We called with about a week's notice and they found a good site for our 42 foot 5th wheel. We spent 3 days in that site and moved to an even better site (more shade, more secluded type feel to it) and loved it (photo included). The ATT phone signal was decent most of the time, but did experience some drops. Our ATT internet was good - surprisingly faster than we expected. Yes - there was some train (rarely) and some plane noise (only during the day), but no road noise. The place was clean, well thought out and did not feel crowded. The electric and water was great. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The town is only about 6 minutes away, easy to get to. The best Mobile RV service we've seen in 20 years is in space F3, so that was super convenient when we had some work done.

This is a beautiful RV Park with lots of spaces in the pine trees. It is on the road to Deception Pass, which is a beautiful area of Washington. The park is only a short drive from downtown Anacortes, the ferry terminals, and the stores in Mt. Vernon. It is very popular so reservations are a must. Laundry is a bit small for the size of the park - $1.75 to wash and $1.75 to dry. Very quiet and dark at night. Lots of tall trees and ferns everywhere. So peaceful. Our site was a little hard to back into and get out of, due to the trees, but the space across from us was empty, so my husband pulled into it and backed into our space. Getting out, we used the same space to pull out. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mt. Vernon has all the shopping you need including a mall, Target, and Walmart. There is a great fruit and vegetable stand on Burlington Avenue. Great chowder at Bob's on Commercial Avenue and great seafood at Anthony's on Q Street. Murals in town are fun to find, and ferry tours of the islands are a must. Whale watching with Island Adventures is great.

We stayed here for almost 6 weeks in 3 different spots. B13 was our favorite but all the spots are pretty nice although D25 was tight with just enough room to park our truck. Only negative was the cable which was weak or non-existent. Park is beautifully landscaped and well maintained and new owners seem keen to make improvements. One much needed improvement is a bigger laundry. It is way too small with only 4 machines. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Walk or ride the Tommy Thompson Trail and Wa Loop Road. If you like mountain biking, the City trails offer fantastic rides from easy to technical. Ride out to Edison and try the Oyster Shooters -they are to die for... Best we have ever had!

This park is beautiful with a state park feel. Gorgeous old trees and lots of shade. Location and weather are perfect for summer visits. Quite spendy for a campground without resort type amenities such as a pool or tennis/Pickleball courts. Two things really irritated us...no cable tv unless you are staying by the month and the roads are not paved. Way too dusty. We would not stay again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Decided to do some 'winter camping' close to home. Called and arranged to check in on New Years day and were told that the office wouldn't be open (holiday) but our site would have the water turned on for us. Pulled in and was first struck with how large the sites were...very nice. Sites are wide, and was able to park the truck next to the trailer without feeling crowded. Got settled and took the dog for a walk-about. Yes, there are quite a few full-timers, but everything was well kept and neat. No riff-raff here. Wifi was amazing....never been at an RV park where we could stream movies....very impressed. Maybe in the summer months when the place is full it might not be as strong, but who knows. Office staff are very friendly. Everything is very clean/well maintained. We will be back :) We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good large park with plenty of room to roam. Each site is very different so it depends on which site you get. The front of the park is very wooded with lovely big trees and landscaping. The back, newer part of the park is a bit more open and just big gravel lots. All the utilities are excellent and easy to deal with. We were in B15 and right next to the wifi which worked well all the time for us. Verizon cell was good. Cable worked well and easy to deal with. There is plenty for the kids and there are plenty of kids. You can always ask to be on one of the sides or in the back away from kids but it is a big family get away type park. Good dog park. Can be dusty if you are in the middle. Good location right at the edge of town. Easy drive into town or over to Whidbey. Right off 20. July and August very full so reserve early and u can always cancel. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great farmers market on sat in Anacortes. Thursday 4-7 in oak harbor on the island. July and August busy with something every weekend. Take the ferry to Friday Harbor San Juan. The mopeds on the island are expensive and not worth it. If you want to drive on the island, take your car. You can see all of Friday Harbor though just walking or get a trolly or bus from the harbor.

Hidden gem on Fidalgo Island! Sites tucked into the trees gives you the feeling you're in the woods. Nicely landscaped sites placed, so you're not on top of your neighbor. Sites are level and hookups are clustered together. Good cable station selection. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good playground for kids and a basketball court. Lots of trash cans placed around campground. While we were on Fidalgo and Whidbey Islands, we looked at other RV parks and we feel this one's the best! Upon arrival we found the owners very friendly and approachable. Check-in was easy but they only take cash or debit; after which we were escorted to our site and assisted in getting positioned. Our site was a level, gravel pull-thru approximately 75' x 25' with 30/50 amp power, water, sewer & cable 58 channels. All utilities are about half way along the pad that worked well for our set up and connection points on the 5er. We also had a fire ring & picnic table. Separation between sites is done with mature trees and low ferns. The bathrooms continue to be very clean and well stocked. During our 7 night stay I would estimate the park remained at about 95%+ capacity. I did notice the pads were raked and cleared of leaves almost immediately they became vacant. It can get dusty but only if people drive too fast or 45' DP comes by. There are lots of garbage bins, which are regularly emptied. The office/store is well stocked with RV spares and some groceries and I noticed tea/coffee was available. The park does accept mail on your behalf but it is your responsibility to check for its arrival. The owners are helpful about local events and suggestions for activities. We found the park peaceful, not at all noisy except for occasional yapping dogs, which is the fault of their owners for not having control of their mutt. The park has a mixture of sites (back-in, pull through) gravel and dirt pads some very long (we have 40' fifth wheel with a full sized truck and still had space to spare). For children there is a nice grassed area and play frame and grassed space near the picnic shelters. Some guests are seasonal or have purchased a site but all friendly and not aloof. Wi-Fi (included in the price) is available at the sites and worked well during our time here. There is limited recycling for cardboard & cans. Propane refills can be purchased here. Clean laundry with limited opening times. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Whale watching with Island Adventures. Beach walks at Rosario Beach & Washington Park. Camping World, Wal-Mart & Costco about 20 minutes drive. Cheap fuel @ casino. Military jets fly overhead but that impacts the whole area, not just this park. Difficult at times to get back on to the main road due to traffic flow. Get in left lane very early before turning towards Oak Harbour, especially if arriving late afternoon.

Great place to stay. Very wooded, beautiful grounds, spaced appropriately, etc.

They have dog breed paranoia. When you check in they go over a no breed / no mix list. Our dogs are mutts and this made us very uncomfortable because they said they kick people out if the feel the dog is that mix. I should have asked them to look at them before signing in. We had no issue after this, but know before you go.

They do not take credit cards. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Disappointment is the word we would use to rate this park.

Not sure, but I think the excellent reviews come from the residents of the Park, which are about 90%. I had very high hopes for this park. The two positive notes, is they actually had wifi that worked, and the cg staff was quite nice. Other than that, most of the residents were very unfriendly. They have the attitude they own the park. The resident children were completely out of control, riding their bikes at breakneck speeds, without helmets, screaming loudly, and rude, and the parents didn't seem to care. Sites are pretty small. There is no view of anything except your neighbor. The park is very dusty. Not a speck of grass at any of the sites. Washers are newer, and are $1.75. We were ready to leave after the first few days, but they have you trapped, since you pay ahead, and they will prorate to a daily rate if you leave early. Thank goodness, we weren't there much. We will DEFINITELY NOT return. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The posted rate is for eight nights in a Super Site and excludes tax. There are no discounts for weekly rates or memberships such as GS. This is our second consecutive year coming back to this rather superb RV resort in the North West part of WA State. As soon as we pulled up at the office, the camp host was there to greet us before I'd even switched off the engine. Check-in was effortless and we were then escorted to our site and assisted in getting the perfect position. The Super Site was level and long enough for our 41' 5er and truck, with room to spare. The hook ups worked perfectly with good water pressure and a stable 50-amp service. This site also comes with approximately 60 channels of cable TV that was crystal clear. The wifi is included in the price and did not require any passwords or userid. We had a good, consistent level of service for our needs. We did lose service for two days but so did 90% of the area after a severe storm struck. Super Sites also come with a lit gazebo and picnic table on a concrete base. Our site was nicely nestled in amongst some mature conifer trees, holly bushes, ferns and rhododendrons. The roads and sites are compact gravel. There is one central washroom block that requires an access code. Once inside, the showers are professionally tiled and very clean. There are plenty of garbage bin around the resort and they do have some limited recycling. The washing machines are $1.50 per load and dryers 25c for 10 minutes. There is a meeting room of sorts; children's play area and a camp store for last minute essentials and forgotten items. Apart from the Super Sites, there is a broad selection of other sites available throughout the resort. Sections A, E, F, G , H and some of D appear more open and suitable for those with satellite tv. Sections B & C are more woodsy. Some seasonal guests but everyone, including the staff, were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great whale watching tours with Island Adventures from Anacortes. Some good beaches (gravel) at Rosario Beach and Washington Park for short walks by the ocean. Costco, Camping World and Wal-Mart about 20 minutes drive east at Burlington. Safeway at Anacortes. Diesel and gas available from a nearby casino that has pumps dedicated to RV's and the best price around.

We camped in this quiet, pretty and roomy park in a 41' 5th wheel on a super premium pull through site which was very roomy, gravelled and had a large amount of open space to each side of us. Check-in was quick, efficient and carried out by a very nice young lady who waited for us and showed us to our site.
The water, power(50, 30 & 20 amp), sewer and cable connections are all easily accessed and were easy to hook up to. We had cable as part of the super site fee and there were over 60 channels. WiFi worked well and was very fast and I was able to stream TV on my laptop.
Our site had a large metal fire pit and grate which we did not use due to a fire ban, we also had a large wooden cabana with a picnic table and bench seating and we had our bbq under here.

There is one main bathroom block in the centre of the resort and this was always clean and well maintained, it is easily accessed for those with mobility issues.

There is a clean laundry which costs $1.50 for a wash and 25c per 10 minutes for the dryer.
There is some noise due to the planes from the naval air station at Whidbey Island. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this park. From the telephone call to make the reservation to the moment we left, we experienced the best customer service we have experienced in a very long time. From Hector, Marla, Rick and all of the support personnel we were very well taken care of. The park was very clean, large sites and clean amenities. The park is in a forested area and well maintained. We planned on staying for 3 weeks, but stayed for 2 months from July to Sept. and paid the monthly rate of $575 + elec. We were there for the wind storm and also lost power for 2 days. The staff did everything they could to make everyone comfortable. The park was cleaned up quickly of all of the storm debris and we were all back to normal very quickly. I could say a lot more but other reviews have the same opinion of how great this place is. We will definitely return here. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whale watching: Deception Pass Tours. We really enjoyed it. The boat goes out under the Deception Pass Bridge which is pretty cool.
