We stayed here two nights on our way west to visit family near Everett. It was our resting stop on a long road trip section, and it was a nice respite. We got a site that backed right up to the river, and we were pretty grateful to see the high bank - that's what keeps the water where it belongs! We were able to put our chairs out on top of the bank and enjoy the river rushing by in the evening. We stayed on Sunday and Monday evening, so the park wasn't full and we felt like we had plenty of room. There's a pond nearby that you can walk to if you like exercise, and we saw frisbee golf stations along the way. You can also walk into Cle Elum (again, if you like to get your exercise). We did that twice for dinner, and although there's really no sidewalk for most of the walk, there's not a lot of traffic either. The campground is in the process of growing and improving, and it looks like they've got a good plan. Showers were clean, 25 cents per 3 minutes. There are paths around the campground and near the river, but be sure to put on the bug spray. Like most wooded places in summer, there are mosquitoes and other bugs. We enjoyed our brief stay here. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Cle Elum can be reached with a short walk (or drive). Across the freeway and over the train tracks you will find a few historic buildings and some murals. We ate twice at El Caporal, it was that good. Check out the Kiwanis pond, we saw three otters playing there. The river has breached the other two ponds that used to be accessible, but it's an amazing sight and worth the walk.

We stopped here for 1 night on the way to Seattle. It's a nice enough park. Very close to the freeway, so you hear "white noise" from the traffic. The river is on the other side of a high bank, so you can't view it from the campsites. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Travel Trailer.

Park worked for our 43' 5th wheel. It's right off I-90 and you have road noise and train noise throughout the night. It's a gated park which is nice. It is dusty because of the dirt sites. We had to switch sites during our stay because they didn't have a site with sewer available for the entire week. Only the back-ins have sewer. The pull thrus do not. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Beware of the pine tar. It got on our truck so we parked it in the gravel/dirt parking area so it wouldn't continue to get pine tar dropped on it.

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Invited to a potluck and movie night when we arrived. Gated park which is always nice. Sites are dirt/grass but our site was very level. Did not have to disconnect. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Fifth Wheel.

The Safeway in town is the only grocery store that services 5 towns so don't go shopping on a Friday evening.

This beautiful park has new owners as of April 2017. The new owner and managers really cleaned up this park and added a dog park, a secure RV storage lot and remodeled the RV essentials store on site. They cleaned up the campsites, made the sites level, added WiFi, created a secure gated entrance, created dry camping areas around the pond and have plans to expand. It's a popular park with RV travel clubs who can use the clubhouse for potlucks and gatherings. It's a family friendly park with outdoor movies on weekends in the summer. We loved the trail along the river & fly fishing right there in camp. It was a great stay! We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Fifth Wheel.

New managers were rude. They put me in a site that was too small (no room for slideouts) and refused to move me. Rude to my guests that tried to come into the park, claimed I was not staying there. Will not stay here again and I have been staying in park for about 6 years, even stored my RV there. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Motorhome.

Stayed for a night on our way through the area. Park was convenient to the highway when arriving from the east, departure to continue westbound a little tricky as you have to go through Cle Elum. Park is in a heavily forested area, but the sunshine did find its way down to our site. Found staff friendly and helpful. Will stay again. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one night. It is pretty quiet, close to the Yakima River. There is a walking trail alongside the river. The park is nestled in the trees, our spot was shady, but not too shady. I would consider it rather rustic. Friendly staff. There are laundry facilities with 3 washers and 3 dryers. $1.00 to wash and $1.00 to dry. There is a restroom with showers, 75 cents for 9 minutes, but we used our own. It seemed like it could have used a good scrubbing. That's just my opinion, and I'm pretty picky about that kind of thing. The sites were wide enough, we didn't feel crowded. There were trees that were pretty close to our rv. One thing that I would say is beware of auto programming your t.v. if you have children, as there were several x-rated channels. We were not expecting that, that has never happened anywhere else we have stayed. Might be a good idea to mention that in the campground rules and information letter you receive when you arrive. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Motorhome.

This park was OK for an overnight, but not somewhere we would want to stay. The good part: there is a nice river to walk along for a bit. The less-than-good parts: highway noise is noticable, neighbors are very close - it's like a parking lot, restrooms are unpleasant. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Motorhome.

This is a well kept rustic park right off I-90. Our pull through site was long enough, but narrow. The park is right on the Yakima River however there is a four foot berm so you have to go up on the berm to see the water. People were walking along the berm and it's wide enough to take your chairs up there. I got satellite. We did not have a sewer connection, but we were only staying for one night. There is an RV service facility on site. I don't know anything about it because we arrived late on Saturday. Next time I would stay for a couple of nights. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Motorhome.

This is a small park with few sites suitable for big rigs, and although the interior road is a bit tight, with care you can maneuver into one of the two or three long grass and gravel pull-thrus. Lots of trees, but a fairly clear shot for the satellite, with fair Verizon cell and data reception. The free cable TV was extensive and clear. Fairly quiet, with a few long term RVs and friendly owners/hosts and a large store. Considering that there are no sewer hookups or WiFi, the nightly rate is at the top end of what we would expect for a park with few amenities. Anyone with a rig over 32' should probably call ahead for reservations since the larger sites are few. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Motorhome.

This is a great park for an overnight stop. There are only a few pull throughs that will accommodate larger rigs. There is lots of shade and its very nice camping among the trees. We enjoyed the river walk and did a loop around. You can also walk into town from the campground. Friendly, helpful staff at this park. Will stay again on our travels. Nice location well off the highway, with great access to Cle Elum. Very friendly, honest folks. Facilities were clean, but not sparkling clean. Sites were very narrow, had to dodge trees to walk around the trailer, but the good news is that there is shade. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Park & Center in a Travel Trailer.
