This CG was fairly easy off/on interstate. Our site was fairly level (although many were not) and we were very close to other campers. We had one tree that came within inches of our slide so our site wasn't that wide. We had lots of shade, but sites on the lower level (38-41) had no trees. The pool was a little small for all those wanting to beat the heat. The arcade was very out dated and really didn't provide entertainment for our grandson. I guess this was the average KOA CG. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

An overnight stop, called in the afternoon and reserved a spot for the night. Most spots are pull throughs and the terrain is hilly but each spot is graded and fairly level with picnic tables but be careful our spot was level but you stepped out your door onto a slope. We had to use our bedroom entry door rather than the living room to avoid a fall going in our out the door. There had been rain earlier and I slipped several times circling the trailer...don't know if the slope would have been easier had it been dry. They may need to cut a little more width out on this spot for parking the vehicle. Didn't notice this problem on other sites around us. The pool looked inviting. There was a dog run but looked a little busy for our pooch so didn't use it. They are putting in new cabins that look very inviting. We were escorted to our spot and they seemed to have plenty of staff to help if you needed any assistance. We would stay here again, easy on and off highway and they can provide a spot for any size vehicle. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The park was clean and well maintained. They had a nice pool and playground for the kids. The lots were nice and shaded. We only stayed one night but we enjoyed our stay. We arrived at the campground early so we went to the Natural Bridge State Park. Beautiful place to explore if you have time. We also ate at the Pink Cadillac Diner which was yummy. Please check our our RVacationer You Tube Channel for a video. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

We run I-81 a lot, and have stayed at this KOA several times before. Each time we come they are building some new sites, or in this case cabins, so the place is growing and improving. We were put in one of the pull through sites down below in a dished out level area. There is no landscaping in this area, though there is a playground. A good spot to stop for the night. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

It's always pleasant when you run across a good KOA. This one is about half mile from I-81 so it's nice and quiet. We were able to negotiate our 38 foot Class A with our tow into our site without any problems. Even though the sites are on a sloping hill our was perfectly level. Too many trees to deploy our satellite but the cable TV offered HDTV and enough channels so we were happy. WIFI was strong but for whatever reason we could not launch Instagram. FB worked. Good sized pool. The campground was clean, staff was friendly, we were only here for an over night stop but would stop again if in the area to tour nearby Natural Bridge State park and surrounding areas. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

First impression was that the park was attractive with all the terraced sites, giving most campers a little patio. But then, after hooking up and sliding out, our uphill neighbor pulled in. We had a motorhome; he had a trailer and large pick-up. The pick-up was parked on the steep hill, facing us, just 6 feet away from our dinette. The neighbors did not respond at all when we asked if they were using the parking brake. We asked to move and had to undo and redo all the hook-ups and slides. They were almost full by then, so we were lucky to get a new site. I do not feel that management should allow tow units to park in this fashion on the terraced area. There were nearby parking spaces for visitors that could have been used if necessary. Tried to upload photo but unable. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Many of the sites are terraced, but they are level and the utility hookups are convenient. No satellite reception due to trees, but the cable was great. They lead you to your site after checking in, as the park map can be challenging for big rigs.

A nice hilly campground, far enough from 81 to be quiet, close enough to be convenient. Hookups were great, WiFi and cable were typical...fuzzy and intermittent. But the location so close to Natural bridge state park and Virginia Safari Park was great, definitely do both...definitely. This was a perfect spot to jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway....you have to! We got on near Buchanan via 43 South and went all the way to Buena Vista....breathtaking! The KOA nature trail was a fantastic place to walk the dogs and the singing birds (especially the Mockingbirds, was a highlight for us. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

For SURE, visit Natural bridge state park (five miles away) and the Virginia Safari Park (two miles away)...and Devil's Backbone Brewing Co. In Lexington. Their 16 Point IPA was heavenly...I bought their last case!

Tips for other Campers:

Going into the very historic town of Lexington is well worth the trip. Be sure to stop by the visitor's center first to get your bearings and good tips on what to see. We went to the Natural Bridge state park the beginning of April and it was really crowded even then.

Overall Rating:

It has been 21 years since our last trip to this kampground. There have been so many changes, I didn't recognize the place. The owners have been renovating sites, buildings, and adding cabins since ownership five years ago. They were on site and were pleasant to talk with taking part in the activities. The shower houses, bathrooms, and laundry are some of the nicest Iveever seen in a campground. We loved the tiered sites. Some sites had patios, decks, tables and chairs, picnic tables or a combination. The placement meant you didn't see your neighbors sewer hookups. Nice touch, The tent sites looked superb. All sites seemed quite spacious that were on the upper section. TherE are four brand new cabins in the process of being built and a new fenced basketball court had been completed that our boys loved very much! The convenience of location was wonderful, but you would never know you were not far from an interstate I 81. The campground has a woodsy forested feel. The staff was superb and we loved being guided to our site and having firewood delivered. The staff was always busy taking care of the grounds and handling the large number of campers for a busy Halloween weekend. My only suggestion would be to renovate the game room and I'm sure that's probably next on the list. We will be back for Thanksgiving, We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Travel Trailer.
