Excellent check in and they take you to site and help you park which is nice. Close to Annacortes and Deception Pass. Lots of walking close by. Will definitely return to this campground. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Love Pioneer Trails. Nice and quiet park. Nice playground for the grandchildren. Bathrooms are clean spacious and are free. It would be nice if they added a pool! We have returned several times. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I rated this park a 10 as it is one of the nicest parks we have been in. FHUs 50 amp with excellent wifi service and cable tv in back in site. This park is cut out of a rain forest and they left as many trees as possible, Hemlock ,spruce and sequoia towered above us and surrounded us in our large site. We enjoyed watching the Hummingbirds visit our neighbors feeder, so did our indoor cat. We reserved 4 days over the Memorial day weekend but extended as we liked the park so well. We do not use parks bathrooms or laundry as we have our own so can not comment there. Many families were in the park over the holiday and kids used playgrounds but it was relatively peaceful where we were. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely come back here if we are in the area. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We traveled by car to nearby islands by road to enjoy sights of harbors and bays. We also took a day trip to N. Cascades N.P. which had beautiful mountain and waterfalls scenery.

Overall Rating:

The price stated is for a week for a premium spot and includes the high Washington state tax. Best, by far, to pay the monthly rate if you will be staying long. Overall, this is a fine campground for exploring in and around Anacortes. There were times during the day that the military planes could be heard and also nearby trains. However, nights were very quiet, and we slept with the windows open. The park was not full when we were there either so we had some privacy and our site was very large. Some of the interior roads can be a bit tight for large rigs (ours is 45 feet) but are doable. Many of the shady spots are taken by long-term renters and most appeared to be used only on weekends. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The main problem we had was intermittent WII FI. It was either moving along fine or screeching to a halt. We resorted to using our phones most of the time. So it's irritating to pay a rather high price for a site with iffy WII FI. As others have mentioned, it's a bit dicey, even in a car, getting on highway 20. They really need a stoplight there. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First let me say that this park could really be a great park. The owner and staff are friendly. But some things need attn. First, laundry room needs upgrading. Second, the roads are dusty and the Lignite that they spray on the roads in mid to late July helps but gets messy when it rains more permanent solution should be found. 5mph speed limit needs better enforcement. There are trees that need to be looked at dead limbs hanging and some trees look dead most of the way up. Last and this is not something they have control over but you need to be careful when getting out onto the main road can be challenging The rate is based on monthly stay we stayed three months but will not be going back. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice campground well kept, in a good area, room for the largest of RVs. The young man that's is campground host is so polite and helpful. Nice playground and large off-leash dog area. Nice on-site store if you need something, and a clean laundry room. Close to everything, my only bad comment is there is a very dangerous left turn coming out of the campground, with no light, hard to pull out with a big rig, but can be done. There are a lot of people living here, but this is a large park and all sites well kept! We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

I would actually give it 4.5 stars. We have RV camped in numerous sites around WA and this is one of the better. The spaces have plenty of room. The entire campground its clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly. I will go back and highly recommend the facility. Note: you must be careful exiting from the site onto the highway. Vehicles travel quickly on that road. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The rate posted with this review is for a super premium pull through site before tax. I am not aware of any discounts such as GS or AAA. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the large open space just inside the property line. This enabled me to park our 41' 5er easily without obstructing anyone else. Check-in was effortless and conducted by an extremely polite and courteous site host. He then proceeded to escort us to our site, despite it being in view of the main office. Nothing appeared too much trouble for this gentleman who assisted in guiding us so that we sat perfectly in our enormous, treed pull-through site. The crushed gravel pad must be at least 80' long and plenty wide enough for our five slides and awning to be deployed without any interference from the trees or shrubs. All of the neighboring sites were empty but there is plenty of room and the trees allow for a feeling of privacy. The whole resort is very 'big rig' friendly. Water, power(50, 30 & 20 amp), sewer and cable connections are all well placed and functioned perfectly. I had forgotten about the cable service prior to our arrival so that was an added surprise. Our site was also equipped with a large metal fire pit and grate as well as a large wooden cabana with a picnic table and bench seating. Each site also has their own garbage bin. I don't know how often these are emptied as I never saw it happen but I do know mine never contained waste for long. WiFi worked well and was very fast but then we were directly opposite the antenna. There is one main bathroom block in the centre of the resort. This requires a numerical code to access but once inside everything is spotlessly clean. The whole unit is well lit and professionally tiled. There is another washroom (not shower) attached to the back of the office block which appears to be available during office hours only. Also attached to the office building is the laundry. $1.25 for a wash and .25c per 10 minutes in the dryer. All washrooms, laundry and office are easily accessible to those with mobility difficulties. For the kids there is a playground area with climbing frames. I also saw horse shoe pits for the adults and there is a short nature walk (no bikes) in the woods around part of the resort perimeter. The whole resort is wrapped up in mixed cedar and deciduous, mature trees giving a definite 'woodsy' feeling. The office stocks some groceries and RV supplies. Propane is available at what I considered to be a very reasonable rate ($15) for a new, empty 20lb tank. Within striking distance is Camping World, Costco, Wal-Mart, Safeway and an outlet mall. There are way too many other attractions in the area to list. The only negative for this entire area and every campground, resort or site (within a 30 - 40 mile radius) is the noise of jet aircraft taking off and landing at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. They resumed their training flights earlier this year after a moratorium lasting about 7 months. Occasional (30 or so per day) flights go from about 10am until midnight, four or five days a week. Again, this isn't a slight on this RV resort. The noise will affect everyone for many miles around so I haven't deducted an score for that. Despite this, I would most certainly stay here again when next in the area. This is a fantastic resort with excellent staff. Thank you for providing such a great service. This is one of our favourite parks to camp at; we used to have a tent trailer and they were just as friendly then as now when we have a big trailer. Staff are super kind. Note, they only take cash or debit (but if you're Canadian, your debit card may not work) - they were nice enough to let us stay the first night trusting that we would hit the bank for some cash on the second day. Restrooms/showers are really clean. Dog off leash area is not huge but is more than adequate. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very fine accommodations at this park. Very clean, groomed, all the infrastructure (power, Wi-Fi, cable TV) functioning perfectly. The staff was super helpful without being intrusive. Frankly, it would be nice if we could expect this type of facility and service at more "RV Resort" locations. We have had enough negative experiences that it makes an experience like Pioneer Trails the exception rather than the rule. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The rate reflected is the monthly rate+electric+propane for an extended stay during the winter months. This is a very clean, well maintained park with sites in the open and some nestled among the trees. Management and employees were very friendly and accommodating to your needs. They take a lot of pride in keeping the park clean and are constantly picking up pine cones and branches that may have fallen after a storm. The minuses for a park this size are not enough washers and driers (4 of each) and the hour that the laundry is open. We are early risers but had to wait until 9:00AM for the laundry to open. WiFi was good until they had some work done (believed they switched carriers) and then it was poor. If there was a swimming pool and/or a hot tub we would have given them a higher rating. It's unlikely we will return to Anacortes but if we did we would definitely return to Pioneer Trails. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is very clean and groomed campground. They seem a little strict about rules, but that also means that they care about it. There are some sites with trees, but mostly the spots seemed a bit like a parking lot. Easy access to Anacortes and the ferries, so we didn't really hang out at the campsite. Stayed a month. Electric is $.09 per kilowatt/hour. Didn't add that to the price of the stay. Very friendly staff. Got an escort to our site. Although a little bit of a small site for our stuff, the wife and I got everything in it. Angled back in sites. Gravel roads and sites located on different levels. Some small (like ours) some very big. Some in trees, some not (like ours). Has garbage cans at almost every site, recycle containers for paper, plastic, and metal behind the store. Allows campfires, so had to close the windows some afternoons and nights to not die of smoke inhalation. Amazingly quiet neighbors except for four nights of our stay. Weekends with drunk noisy neighbors. Got some planes flying over at different times of the day and night. Excellent cable TV, and Wi-Fi worked 90% of the time. Easy in and out with a big rig. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
