Holiday weekend in a KOA. First time here. We didn't come here for the KOA we came to see the area. We were in the newer section-we have a big rig. We were on a corner lot so it was spacious but felt like a fishbowl. Dog park was all rocks, no grass. Our elderly dog can't walk on rocks any longer so we didn't use it. We couldn't lock in our satellite due to a huge tree across the road. There was a cable hook up but it didn't work. We weren't there to watch TV so it didn't matter. Verizon and AT&T Mobily worked ok. Had to report neighbor's wandering dogs. Staff took care of it. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

First time here, and was a little worried that we were in the old section
Really glad that the new site was fully booked
Old site have grass and trees
Which is great for a bit more shade and feel of camping in the woods
Showers are amazingly clean
Very kid friendly Campground

Overall Rating:

This is a nice KOA that is relatively easy to get to off of Hwy 5. There are two sections in this park, the front section is for smaller RVs and has lots of shade. The back section is more open and can accommodate both small and large RVs. To get to the back section you have to cross over a small narrow bridge to get to it but we had no problem with our 43' motorhome. Nice facilities in both areas of the park and there is an indoor pool in the front section. The office staff was very friendly and helpful and the employees frequent roam the grounds to pick up any loose trash and deliver firewood purchased in the office. Security gate up front requires a code for entry. Of all the KOAs we have stayed at, this one was probably the best with regard to space between sites as there was plenty of room. The only disappointment was a silly rule in that they ask you to always wear a paper wrist band throughout your stay, which we did not and we didn't notice any others wearing theirs either. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed here a week to visit the area. We stayed in the back section which is much more roomier between sites than the front. Very quiet. Could not hear the highway. WiFi was not that great...surprising. Water/electric were fine. Did not use the pool as it was too small, indoors and noisy. Bathrooms were spotless. Lots of places along the edges to walk the dog. Dog park was sufficient but we only used it once as our dog doesn't like dog parks. Very good room between coaches and, at an angle, which makes it seem roomier. Speed bumps in and out and are somewhat buried so watch for them. Not much room at the entrance to park when registering but the KOA person helped us find a spot. Entrance has a code box but it's down at car level so, with the coach, you have to get out, walk around to punch in the numbers. Burlington is only a few miles south where all the shopping is located. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The campsite was clean, though people were allowed to let their dogs wander (watch your step). Lots of smoky fires on the weekend. Security was annoying, and confusing (wrist bands??). We couldn't even have someone visit us up on the weekend. Be prepared for some tough security. All guests must register and cannot park by the office, making parking in the CG very tight. NO VISITORS ON THE WEEKEND! Our friend couldn't even use the bathroom (even our bathroom). We met a local neighbor, and they said that this KOA recently changed hands. When the new security measures were implemented (electric gate), the lines on weekend caused traffic problems. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

This KOA was very nice, off the interstate but close enough for access. The sites were level and roomy. They had two sections, the front sections was for the smaller rigs and tents with shade trees and the back section for the big rigs was in the open, clear of all obstacles once you drove over a very narrow bridge. The lawns were all neatly mowed and maintained. I noticed this KOA had a wonderful array of things for the children to do safely, therefore a terrific family park. We were in good proximity to the ferry for the San Juan Islands, the Cascade Loop, Bellingham. The folks at this park had all the full time/work campers in an area to themselves which I think is better than having them scattered through out the park. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

I truly think that KOAs, overall, have the most reliable campsites in the country. They're committed to cleanliness, service and spacious, welcoming campsites. We got a deluxe site which is why the pricing was a bit more than usual. We were off the freeway but close to a highway so the usual RV campsite noise was a background. The people in the campsite were super friendly and outgoing. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

Rate of $47/night includes 10% KOA discount and additional $25 discount for rewards points. Site was a gravel pull-thru that was level and had a concrete patio with picnic table and a fire pit. The site was FHU with 50 amps. The park WiFi was iffy. We had good Verizon cell reception but very weak internet reception. We had good DishTV satellite reception. The park has a narrow gated entry/exit access road and a very narrow bridge that leads to the big rig sites. The sites are nice, but the price is a negative factor. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Motorhome.

Despite # of calls, they didn't tell us about the road closure. Major changes since our last visit, have expanded park, upgraded facilities. Always enjoyed camping amidst the tall trees, and picking blackberries out by the creek. Bit taken back by all the security and rules; obviously reacting to some prior events. Had we had our family visit as in prior years, it would have been difficult. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Travel Trailer.

There are two sections to this park. We only needed 30 amp and were put in the older section which, unlike the new section, has trees and shade but also has very close sites that are a mixture of gravel and dirt with brown/green grass. The water and sewer were fine but the power was poor. If we used the AC or microwave, we needed to run the hot water tank and refrig on propane. If two draw items were used, i.e. hot water and microwave, etc., the voltage dipped into the red, well below 110. The park was far from full, but we were placed next to a long term tenant while there were 4 empty sites on the other side of us. We would stay again if we had to, but we would bite the bullet and stay in the 30/50 amp sites and pay the extra. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Exactly as others have described it. Great staff, owners friendly, lots to do on the site for everyone. There were wild blackberries in the rear section we picked. We stayed there a month to visit the area and the location was perfect. Cascade loop, anacortes, Boeing tour, ferry to BC, drive to Vancouver, hiking and biking all possible from here. Close to shopping too. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

It is easy to get in and out of the park. Interior roads are dirt and sites are dirt. The front, old part of the park is tighter with lots of trees. The back, new part of the park over the bridge has wider roads that are easy to maneuver, large sites and no trees so good for satellite. We were in a pull-thru in the new section with 50 amp FHU. The utilities were positioned mid-site and worked well. Wifi worked marginal. Strong Verizon signal. Clean new restroom. Friendly, helpful staff. With the high price comes higher expectations so dirt roads, dirt sites and poor Wifi are the reason for this rating. We camped at Burlington / Anacortes KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here as it was convenient for touring in area. We were in a section out back which is newer and has lots of grass. The pull throughs has plenty of room and space between was great.
