be nice so you don't have to stand in the water that comes out from the shower or is left from the hosing down. Also, check the water before you undress - some of the showers only trickle (#1) and the water never gets warm! On the other hand, the sinks spray with such force that you are basically showering there with your clothes on, and the water gets so hot you can't rinse your face with it! Seems like a couple of easy fixes are in order there. Overall it's a nice park, wish we could have explored the trails a bit more, but it rained the first 5 days we were there non-stop, so we only had one nice day. We were grateful the campground is on high ground! The dump station is near the shower house and seems easy to access, we'll use it on our way out. All-in-all, it was convenient for us and we would stay again. - Denise and Glenn
