May 2019 - $1.00
This campground has so much potential, large grass areas right on water but that's where we stop. It's a shame. The workers are great and do their best but its a losing battle, not enough money to maintain, so half to 3/4 of lots have x's on box, the dock is unusuable, the pool isn't open. It's a shame but I would say sell the property and let someone with money do something with it. - john55

Stayed here 8 years ago and there have been no changes. People are nice. 17 - 50 amp full service sites. Non-reservable! There is a couple that have mowed this 700 acre site for the past 16+ years. If not for them this place would be much worse. The land is protected, so no building is allowed. Don't know what will happen when the caretakers die. Manager has minimal staff but this is one of the cleanest places we have been. Great for relaxing and is only an hour from Chicoteaque and 30 min from Onancock and the very to Tangier Island. WIFI in lodge is so slow might as well not have any. Verizon is only cell service with at least 2 bars. There is a Village in the middle of the property with private homes and trailers. Pool is .5miles from sites. There are also cabin rentals here. Abundant wildlife, birds, deer, Fox, geese. Not really a site for kids, no playground near RV sites or cabins. Beautiful sunsets. - Lynne Dollar

Very large park with paved main roads, gravel site roads and grass sites, gated entry, club house, pool, and rec room. Private boat launch and pier which is dry at low tide. Most sites are back in, long and spacious. Only a dozen sites have sewer. Water is between two sites so both need 50 feet of hose and entire sections of shaded sites have no water available. Showers and toilets are 200 yards from sites. The dump station hose is broken at top of stand pipe so you and the rig get a shower but nothing comes out of the rinse hose and there is no faucet to use your own hose, so the dump station is a toxic waste site. Weak and slow free Wi Fi only in rec room. Land area is very large and ½ mile from gate to sites another ½ miles from sites to pool and rec room. No store on site, 8 miles to small store and 20 miles to Walmart. No cable and only a few over the air TV stations. No access to water or any beach. Another TT park continuing its downhill slide. Only about 1/3 of original sites active, all others abandoned and utilities non-functioning. Active sites well maintained. Have both open and wooded (no water) sites. Last 5 miles to park on narrow paved road. Staff nice and helpful, but will not return. - Pepper Dan

Immaculate park , well maintained, with lots of amenities. We stayed Tuesday-Saturday, preseason. Plenty of open sites, very helpful booking agent, all personnel are friendly. You will share a utility post for water and electric with your neighbor. Bring long hoses and cables. Friday night saw a huge influx of families for the weekend. Saturday morning kids were enjoying the pools and we saw a whole field set up with blow up bouncy house type things. Would have appreciated a brochure rather than just a map with park rules on the back. We didn't know they had bike rentals, though we had inquired about a golf cart (different rental areas). I imagine in season it is very packed and busy with kids on bikes and golf carts. It is a large park and it seems every one had one. As we were departing I noticed a sign for a shuttle to nearby Cape Charles. Again, wish we had known. I suspect it was running only on weekends until they were in full season, but I don't know. And it looked like a multi seat golf cart type vehicle acted as a shuttle around the park. I don't know. Just saw it drive by occasionally. As for the site, we parked on grass. Have no idea if that would be problematic in the rain. And roads were not one way. Because of the utilities pole, some folks pulled in, some backed in. Next to us the set up parallel to the road. - WMRamblers

So far this is our favorite CG (only stayed in 6 so far). Lots of amenities, very nice pools, nice dog walks, parks, & beach. Sites are gravel, not long enough to leave my truck hooked up. No fire rings, people just make a fire where ever they want on their grass. I saw some sites with 4 different fire pits. Interior roads are a bit narrow, but I was on the outside loop, so I had no problems getting into my site. Sites are a bit on the narrow on sides in terms of patio space between trailers. No cable. Very good WiFi and Cell (AT&T). We picked up TV over the air pretty well. Plenty of sites with shade or sun whatever your preference. Didn't use the beach, but they were clean. Had several fishing piers and reports of fish being caught out of the bay. CG is well maintained, with lots of staff visible keeping it looking good. Perhaps they were extra busy this week getting ready for the 2200 people coming this weekend (that according to employee at store). As of today, all but 5 sites reserved. We stayed 5 days in site 706 just before Memorial Day Week begins so it was quiet and peaceful. We leave tomorrow. We plan to return again. - RoadEyePie

Stayed at Cherrystone for one week. If you pay prior to arrival you can check in at the gate and don’t have to park and go in the welcome center. Every site here has plenty of room and there is a nice mix of sun and shaded sites. Our site is right on the bay but, there is beautiful views of the bay from the entire campground. The sites don’t have a fire ring just a spot in the sand for your fire. Also there is no cable TV but we got over 30 channels with our antenna. They also have the best WiFi I’ve seen at a campground. There is a large workforce constantly keeping everything nice and they are friendly and not intrusive. Look at their website for the list of amenities as there too much too list here. The store has a great selection of RV supplies, groceries, etc and the prices are very reasonable! Very pet friendly with two dog runs and a Doggy Beach! I highly recommend this campground! - Mardet
