Dec 2019 - $45.00
Stopped for one night on way to Florida. Checked in at office and escorted to pullthru site H3. Easy hook up, inc cable. Noticed slop of blacktop pad was scrapped and of concern. Escort said was from dollies. Site near road, but did not present problem. Park empty at this time, but can see it full in season. Undercarrage of coach dragged blacktop when pulling out. Did not up hook car, if I had, would have backed up. just listened to scrap as i moved forward. Do not take this site if towing with large coach. - Long Island Mac
Oct 2019 - $50.00
We made reservations about a month ago and the person I spoke to was kinda short on the phone, so I wasn't sure what kind of reception we were going to get. Perhaps he was just busy that day. Did arrive this past weekend in a Class C RV and had a good vibe about the place right away. The folks in the office were very friendly and helpful. Gave us a nice welcome pkg. with local info. and also had someone escort us to our spot and help us back onto a lovely level concrete pad. We are newbies and just learning the ropes, so all this help was very much appreciated. After returning from some local sightseeing, we had some difficulty getting the coax cable working on our TV, so they sent a gentleman that evening to help correct it. Watching the World Series was pretty important to my husband and we really appreciated their extra effort. Also want to mention that their store/office seems to be well stocked to meet a camper's needs. If I had to pick one negative about this camp, it would be that it is right next to a major highway with vehicle noise but even that was tolerable. On the good side, it is very easy to get into and out of and is very convenient to sightseeing in the Shenandoah Valley. Two of our RV buddies also camped there with us and found it delightful. We stayed 3 days and they stayed 4. We would definitely come back again. - Carousel

What a gem of a park. Nice padded sites, nice views. I have dogs and walking the perimeter was like being in a park. I only stayed one night but will stop on my way back north. - gone to the dogs

Nov 2016 - $60.00
Go in with the right expectations, this is NOT an RV park. They have fixed up the road going in but it is at least a mile or more of a rough gravel road. We camped closer to the "off season", the site we had was unlevel, difficult to get our fifth wheel level. There is shared water, fortunately there was no one else on the next site so we could stay hooked up to the water. No sewer or sewer dump. The previous patrons had moved the stone fire ring and picnic table, we had to move both (the fire ring stone by stone) in order to get our camper placed along the hook ups. There is no cell phone service. This is more of a "natural outdoorsy" campground. There were some nice amenities. We went for the ATV trails. However, it was expensive compared to other trail systems. There are a variety of trails, from super rocks to climbs to mud. Jeep trails too. They have a large pond that you can kayak, canoe, swim. Lots of room to walk around and explore. I had read reviews that the staff was rude. We experienced very pleasant and helpful staff. This would be a great place for tent camping, unsure if there are showers and actual flushable bathrooms though. Definitely a country feel and nice escape from people. - WVSunshine
Jun 2016 - $44.00
I wasn't sure what to expect when I made a 2 night reservation at The Cove. I had read mixed reviews And my nephew and my girlfriend, who both accompanied me on this trip, were not that impressed. However, I saw a diamond in the rough here. Below are my pros and cons:
Pros- Sportsman's Paradise. If you shoot, fish, ATV, hike, jeep or snow tube, this place is for you. Pristine settings between 2 mountain ranges with crystal clear lakes and ponds. Close to Tuscarora/Great Eastern Trail.
Cons- Our site wasn't quite level. The water spigots are shared. The entrance road is not for the faint of heart or those who are very fussy about their vehicle.
So being an outdoorsman I really liked this campground and may return some day. - User3064
May 2010 - $40.00
Our favorite park by far. In the mountains, out of the way and "rustic". Staff are very friendly and helpful and not there to deny anyone a good time that aren't bothering others. We stayed TWICE this summer! - Jdawg and G unit

May 2017 - $30.00
Very basic campground and suitable for an overnight but not one we would choose for an extended stay. Manager was very helpful and friendly, W/E 50amp pull through site was basically level. Park was occupied by many permanent rigs. Easy on/off the interstate. We would return in the future but only for 1 night. - Bob & Stephanie
Sep 2014 - $35.00
No one answered the phone and no sign of owners or management, but did speak to a cleaning lady who couldn't assist In any way. Roads rutted, causing tow vehicle to drag. Had to drive over fire pit to get into/out of site. Lots of long term campers in the park. Has LOTS so potential but looks like owners may have given up. Don't know how it's rating manages to be so high. But! Convenient to I-81 for overnighting on the north-south migration route. Smaller rigs would be much happier here. We are 65' with tow vehicle. - VRoss716
Aug 2012 - $35.00
This is a very basic campground. It may be a little over-priced for what you get, but this is a very expensive area. The owner is working hard to make it a success. While it is convenient for an I-81 stop-over, there are too many permanent residents and leveling is almost impossible. - larriin

Super Friendly and Helpful Staff. From the time I made my reservation until I departed the staff were friendly and helpful. The site that I was assigned was deep enough for my 41-foot class A and wide enough for us to enjoy outside. One word of caution...be careful coming down the road into the campground, it is a lane and a half and people who know the area fly up and down the road. - ETCTA
Apr 2016 - $10.00
These past reviews are a little out dated. A new Manager took over several seasons ago and man has it changed.
Still lots of Latino family's on the weekends but managed very well. If you want calm and tranquil arrive Monday through Thursday. If you want busy then go on the weekends.
Enjoyed the staff.
Bathrooms were clean, playground was nice.
$10.00 per night Sunday through Thursday. On Friday you have to purchase a weekend pass for $25.00 per person, it covers you until Monday at 1:00 PM.
Saturday you pay $20.00 per person and you can stay until Monday at 1:00 PM. The weekend pass is because of the large crowd and the difficulty in regulating arm bands.
Over all it's a great deal like $8.33 a day. - Outhouse
Aug 2010 - $35.00
The river was beautiful. Mike was great. Staff was friendly. The tubing was AWESOME. The campsites were the biggest I've ever seen. Nice, wide, more than enough room. We arrived on a Thursday and left on Sunday and also had some tent people meeting us there. For us, the stay was nice. For the tent people not so great due to the bath houses being completely disgusting. You also have to bring quarters with you to use the showers which the website doesn't disclose. A certain nationality of people showed up Friday night, by the hundreds. Things went downhill from there. They were loud, dirty and I think the bath house situation was because of them. They played loud music, left their trash everywhere, sped through the campground. Border patrol was all over the place and cops frequented the campsite over the weekend. On Sunday, they all packed up and left. They left garbage EVERYWHERE. I felt so bad for the owners to have to clean up such a mess. This is such a beautiful place to camp. I hope the owners can figure out a way to deter the illegals (I'm assuming illegal with so much border patrol officers around). - Leslie C.

Oct 2019 - $50.00
The road leading to the campground was very narrow. I don't know how we could have passed someone coming in the opposite direction, nowhere to pull over. At the campground, campers are packed in like sardines. All of the picnic tables at the sites are about 20 years old, broken and unusable. The garbage containers were overflowing with garbage. The pool was a nice slime green. Sites are unlevel. Dog crap everywhere. This place is terrible and will never stay there again. - Conrob
May 2019 - $42.00
Our second stay and this place is still a dump. We called ahead of time and were told they had sites and to come in after 12. So we arrived with no advanced reservation which kind of pissed off the women working the security booth. She had us pull up to the check in parking, I asked if we could pull down to the bottom of the hill and come back up. She said no. The check-in parking area would make a great ski slope. I stayed in the coach with my foot on the brake while my wife checked in. The sites are all side hill and have a pretty good slope to them. We could not get level and spent two uncomfortable nights here. We could not get any OTA TV reception. The water here tastes horrible. Boy was it nice seeing this place in our rear view mirror. The only thing going here is the location. - Bob and Inga
Jun 2018 - $10.00
Stayed here one night with two motor homes. Park is clean and easy to negotiate. We stayed in section C with electric and water and both were fine. Seems to be a lot of activities for children and adults. One of our coaches is a 44' and he had no problem getting around this park.this isour 2nd time here and we would return. - RayN

I have camped at TLC many times and consider it to be one of my favorites. The folks that run this rustic campground are down-to-earth and friendly. Sites are large with plenty of shade and the restrooms are always very clean. I'm a tent camper that isn't familiar with the length's of various RVs but I have seen a few monsters in this campground. There is a nice playground and plenty of peace and quiet both day and night. It's a great mid-way point between Winchester and Berkeley Springs so there is a lot to do. Every other week they have blue grass concerts in the summer with a sprinkling of unique festivals in between. Will definitely be back. - Tripp

Jul 2018 - $45.00
Pros: Owner keeps park clean and well manicured. Location right on the river is beautiful and peaceful. Only about 20-25 spaces so it's quiet with a nice concrete patio pad with river view. Several longer term residents but everyone is very nice and friendly. We would recommend and come back for sure. Cons: Confusing to find. Owner should post direction info or better yet good signage. Easy to get yourself at the end of a dead end road with no turnaround. Not good with a 41ft 5th wheel. Lots of rules about parking and no rugs on the grass. - 1Bobbie
Jul 2017 - $35.00
Nice, basic campground on the bank of the Shenandoah river. There are a few sites that will accommodate RVs over 40 feet. We use a Dish Tailgater and had no problem finding two satellites. (Roof mounted satellite probably would not work.) We would definitely stay again. - davedopp
Sep 2014 - $35.00
This is a very plain Jane park with only a few sites that all back to the river. Pads are gravel, barely. We arrived in the early afternoon to find no one at the office. We asked someone that was a seasonal camper and he had no idea what we should do. The signage said to call a number and not to pull into a site. We called and two hours later still no return call. We went ahead and picked a site, anyway. Finally someone, not the manager, came by and took our payment although we could not use our credit card as was stated on the web site. The water was also very brown even after running the water for a minute after hooking up. We only stayed overnight although we had planned on a 3 night stay. - HRambler

Jun 2019 - $35.00
Very lovely setting high in the hills about 20 minutes from Martinsburg. We were met by the owner as we drove in. We had made reservations in Feb. to be next to friends but the owner told us he did not know we were together and had moved our site away from our friends. This was about a block away. With no cell phone service, this was very inconvenient. In spite of that the campground is well laid out with most campers facing a large field with playground for children, horseshoes, and many covered pavilions for large gatherings. Restroom seemed to be freshly redone with two showers, two toilets, and two sinks. Everyone in the campground was friendly and offered help when we looked like we might need it. Gravel road ran around the whole campground and was easy to maneuver. No wifi, cable, or Verizon service but we got many over the air channels with our antenna. Site was a mix of dirt and grass and a large stream was nearby for dogs to jump in when hot. We would stay here again if every in the area. - Trainspotter
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Out of the way - 9 miles off I-81. Very quiet at this time of year. Friendly, small town privately owned park. Appear to be developing to family focused group camps. Converted farmland. - pwaygood
Jun 2016 - $35.00
We were the only campers in this gem overnight stay. The campsites are in a huge grassy field with water and electricity hook-ups. Dump and dumpster at the entrance. We spent part of our evening under a covered patio type protection attached to a huge old (1800) barn, because of a tornado alert and then a thunderstorm alert. We were able to pull our Class B RV in under shelter in case of hail (there was none, but a huge rain).
The showers have plush carpets in front of the stalls. Spotless washrooms. And the campground is on a creek. - skidiver

Jul 2015 - $14.00
Sites can accommodate RV's up to about 35 feet. However the road to the campground (VA678) is very narrow, as is the campground perimeter road so you have to be careful when getting there and backing into a site. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros: Very nice/friendly camp hosts, good fishing along Passage Creek (I caught 4 small fish in about 45 minutes) , lots of trails to hike, fairly new bath house with hot showers and flush toilets, refurbished old cabin as well as historic furnace site.
Cons: The water fountains were not working, the dump station was not working, no W/E/S (except for the camp host), they have a water pump within the park, very crowded on weekends and during hunting season, no cell service, no satellite service ( except for the camp host). - User3064
Jan 2008 - $10.00
No water right now. Wonderful getaway campground. Love going there in a tent. Can accommodate an RV or travel trailer. Has a dump station. No electric or water at the site. - tec2tec
