May 2016 - $35.00
Great camp ground, very clean and well kept. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of room for 36 foot 5th wheel, easy pull in and out. Plan on returning more this summer. - Brooks F
May 2012 - $15.00
There are 8 RV sites that are very narrow. Campers with larger slide outs may not be able to use their awning. The utilities are in odd places. The tent sites are pretty private. This could be a great park with some attention to the RV sites. - ClackCampers

The campground is clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The sites were level. Water, sewer, and electric were easily accessible and all services were well maintained and in good working order. The restrooms and showers were clean. the campground is beautiful. We loved this campground and will return to it again. - cmssts99

Burson Campground. Very nice park well maintained. Easy to get into. Located before the actual Hungry Mother Park. Lots of trees. Some traffic can be seen and heard. We would definitely stay here again. Exit the upper drive as there was a hole we observed several hit and have to stop to examine their rigs. This park is absolutely beautiful and serene. Quiet at this time of year. Peaceful. Need to check in at the Visitor center. The camp host noticed we had pulled into our sight and volunteered to go to the visitor center, checked us in and brought us our paperwork. He also brought us wood at $6 a bundle. - Mamag76
Nov 2018 - $36.00
Beautiful spot right next to the creek. Should be cheaper this time of year. Need better signage to the campsite. - Teri44
Jul 2017 - $36.00
We arrived late in the day at the beginning of a weekend. The road in was narrow and right next to the river. A little scary for the passenger when meeting an outgoing car. Fortunately the road was not busy that time of day. Campground was almost full; think we got the last site because someone's reservation was not honored. Since we arrived after hours had to find someone to check in. We were in a pull-thru spot; so did not have to unhook our tow. Lots of weekend campers and sites were very close together. - Texas E-S
Jul 2016 - $36.00
Very nice owners. Older campground right by the river...tenting mostly near the river itself. RV sites are mostly back up with a lot of permanents or seasonal folks. Pretty tight quarters. One of the seasonal folk's off leash dog came out after ours. Pool, playground, volley ball set up for kids. Game room that was very busy with various ages. Didn't use the restrooms or showers. A bit of a trip from the interstate and the country roads can be a challenge in a large motorhome. We are 40' with a toad. - SerenityRVing
Apr 2016 - $34.00
It is out from town a few miles and the turn off US19 is really a tight right from town. The road back to the campground is narrow and right next to the river - a little scary on the passenger's side if you have to pass a car going out. The owners are very nice and helpful, and making improvements all the time. Its nice next to the river and they said the fishing is pretty good early in the year. We got 1 OTA TV station the quality was so bad we didn't watch it. No cable or WIFI, but AT&T phone and MYFI was good. All utilities worked well. There is plenty to do and see and places to eat in town. They provide you maps of anything and everything you could want to do in the area. - Grayhound
Sep 2018 - $20.00
There are several campsites, back to back, with 30 amp electric service and water. While there is no WiFi regular reception for Hot Spots was strong. There is a laundry room with 2 washers and 1 dryer - good price: $1.25. There is a swimming pool but the water was green and not open. There is a camp store with quite a selection of junk food. This is a nice place to stop on the road if tired for the day, but not a destination as such... not bad for the money.
Not much to do here for Labor Day weekend - no sidewalks or paths for hiking, and roads too narrow to ride bicycles. No events noticed in either Marion or Chilhowie (the 2 nearest towns). Used the time to clean the inside of the rig (bathroom and floor), defrost the frig, transfer fotos from the cell to the computer, and played games on the computer... nothing else to do... - UncleSpot
May 2016 - $20.00
Convenient place for an overnight when traveling I-81. Most sites seem to have 30 amp only. They are really 2 backing sites end to end. It would have to be fairly empty to be able to pull thru. Pay internet is available through Xfinity at $7 per day. Verizon cell service is very strong so we used that. Mostly clear of trees so satellite works well. May have some power issues as the 5th wheel next to us was plugged into our outlet with a long extension. Since nomone was home, I moved his connection to his pedestal and used our marked outlet. - glenthompson
Sep 2015 - $20.00
As the name indicates it is on the interstate. The owner was friendly and helpful. Our site was at the entrance, paved and level. Very noisy due to the road noise. It is a double row of about 8 spots each row between rows of apartments. There is a bathhouse but no amenities at all. We were here 3 nights while enjoying the creeper trail. This is a great place if staying a night or 2, but not a destination place. - esta34950
