Long level site. It was clean with adequate space between MH. Great amenities for big kids and little kids. Air trampoline, 2 playgrounds, pool ( closed this time of year) with shower sprinklers on side of pool, fire pit areas for large groups, Mountain stream with fish and ducks. There is a up the hill camping area that is wooded narrow sites. We stayed in the lower section. Very friendly staff. Will be back! We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice, quiet park about 15 miles west of Charlottesville. We stayed in the lower level, site #4, a pull thru. Although sites in this level tend to be fairly close together, our site was immediately adjacent to Stockton creek(with a wooded area across the creek) so there was no neighbors between us and the creek. Sites are gravel and somewhat level. Each site has a fire ring, wooden picnic table (in good shape - no splinters) and a small concrete patio. Interior roads (at least on the lower level) were paved with curves gentle enough for big rigs. We did not venture to the upper level, but have heard that interior roads there are more than tight for big rigs. Hook-up pedestals are conveniently placed for easy connections. Water pressure is about right; don't need a pressure reducer valve. Laundry facilities are a good ways from just about any camp site. There are four washers and dryers and the cost is $1.50/load for each. Laundry room is tight and not really set up to allow for folding clothes. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and constantly working to keep the park in good shape. The little store is well stocked with those items you didn't know you needed, but you don't want to take the the time to run up the road to Harris-Teeter (about 3 1/2 miles east). As others have mentioned, there is plenty to keep the kids busy, including fishing in Stockton creek. Suggest you check with folks in office on the need for state fishing license. We'll surely stay here again when we're in the area. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

There's a beautiful Harris-Teeter grocery store about 3 1/2 miles east on Hwy 250. The store looks as if it just built last week, but in fact opened 7-yrs ago. Bright, clean and neat with friendly, smiling staff.

We only stayed one night. We had a pull-thru. Park was very nice. Very nice workers. I would stay again. WiFi was not very strong and very few people in the park. We also went through a strong rain storm and by the time we got to the RV park, the cable was out and did not get it back that night We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped at Misty Mtn in a 40' motorhome in site V8, a pull thru; considered a "VIP" site. The site was long enough for our tow and daughter's van. My rear tires were off the ground to achieve level. The site and pad are 3/4" grey chip stone. My sewer hookup was on my neighbor's pad 3' from their picnic table. The CG store is well stocked and all personnel were extremely polite and accommodating. We stayed for 5 nights but had to leave because they were fully booked for Labor Day weekend. It's popular with locals. Our grandchildren loved their bounce house, playground, pool, and fishing pond/stream. All sites are very close. The upper level would be extremely difficult for a large RV to navigate. The lower level is well marked and easy to navigate for the largest RVs. It was convenient for our visit to Montpelier, Monticello, Appomattox Court House & the DDay Memorial. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great place for kids! And they are packed every weekend. We were lucky to get a back in site with water & electric (no sewer). We were here visiting friends so worked out okay. We camped at Misty Mountain in a motorhome. We walked up to the upper part of the campground and it is very nicely wooded - but definitely not where we would take our motorhome - sites are smaller and road is very tight and uphill. We stayed in the upper part of the park, which is quiet, peaceful, and well shaded. We had a back-in site, which was a little tough to get into and not very level, but once we got in, it was all good. We were right across from the bath house, which is clean, but could use some improvement. There are 3 shower stalls and 3 bathroom stalls. They are private, but there are no hooks or shelves to put any soap or shampoo in the shower; there are hooks in the dressing area, but no bench. It just makes it hard to hang clothes and dress without getting them wet. The wi-fi is good. We were in a spot without cable, and could not get any air channels. We would stay again, but would choose a pull-thru site with cable. The interior roads to the upper section have some tight turns, but several long trailers made it in. They do lead you to your site and help you back in. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Small sites, minimal space between sites, lots of barking dogs, lots of flies. Our fire ring was on the opposite side of our picnic table, right next to the main road, thus we didn't use it. It's a busy campground, especially as we entered the weekend. Many kids activities. Laundry facilities were good. The nature trail on the map was disappointing; more of an old 4x4 path. The store seemed well stocked, ice and firewood on site. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Monticello, Grand Caverns, local breweries. Check out the Exchange Hotel & Civil War Medical Museum about an hour away; full of history and relics. The Greenwood Market was very close and great for local food; Thursday evenings they had a neat outdoor market that included local hard cider tasting; Pro Re Nata brewery is just a mile up the road. Campgrounds in the area seem limited; for full hookups this might your best option.

We made reservations a couple of months in advance to attend UV graduation. As you can see from the pictures, our hookups were located next to the picnic table of the next site. Literally. There is construction going on across from this section which began at 7:05 am. Tractors, graders, dump trucks, etc. Very dusty or muddy, depending on the weather. The water was shut off with no warning, right in the middle of my shave; only 30 minutes. Good size dog park. Laundry room was clean but I wish there was a change machine. Had to wait for the office to open which occurred over an hour later than was posted.if we stay here again it would be in sites 1-17 or 61-70. V-1 through V-10 would work for an overnite, if you don’t mind being on top of your neighbor. Seemed a bit pricey, even with GS discount. Well stocked store in the office. Oh, WiFi was terrible, even slower than most parks we’ve been to. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park and very convenient to Charlottesville. There was construction going on but was not a huge impact. We moored in the lower area where the sites were level and the satellite hooked up no problem. Pretty little creek running by behind us. Spaces are a bit close....one of the type where your passenger side neighbor's sewer hose is just about under your picnic table. Good Verizon signal. The park supplied cable only worked part of the first day we were here. While it was working it was the best we've come across. Wifi was adequate. We will stay here again when visiting Charlottesville. 45' Motorhome. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

We booked a week before our stay, and was able to get a weekend 3 night stay. Our intentions was to visit a favorite winery for sangria(loving cup) and some hiking and shopping. There was a line for checkin, an escort took you to your camp site, and the site was level and spacious. Some sites were close and others not, trees were in all the hill sites. Cabins are intermingled with Rv sites. The bathhouse was ok clean, mud in toilet stalls for 3 days now and the showers looked very nice but someone was bathing their large dog in the shower so decided to use my RV. The park is in two different sections, lower(sun)and the hill section(shade), we were in the hill section. The park is very spread out, with lots of things to do for all ages, LP fill, dump station, horse shoes, laundry, game room, book exchange, pool, basket ball court, playgrounds, small pond with ducks, store and other activities. check in 1 pm check out noon, quiet hours10pm-7am weekdays, make sure you read this, 12am-7am weekends. It was observed while we were there, to include 12 am cut off on Friday and sat. We have not been to a park with a midnight quiet time before but with the help of ear plugs and fan noise we were able to sleep. The weekend we were here was a special haunted camp weekend, 19-21, so trick or treating, karaoke, wagon ride, contests and free coffee and donuts on Sunday am. You can rent golf carts for $55 a day, no satellite dishes on your camp site allowed, w/antenna we got 1 clear channel. No cable on our site, only water and electric for 39.71 a night (41.99 normal to include taxes)and that included our military discount. cons: many dogs off leashes, one in shower being bathed, lots of gnats. traffic is non stop and faster then should be allowed, carts also. pros: they pick up your garbage at your site, water taste good. Location to winery's and shopping is great. I would stay here again but stay in the lower level away from all the falling nuts and limbs from the trees. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

The pull-thru gravel site was level, treeless, and relatively new electric/water/sewer hookups. Although cable tv was available, we never did get it functioning-no matter, as we dialed up our rooftop dish. The sites were a bit close together, but not bad. We do not tow a vehicle, so this part of the review goes unanswered as regards did we disconnect. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

We arrived at Misty Mountain on a Wednesday, and the resort was not full. We checked in and were quickly directed to our back-in spot (Site 34, right on the creek in lower camp area). Our site had electricity, water and cable. Some sites do offer a full-hook up, but they are not on the creek. There are also tent sites and cabins available throughout the property. A dump station is also on the premises. This is a very family-friendly campsite! Tons of amenities parents and kids will love including a pool, a playground, a blow up trampoline area, corn hole, beach volleyball, a basketball court, game room and lots of themed activities (the week we were there was Christmas in July, which including Santa coming to visit, ugly sweater parties, karaoke, Christmas decorations and more!). The staff were super friendly and helpful. They come around and gather your trash from your site each day. The bathrooms were always clean. And the resort offers a strong WiFi signal (bonus!). Oh, and the mountain views are incredible - we were there in the summer, but I can only imagine what it must be like in the fall when the leaves are changing! The sites are a little close together, but they've done a good job landscaping with hedges to try and create a little privacy. The camp resort general store has all the little trinkets and treasures you might need for your stay, and they offer coupons to local restaurants and attractions. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Misty Mountain is centrally located to all the area's sites and attractions: Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, the University of Virginia, the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, tubing, and not to mention the many wineries and breweries. While you're in the area, visit nearby Crozet Pizza, a great locally-owned restaurant with some incredible food! And if you're up for a quick - but challenging hike - try Humpback Trail. It's less than two miles round trip, but the views from the top are breathtaking!! You'll be glad you huffed and puffed your way to the scenic overlook!

This park is within easy access of the freeway, yet far enough away that traffic noise is not an issue. It is well maintained, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Interior roads are very tight for a big rig, but not impossible. Because of the cramped sites we were glad to have a pull through site. We would not have been able to maneuver a back in. The pull through sites in the newer section looked a bit more level and sunny. We had a pull through site in an older section near the creek. It was close but pleasant with a cement patio, picnic table and fire ring. The site was barely long enough for our 40' fifth wheel with our pickup parked sideways. Lots of people lined their vehicles along the toad, and that contributed to tight roads. Because of the trees we were only able to pull in two satellites on our DISH, and camp cable was limited to 10 or 12 channels that we never watch. AT&T had 3 bars LTE. The bandwidth of the camp WIFI was typically useless. There are a lot of seasonal campers, but they were friendly, and their rigs are well maintained. We would definitely stay here again even though it seemed a bit pricey. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first time visiting Misty Mountain Camp Resort. It was a really nice campground. Check in was easy and staff was very nice. They had plenty for kids to do. My kids practically stayed on the bounce pillow. They had a food truck set up on the weekend which was very convenient because, after a long drive, I did not want to cook. We visited Monticello, Montpellier, Luray Caverns and Frontier Culture Museum. We had a blast. There was so much to do. I will definitely stay here again.
