We made reservations for a campground called Brunswick Family campground. It is located in Brunswick Md an we paid $59.00 for a premium site(well they call it premium) I call it full hook up because we have sewer(we can't use because I don't have 50ft of sewer hose). No cable,no wi-fi, and no over the air channels. To get to the campground you first have to go through the town that has a very narrow two lane road and the town allows parking on the street. Then you have to make a 90 degree right turn in the middle of town,go through the train station and the parking lot for the train station across 8 railroad tracks to the road and then you turn left on a dirt road and go about a mile past the towns water treatment plant. The road has pot holes large enough to have a class a lost in it. You come to the campgroudnd that looks like a cow pasture with water and electric. The sites are gravel and not level at all. The cancellation policy is “too bad” no matter when you cancel but you can stay some other time this year if you can't make it on the day you chose. In all honesty this place needs to be closed down. If I had to rate this I would give it a negative 4 stars I would go negative 5 but the Potomoc River is in the back of the campground. The campground did flood on June 4th and they are trying to clean it up but I the think they should have called the guests and offered to refund the money since it was sonbadly flooded. Oh well it is part of the adventure and live and learn. I guess I better pay more attention to the reviews - TRR
Aug 2017 - $50.00
Streets through town to get to park are very narrow. After you cross railroad tracks, be ready for a really dusty potholed road to campground. Check in was weird - we were given orange bands to display so staff could know we weren't "squatters". Finally got to "campsite" to find electrical and water hookups were at least 50 feet away. Campsite was on the edge of potential water hole if it rained any at all. Tried to get a refund as we decided we were NOT going to stay. Were told refunds had to be approved through general manager at main off-site office. Called and of course he had just left office for the day. We left to find something else. Refund was finally approved 3 days later. All we can really say is: JUST DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING HERE unless you see it first. Best thing that can be said is that the campground is on the Potomac River. - gwvwadc
Apr 2017 - $50.00
My husband and I had planned to stay here for our first overnight stay in our new 26' TT. The drive to the campground was the first issue we ran across. The roads through town to get to the campground were very narrow and it was hard to make turns at stop lights without running up over curbs. Once we got through town and over the railroad tracks, we went down a very narrow gravel road, pass the sewage treatment plant and arrived at the campground entrance. I will say the lot we attempted to setup at had a very nice view overlooking the river. However, it was an extremely unlevel lot and we did not have very good success trying to setup the camper. After ruining one of our stabilizer jacks, we decided to pack up and go down the road to a different campground. - HappyCampers508
Aug 2019 - $100.00
This campground is ridiculously packed. Sites on top of sites. Forget feeling like you are in the great outdoors. Otherwise, staff was friendly. Amenities were very nice but bathrooms and showers were gross. Coaxial Cable running across the road that is unsafe. Only benefit of staying here is that it is in walking distance to Harper's Ferry. - LizBeth333
Jul 2019 - $80.00
Very nice amenities. Lots to do for families. Site spacing very close together. Some not level. - Sward7550
Jul 2019 - $94.00
Stayed on site 10 pull thru with a 40' 5th wheel. The site had a concrete patio with furniture, 50 amp service and plenty of room. Close walk to the store, pool, game room and pancake breakfast. Park is keep clean and staff is super friendly. - Mdmilburne
Jun 2016 - $30.00
We stayed at this campground for an overnight stop on our way home. The campground is located in a forest, with paved roads and gravel sites. Sites are large, well separated, shaded, and private. RV/trailer sites have electric hook-up only. Water is available at a number of locations in the campground. OTA TV is limited, Verizon signal is good, and there is no WiFi. Restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. There is no traffic noise. A dump station is located near the campground entrance. We would stay here again. - tnyankee
Jun 2013 - $30.00
Nice State Park in Maryland! Pleasantly small camping area, with only 34 sites. It was an enjoyable 5 night stay! The weekend nights were busier, which apparently had the drive by female campground supervisor needing to check on every site very often. A few comments and suggestions were a little unnecessary. The weeknights were a bit better with the male drive by campground supervisor(s) simply driving by and waving! The camp host was convenient and helpful when needed for information. Pet friendly park and campground! Shower/Restroom facilities were well lit, clean and in easy access for all campsites! Beautiful shaded campsites! Each site has a large well built picnic table and fire ring with grill insert and 2 lamp posts which were quite handy! All roadways in very good condition! Lots of wildlife everywhere you look, helping to make our camping trip an enjoyable one! - patti&charlie
Jun 2012 - $30.00
A great little campground. It is centrally located to many historic areas and Maryland State Parks. There is a small pond to fish in and trails to hike within the park. The only sad part was that the park host is leaving this year and she not only kept the entire park clean, but assured that it was safe and quiet. - electrician549
Oct 2015 - $45.00
This park has easy access and is big rig friendly with level sites, concrete patios, good utilities but is mainly a trailer park with many permanents. As their website describes, $45.00 a night with a three night minimum. Basically the only game in Frederick and is okay if you want three nights. - RJourney
Jun 2011 - $30.00
As others have mentioned, this is not an RV park: it's a mobile home park that added spaces for RVs. It's not very tidy, but it was adequate for what we wanted: to be close to Frederick. Most RV sites are full of people doing contract work in the area for 4-6 months. All spaces are pull-throughs with concrete pads, which was nice as we got a lot of rain. No shade at all. The manager was very helpful and accommodating and he seems to keep a close eye on the park. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. And while it's not an RV resort, if we return to the area we would stay here again. - mauigirl7254
Mar 2008 - $27.00
This 'park' is NOT a campground. This is a former Mobile Home park that has been 'transitioned' to an RV camp (not campground). The only amenities are a laundry room. No Restrooms, no showers, no playground, no pool, we even have to mow our own grass!! The rates are very high ($800/month) but it does INCLUDE Electric (I have only used my propane sparingly for cooking). The manager is only here on Tues and Thurs from 10:00am-2:00pm. He is a nice guy, but not educated as to how a 'campground' should operate. Everyone here is permanent to semi-permanent and working in the area (Mostly men, very few families). I plan to be here until Jan 2010, when my husband hopes to return to the US (from working in Abu Dhabi, UAE) and we can finally retire and take off! The one thing that attracts people to this camp is the location. It is in the heart of Frederick, MD close to EVERYTHING! Very convenient location. - onthecoach
Oct 2018 - $36.00
This is a very nice park. Everything was clean and well cared for. Our gravel site was level and had been raked before we got there. We did some hiking while we were there, and the hiking trails were well tended. A couple of the loops don't allow pets, so be aware of that before you come with pets. - AnnP
Jul 2018 - $15.00
We stayed in the Cedar Electric loop. This park is very well designed for camping. All sites are reasonably level, but some have fairly steep slopes to the pad. The campground host was very informative and kept the sites spotless. We will definitely return. - Capt Gerry
Apr 2018 - $36.00
This was our second time camping here, both times in late April, so crowds were minimal. The sites we saw were all freshly raked and smooth. With a little planning you can find a site that offers privacy against a wooded hillside. The Park staff has been very friendly and helpful during both of our stays here. Nice hiking trail from the camping loops down to and around the Park's lake. We will certainly return. - 74 Noreaster
Jul 2019 - $45.00
Was here earlier in the year (didn't review then) and they were working on leveling sites and widening site entries where needed. Did an excellent job. I needed 1 "board" to level side to side. Come here as often as I can because of family in the area. All sites in the "RV loop" are full hook up with 50 amp service. Power and water pressure good. Pretty good OTA antenna reception. Now open year round. Camp store pretty good. Shopping & restaurants close by. Post office good for getting mail forwarded. Laundry will take either coins or credit cards. - MissingLinc
Jun 2019 - $47.00
Nice park with full hookups and new electrical system. Most of the leveling problems that I've seen on the previous reviews have been resolved. Our site was narrow but very level and easily accessed. T-Mobile service was good but satellite reception was non existent due to trees. Local TV service was iffy at best. - RJ56
Oct 2018 - $32.00
First of all the site we were given D69 was very unlevel. We are full time RVers and have never come across a site anywhere near that bad at a campground. Other than that the campground is very nice, clean, and quiet. They do however seem to have a very strict check out time as someone knocked on our door 6 minutes after 11, then came by again shortly after as we were getting ready to pull out. We have never had someone basically chasing us out of a campground like that before. - BrittanyFenn
Oct 2018 - $40.00
Not a good experience. Even this time of year they wanted reservations, which I had not made. No office, had to call and that was OK. Once in spot had to move, with an open field in front of me, moved across field. Owner's daughter came later and chewed us out for having moved across the ground - marked with flags but no explanation anywhere what flags were for. Kept expecting her to come back and light into me again. Water spigot in ground 1', leaky, filled up, challenge then to unhook (bugs floating in water). $40 ... no cable or wifi, fire ring or table, zero bathrooms nor enough gravel to set level. Significant, ongoing road noise -- all night. Lesson learned ...pay the extra and stay somewhere else. - Chris25238
Oct 2017 - $35.00
Price was right for what they offered, which was FHU, no WiFi or other amenities. Close to Harper's Ferry WV, which was our sole reason for being here. Owner was very nice, site was large but not level. - mdjr
Oct 2017 - $35.00
We needed a place for one night on our way to Florida. Nahkeeta provided us with a basic pull through site, but there is not much to recommend it. There was significant road noise. The 50 amp service kept tripping our surge guard. We probably would not stay here again. - Dave51
Jun 2019 - $40.00
Super Friendly and Helpful Staff. From the time I made my reservation until I departed the staff were friendly and helpful. The site that I was assigned was deep enough for my 41-foot class A and wide enough for us to enjoy outside. One word of caution...be careful coming down the road into the campground, it is a lane and a half and people who know the area fly up and down the road. - ETCTA
Apr 2016 - $10.00
These past reviews are a little out dated. A new Manager took over several seasons ago and man has it changed.
Still lots of Latino family's on the weekends but managed very well. If you want calm and tranquil arrive Monday through Thursday. If you want busy then go on the weekends.
Enjoyed the staff.
Bathrooms were clean, playground was nice.
$10.00 per night Sunday through Thursday. On Friday you have to purchase a weekend pass for $25.00 per person, it covers you until Monday at 1:00 PM.
Saturday you pay $20.00 per person and you can stay until Monday at 1:00 PM. The weekend pass is because of the large crowd and the difficulty in regulating arm bands.
Over all it's a great deal like $8.33 a day. - Outhouse
Aug 2010 - $35.00
The river was beautiful. Mike was great. Staff was friendly. The tubing was AWESOME. The campsites were the biggest I've ever seen. Nice, wide, more than enough room. We arrived on a Thursday and left on Sunday and also had some tent people meeting us there. For us, the stay was nice. For the tent people not so great due to the bath houses being completely disgusting. You also have to bring quarters with you to use the showers which the website doesn't disclose. A certain nationality of people showed up Friday night, by the hundreds. Things went downhill from there. They were loud, dirty and I think the bath house situation was because of them. They played loud music, left their trash everywhere, sped through the campground. Border patrol was all over the place and cops frequented the campsite over the weekend. On Sunday, they all packed up and left. They left garbage EVERYWHERE. I felt so bad for the owners to have to clean up such a mess. This is such a beautiful place to camp. I hope the owners can figure out a way to deter the illegals (I'm assuming illegal with so much border patrol officers around). - Leslie C.
Jul 2012 - $45.00
We were the only vehicle being used. There were a number of abandoned trailers. The swimming at the river was closed and is a hike away from the park. The advertised "museum" is run down and with unused equipment around. The caretaker was helpful. Would not recommend. - User2759

Jun 2019 - $110.00
Great park especially for kids. Lots of activities and planned events. Prices in Camp Store reasonable. Sewer Connection 1/2 way point of site. Water slides not open on Sunday during shoulder season. Will definitely return. - firemedicmark
Apr 2019 - $30.00
Enjoyed the opening weekend. Lots of activities and staff was wonderful! Would definitely go again! Maybe when it’s warm enough for the water park. - WhitebreadA
Apr 2019 - $50.00
We asked for a pull through and got one however, almost all the pull throughs are very uneven and took a while to get my 5th wheel level. Sites are good size in length but only about 25ft wide. Good cable selection however, the wifi is absolutely HORRIBLE! Very weak signal if any at all and this was on a weekday with no other campers around. The campground looks like they are constantly expanding it for more sites so lots of noise during the day. - D&E
