The park setting is not very pretty and the spaces are tight. We were in an area with shorter-stay campers and could easily have joined in the conversation of campers behind us. There are many sites that appear to be for longer stays with wooden step entrances, flower pots, etc. We even had to cut short a walk due to an angry dog (leash attached to collar, but running free) from one of those campers. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely go to Washington Park. There is a paved trail on the perimeter that allows views of the ferries and lovely seascapes and there are several good off-path hiking trails available. It’s a lovely park.

This was our first site with our new trailer. Can’t speak for experienced RVers, but for a rookie, this place was great. Full hook ups and a fire pit. We could see our neighbors, but felt like they were far enough away that it seemed pretty private. Stayed in site B4. Very close to town for groceries. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

New owners. Very nice office greeting. We had rock solid wifi. Cable TV worked fine. We were in B13 up top not far from the office. Fun park to walk in. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We asked for a site where we could get Sat TV, and got it. Long, wide and level. There are many nice and cozy sites here with trees, shade, etc. Probably a site for whatever your likes are. We've been here before and will be back if in the area again. Can hear the planes from Whidby Island Naval Air Station. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Worst showers ever in two years of full time rving. Timed, hard to adjust temperature, tiny, everything you bring with you gets wet as there are no shower curtains. Otherwise would be a good place to stay. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Heard good things about this RV park so we made our reservation. I'm glad that we did, it's a beautiful place and was the perfect way to make sure that we were able to catch the morning ferry to Vancouver Island. I agree with others who said it reminds them of a state park instead of a commercial facility. Great location for Deception Pass, Whidbey Island, and the ferry to Victoria. Large, level space between beautiful old trees. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Really, the only negative thing was the great number of low flying Navy jets overhead, but then again, the cost of freedom... My only caution would be to those who would annoyed or bothered by the constant air traffic. Military jets are usually VERY loud, and when they're coming in 2 minutes apart (well into the night/early morning) it can make for a very restless night. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We found this park to be wonderful for visiting the area. Spaces up top were a little close, some were in full sun but if you can get on D or E row they are shady, quite spacious, some are deluxe and have a covered patio. Sites are pretty level. Best dog walk I've ever seen, grassy with trees, huge. Also have large playground area, horshoes, etc. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Enjoyed our week-long stay here. It's a large park. The sites vary from shaded (A-C loops) to out in the open. Our pull-through site had a steep front, but level back. Owners very helpful in addressing issues. Very convenient to the Anacortes ferry. Would stay again. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is very convenient to the Anacortes. The Rockfish Grille in town has absolutely the best food. Visit La Conner, which is a fun town with good restaurants, and an amazing woodcraft store. There's also easy to get to kayaking at Bowman Bay. Be sure to visit old Cookeville on the east shore of Whidbey. The Camping World is about 20 miles east in Burlington. A cost-saving suggestion for visiting Friday Harbor is to park your car at the Anacortes ferry terminal and walk-on.

This park is located just south of Anacortes, WA and just off Highway #20. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were escorted to our site. Fees are payable with cash or debit card. The park is quite large with many long-term residents. Some of the sites are owned by campers who use them as seasonal sites or rent them out to the public. The roads are wide and covered with fine gravel so can be extremely dusty. Our site was large, level, wide open, back in, and with easy access. The E/W/S connections are well-placed including cable television. The site has a fire pit and picnic table. The shower house is a long walk from our site. We would stay here again. There are many activities in this area with Deception Pass only a few kilometers to the south and Anacortes only a few to the north. A wide range of businesses in Anacortes for coffee, lunch, dining, sightseeing, and shopping.

I would actually give it 4.5 stars. We have RV camped in numerous sites around WA and this is one of the better. The spaces have plenty of room. The entire campground its clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly. I will go back and highly recommend the facility. Note: you must be careful exiting from the site onto the highway. Vehicles travel quickly on that road. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of our favourite parks to camp at; we used to have a tent trailer and they were just as friendly then as now when we have a big trailer. Staff are super kind. Note, they only take cash or debit (but if you're Canadian, your debit card may not work) - they were nice enough to let us stay the first night trusting that we would hit the bank for some cash on the second day. Restrooms/showers are really clean. Dog off leash area is not huge but is more than adequate. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
