Overall Rating:

This is a fairly well maintained campground, with helpful staff at check in. Access roads are paved but all other roads are gravel as well as the sites which are separated by a small strip of grass, but it is tight and hooking up and unhooking can be a challenge with so little free space in the campground. Bathrooms and the laundry are clean. WiFi was excellent. The lower campground has pull in sites right on the water front, these are less private but have more space. The upper campground has pull in sites, with expansive water views, is more private but has less space and is less expensive but has a lot of permanents. Pet friendly and most people walked their dogs along the walk/bike trail that goes through the campground. The Tommy Thompson Trail is wonderful, level and paved with lovely views over the water, you will find doggie bags along both trails. There is some road and train noise but not overly bothersome. We would stay here again but only in a pull in site, it's a great base for exploring the area and the location overcomes all other shortcomings. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites are stacked like cord wood. Level, gravel sites with FHU's, no fire pit, our site had no patio, however the sewer hook ups are horrible! Open pipe sunk into the ground about a foot deep, with just a metal cover. Some views of the straits, a bike/walk trail runs through the park. No activities for families (pool, games, playgrounds, etc.) Some sites have a small covered patio area. All the grass areas are dead or dying (water issues for the area). Interior roads are a bit daunting with all the toads & towers interspersed around the rigs. Miserable road and roads system for ingress & egress to the park. Overpriced for what it offers. Nearby train noise & highway noise is moderate. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here twice before. The new online reservation policy is not to our liking. We plan way in advance and have our trip locked in with set days, but even 180 days out we have not been able to get the site we wanted. Our preferred site is a cabana, which is actually a double site with a lot of room to spread out. With that said, we did have a lovely pull in site on the upper level with a bay view. The lower area is too congested for us, with playground, group picnic, event center, etc. it seems as if he cabanas are being taken over by full timers, which is unfortunate. The Internet really drops off the further away from office you are. The multi use path running thru the RV park is very popular. The restrooms in the upper area are very nice, as is the laundry. Gravel interior roads and level, gravel sites. Grassy patio area but most sites the grass is brown. Roads are a little tight but manageable. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a no-frills, rustic type park. Most sites are pretty close together and don't have much of a view, others get just a partial view of the spectacular scenery surrounding this park. This was our first visit, by making reservations several months in advance we managed to get site 112, in the west park, with more space and an uninterrupted view of the bay, albeit across to refineries in the distance, but still peaceful and tranquil while providing the opportunity to watch the wildlife in the bay. The office personal are both friendly and helpful. The services were adequate ... I went to the local hardware store and managed to fabricate a simple adaptor piece to enable a good connection to the sewer which was 6 or 8 inches below grade, the water and power were just fine and even the clunky wi-fi worked most of the time. Lots to see and do around the area, we even made day trips as far afield as Seattle and Vancouver Island. We had a wonderful time, our 3 week stay was too brief, Anacortes has a place in our hearts. We will be back! We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Vancouver Island for lunch, a great way to see the San Juan Islands. Try Anacortes parks, especially Washington Park ... walk (or drive) the loop for spectacular views. Lunch in LaConner (lots of choices), dinner at Anthony's or Captain Whidbey's. Black Rock Seafood market for fresh fish and other seafood.

If you have a site on the water, it is lovely. If you are in a parking lot spot like we were, not so much. There is access to the beach for all & the sunsets were impressive. The campground gives access to a very nice bike & walking trail that goes into town. We would return if we can reserve a better site. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a fairly rustic park with no special amenities. There is no landscaping, and the sites are gravel with sparse grass in between. The sites are really unacceptably close together. The power and water are ok, but the sewer connections are poorly constructed and require some extra effort to manage. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The sites are large enough (just) for a 45' bus and car in tow, but there is no extra room. So why do I go there? Why do I stay there? Location, location, location. The park is situated right on Fidalgo Bay, in full view of snow-capped mountains, marinas, and huge tanker ships. Seals and otters and bald eagles can be seen daily. The bike trail runs through the park and there are several miles of a paved multi-use trail at your doorstep. The lovely town of Anacortes is only a short bike ride away. Waterfront sites are the ONLY good sites here - and the views make the lack of amenities worthwhile, in my opinion. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

This was our 4th visit to Fidalgo and were disappointed. stayed in the upper park which has many full timers. We were in a travel trailer and eere backed into a site meant for a drive in meaning our sewer hookup was in the middle of our sitting area. Sites are very close together. The lower area is either pull thru or drive straight in right on the water-these sites are more expensive. Very nice showers and restrooms and laundry. Will only return if we can get into the lower area. Many fun things to do in the area. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great park make your reservations early they now only take them 6 months in advance. We were in space 13 right on the water. If you have a little dingy get your fishing license and go crabbing maxed out every day (5) Kings were running and we did well, if you like claiming when the tide goes out about 1/4 of a mile everyone was getting maxed on their claims. Staff is great and they keep the lace spotless, they also have a small gym and the walking paths are beautiful, will be back again as we have been here before and love it. several good restaurants a mile away. The bay front sites, the most expensive, are a bit tight like most of the sites. The preferred site for us is the cabana site, which is actually a double site. One site is for your RV and the other site has a cabana with picnic table and enough room for chairs, a grill and other things, with space on the front and back of the cabana to park multiple vehicles. Of the cabana sites, 165 is the longest, 70' with a nice tall privacy hedge on the utility side. WiFi is very good. About 20 cable channels. Entry road is paved, all other roads gravel, including sites. Small strip of grass, picnic table, no fire pits or grills. Utilities good. Convenient to Anacortes and ferry. Walking/biking path right thru RV Park, crosses bay via pedestrian bridge, runs into Anacortes, 3.5 miles long. Gym and laundry. Bathrooms are fine. Registration area a little tight, right off the main road. Unhooking is a little challenging as well. Satellite reception at all sites, as there is little shade in the Park. Sites are level. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

The sites are very small and are difficult to back into when there are vehicles parked on the roads. The washrooms and showers are very clean. Laundry room was good (reasonable prices). Great location with walking/biking trail right through the resort. Would camp here again! We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tight for big rig. We stayed in East section, West section may have better spacing. Sites very close together had to have neighbor move his picnic table so we could put out our slide. Had to place our table in front of motorhome since no room between sites. Campground on water when tide is in, but view of refinery. Nice walking/biking trail runs through park. Right on the water, an older park with two sections. We stayed in the east section which is the older section. Sites on the water are longer pull ins. Views of the bay and waterfront, some industrial. Sites are narrow and separated by dead grass. Our site was listed as a 38 ft back in. Our rig is 31ft, nose to tail and it still sat about a foot into the street. No way to put it further back in the site without hitting the rig behind. So, no room for the car, so it must be parked in a parking lot. That causes lots of car traffic back and forth between sites. There is not always room between sites for a table, sometimes it's behind and between rigs. Road you must take to get into the park is poorly maintained and no directional signage is displayed. Park sign is only at the entrance to the park. Trail into town is a nice feature. WiFi is good, Verizon cellular is ok, satellite reception is good. Office staff is great. We would only stay here again if we were able to book a waterfront site. We camped at Fidalgo Bay Resort in a Motorhome.
