Overall Rating:

This CG proved a clean, comfortable respite from long hours on the road. The park owns a small marina. Both are located right on the Snake River. While the big draw for this area is Hells Canyon (see tip below), the town also offers a serious casino, state park and a large Wal-Mart and other shopping for resupply. The CG itself sports level concrete pads, paved internal roads (easily navigable), well-cared-for green grass, modern picnic table and double utility hook-ups on each side of the site. This not only allows a choice of front vs back connection, but it also offers an individual choice of how you want to position for the sun. Very clever. Curbside garbage pick-up was an appreciated service. Utilities were reliable and connections were easy. Cable quality was good, except for network stations; OTA reception solved this but, of course, did not offer as much selection. We chose OTA. Wi-Fi was spotty; dropped out during high usage periods but strong during odd hours. Verizon hot spot reception was excellent. Situated just off the intersection of WA-12 & WA-129, long-haul truckers and their exhaust brakes make for a noisy stay, day or night. For us, the pluses of this park outweigh the minuses; we heartily recommend it for those seeking modern, efficient and well-maintained accommodations. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The most efficient way to visit Hells Canyon from Clarkston is the Jet Boat & other waterborne tours. We should know; we decided to drive instead. Round trip, it took us 7 hours! You can, however, see some stunning country if you can handle long, endless winding mountain roads.

Overall Rating:

Very nice park on the Snake river, adjacent to a marina. Nice welcome. Site was very good - concrete, very wide, utilities on both sides of pull thru to allow you to park in either direction. Utilities all worked well although cable had limited channels and poor reception on some channels. High water pressure, recommend a pressure regulator. Bathrooms were individual and kept in clean condition. Interior roads were paved and plenty wide. Good room between sites with grassy islands and picnic tables. Some truck noise from highway but not too bad on interior sites. Boundary sites could have noise problems. Walmart, COSTCO, Dutch Bros, and Starbucks all pretty close by. A few restaurants in town but we didn't try any. Decent golf course across the street...Country Club but open to the public and very friendly. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very nice and well maintained park with concrete and grassy level sites. Located right by the marina on the outskirts of Clarkston. Short drive to Lewiston ID right across the river and to beautiful parks with bike paths near the river on both sides. Other reviewers complained about the noise - it is true that the park is next to the highway, however we stayed there for a week and were never bothered by it, it wasn't so bad as some reviews portray it. Our spot was closer to the water though, so if you are sensitive, ask for a spot closer to the water. Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. Private clean showers and bathrooms, rec room, swimming pool and hot tub which we didn't use, but all looked very nice and inviting. Hells Canyon State park is very pretty. I definitely recommend this park! We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with large grassy sites and concrete pads. But location is a problem. Between 2 busy highways so lots of road noise. Also some long term rentals have noisy dogs. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Snake dancer river cruise was awesome! Took the half day cruise. Lunch was great. Terrific driver who knew his history too. Left right from dock where campground is. Couldn't be handier. Fun day. Downtown was disappointing. Not as much going on as we had hoped.

This is a nice park and marina. The park is immaculate and the folks running it are as nice as you'll come across. Very nice indoor pool with clearly marked hours. Large lending library. We were in site #1 which is probably the best in the park for view. Absolutely no problems with this park. Not much for dog walking and would love to see them add some recycling. We did suffer sprinkler overspray on the grassy side of the coach every morning. Hard water and tough spots. Outside of their control are the busy streets encircling the park. I don't think there are any restrictions on the trucks using engine breaks as you hear them as the come off the bridge. Parking on the edges would no doubt be quite noisy. Without the noise I'd of rated this park even higher. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Long, wide pull-through sites. We were given an end site with unobstructed view of the Snake River. Large concrete pad with hookups on both sides so that the RV can be parked facing either direction. Site was long enough to accommodate our 40' motorhome and toad. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

This CG is right one the Snake River. Everything is top notch, but very reasonable. The best CG we have had on this trip. However the WiFi is the norm we find, hardly works. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Trees and Bushes had grown considerably since our last visit to this park. Sites close to the water (for example 32 -30 are considered "Zone 1 Water View" and the cost per night is more. However, if you are not in the very end (western most sites: 1, 20, 30 or 40) your water view will be likely be mired by your neighbors rig. The park has a very nice indoor hot tub and pool with water depths from 3 to 5 feet. Pool temp could be slightly warmer but the hot tub was perfect. If you follow the road leading under the big Red Wolf bridge, you'll find a road that leads down to WalMart. Costco is near there and the paddle boat American Empress docks in that area. When exiting the park, there is a sharp hump which your fifth wheel hitch may not like. We sneak out the emergency exit. Also take the Red Wolf bridge if you want to avoid down town which has narrow streets and dangerously low tree branches. Lots of them. In the past we have stayed at the other park but they were full. During the height of the RV season, I'm sure this park will be full also. The Hells Canyon park is located at the junction of two very busy roads. During the day, it's quit noisy. The "Dog Run" has a huge sign pointing to its location. It's there fenced but tiny. Your dog won't get much exercise in that tiny pen. Finally, the wifi is barely adequate. 0.27 MB down and 1.15 MB up checked with speedof.me on a sunny warm Sunday afternoon. But all considered, I'd return again if in the area. The area has few choices. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

My wife and I suggest that the person in the office who placed us needs to be more congenial as a host. RV travelers get the first sense of the park from that individual. The park was well kept with very good sites and likewise level concrete. There is a small dog area and fenced to allow off leash, but many of the longer tenants seemed to avoid the area. Our site was near a busy intersection and quite noisy since it had no foliage or barrier reducers. Additionally, the wifi was poor most of the time even though there was a tower close. The poor wifi was probably due to many units using it and not well boosted from the main office. Overall, it was a nice park but has a few concerns noted that will keep us from returning. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is all paved with cement sites. The sites are wide and long. There are mostly pull troughs. The park is easy to move around with any size rig. The sites have hook-ups on both sides of the sites so you can choose which way you want to come into the site. The pool is indoor. The workers are nice and helpful. Highly recommend this park if you are in the area. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park right along the marina on the Snake River. The area is set into the bottom of a deep canyon. Nice concrete pads and interior roads. Very nice wide sites. We didn't use the cable, as the satellite reception was great. The Internet was pretty good as well. We were planning on using the pool but it was indoor and the weather seemed to suggest outside to us. Probably great at other times. We camped at Hells Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Took jet boat ride on Snake River 60 miles up the river. Great Captain, great lunch. Seems pricey at $120 per adult, but worth the price. (Hells Canyon Snake Dancer Jet Boat). 30 mile paved bike trail along Snake.
