After checking in, we were given this route: north drive, right turn to east drive, left turn on main street, right turn into pull thru. There was a huge problem with the turn onto main street. It was a tight turn, there were 3 vehicles in front of trailers on main street at the turning point, there was a large bush and a utility post to the left and a large tree to the right. In trying to swing wide right, I was caught up in tree limbs. I called the office to advise I couldn't make that turn. She replied in a condescending manner, "others have made that turn". Fortunately a great employee there, Phyllis, showed up. She immediately saw the problem and took action to cut the tree limbs out of the way. She recognized the problem with the turn and suggested we take another route to our site...which we did. The site was grass and required leveling. There were no sewer hookups because of proximity to river. We figured no problem staying contained for three days. When we used the showers, we discovered they charged paying guests (like us) a dollar for five minutes. And they also charged a dollar a day for our very small dog. Also, no WiFi at our site. Laundry was 2 bucks a load each for both the washer and dryer. There were tent sites across the road from our site. There were two trash barrels near the tent site. Both were overflowing with trash! When we were pulling out, we discovered our landing gear was dragging because the site was a couple inches below the road level. We had to raise the wheels to get out. Needless to say, we won't be staying here again. We don't care to be nickled and dimed. - marvls

Primarily a place for people to fish and/or reside seasonally or permanently. This park is right along the banks of the Kalama River in a pretty setting, but it's also very close to I-5 and some train tracks. Given that it was early spring and cold and we didn't keep any windows open, we weren't bothered by noise from either. The office was closed when we arrived, but we were able to check in at the bar, where the bartender/owner/manager(?) broke off his cribbage game with the only customer in the place just long enough to get the job done. Our site was small, but adequate for our rig. The main restroom/shower building was closed ("we're remodeling it") and we didn't use the other facility which was farther away from our site so i can't comment on them. Besides the bar, there is a camp store and a small cafe where we had breakfast in the morning. Service was friendly, but the food was only so-so. Seems to be a popular place with the locals though. All in all, this is a pretty old, slightly run-down, basic sort of campground that will appeal mostly to those who want to fish the river in season. - BruceandKathyWA

A bit worn. Right off the highway but not a destination resort. Nice people but not a wonderful place. - Boatrvers

We have stayed here multiple times. We prefer the pull-thru sites, but have stayed in others facing the river. In those (the one facing the river but not pull thru sites, the hookups will be on the passenger side ‘IF’ you have a toad and want to park it on the driver’s side). All doable for us, but one has the run the connections under the MoHo. If you have no tow, not an issue. The WiFi has recently been updated and was robust. One of our favorite stays on this stretch as ships ply the Columbia River right in front of you. - FPA
Sep 2019 - $52.00
Quiet and tranquil location on the Columbia River with easy access to I-5. Sites are large with ample room for our motorhome and car. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. Staff was attentive and friendly. Large grassy area in front to relax and watch river traffic. The bathrooms and laundry were well maintained and spotless. Close to Portland and surrounding area with plenty of things to see and do while in the area. Would stay here again and highly recommend this park for a relaxing stay. - LarryB

Big rig friendly with long pull through gravel sites with a front row seat to watch ship traffic on the Columbia River. Super clean, quiet, safe and friendly. Awesome stopover. - barbielab

Rude! Rude! Rude! From the moment of check in. We were there as traveling nurses from January-April this year. They claim to be pet friendly but they aren't. They expect you to walk a good block in the middle of the night to an area right off their property under a city bridge with no lights. It's scary. The town is safe enough but, as a woman, it freaked me out. Always looking over my shoulder for strangers. The manager is a witch. VERY RUDE! We were harassed about so many things and we felt like we had to suck up to keep the peace. The managers live in a house that sits above the RV sites with large windows and cameras everywhere. Big Brother is ALWAYS watching. It was weird. And we own a nice RV, are good, clean, professional people. We left as soon as we could and moved out to a friend's property. Would never go back again. It would be fine for a couple of nights but if you need a long term place to stay, think twice. Especially if you have kids or a pet. - goofygirl2004
Jan 2017 - $45.00
People on the front desk very unfriendly. This place is run like a military base. The site was not plowed and we had to deal with trucking through snow. I would never stay here again. - pretty girl
Sep 2016 - $40.00
This park is satisfactory place to stay near hwy 5. We stay here in order to play the Lewis River Golf course which is 10 minutes away and beautiful. Tight quarters, full hook ups but no cable TV. We were able to get TV with Antenna, so still some Sunday night football! Clean Laundry facility. Office is filled with lots of info on surrounding area. Dinner at the local Mexican food restaurant was great. We camped here in a 34ft fifth wheel. - Centralcoaster

We are one of the locals and find it very accessible. Good central base station to sight see and visit. One hour from Portland the coast Mt St. Helen's. The grounds are kept up. We stay 2 times a year. - Larry1950
Jul 2014 - $25.00
This is a county park, including playgrounds, play fields, ballfields, soccer, etc. There are only about 2 sites there are "big rig" friendly. In fact there is one entire loop that is tents/micro-trailers only. This is a very popular campground with the locals. While it was nearly full, only two of the guests were from out-of-town. There are many children's activities possible, between the playgrounds and ball-fields. We stayed there while attending a nearby meeting. If we were in the area, we would stay here again, and so would our friends that "camped" in a parking lot to attend the meeting. - wetterwashington

This is the 2nd time I have been here, it is a very nice park. It is very clean and well maintained. As such most of the motorhomes in the park are the real nice ones. I have an older motorhome and I feel a bit out of place when I go to a park like this. Sort of like going to a nice restaurant in jeans. None the less I needed a place and they had a spot available, they were very nice on the phone and had a camp host to check me in when I arrived late. I would recommend this place. - Nicole Cook
Aug 2019 - $50.00
Seventeen years ago, we spent the Fourth of July at this park. I correctly remembered it as a quiet, beautiful, urban facility that gave the impression of being out in the country. Our Class A then was smaller than our new midsize fifth wheel. A park of this vintage was not designed for the multiple slide, bigger rigs of today. They asked that our rig not extend over the grass (which is watered regularly) of our back in site. Our F350 crew cab short bed wouldn't fit so we had to park it opposite the row of sites in front of us. Not a big deal for me, but it might be for some. The new resorts we gravitate towards lack the generous space between sites Brookhaven offers. I'll gladly walk 30 yards to my tow vehicle to have a site where I can fully extend my awnings. We used the park as a home base to visit Mt. St. Helens & explore the area in general. It won't be another 17 years before we return. - biosensai
Jun 2019 - $43.00
Glad we discovered this gem, easy access from I-5. Quiet, good space for maneuvering our 45ft and toad. Didn't even have to disconnect prior to getting into the site! Very friendly check-in staff, helpful. Great walking trail on the "dike", next to the Coweeman River. Not many trees, but one was right in the way of the satellite dish. Ok, no problem for us; few channels over the air; didn't hook up the cable. We'll definitely stay here again. - TD 1981-Navy Vets

Stayed here 6 nights while visiting mom..level site, 30/50 AMP and water..all good..lunch in lodge all week plus dinner most nights..great ER as she was very informative and helpful..good spot - Kaysha15
Feb 2017 - $20.00
Open area for RV parking. Only 30AMP is available but a dump station is onsite. Great rate for Elks members and friendly staff during office hours. Lodge is locked during off hours and is next door to a church. Safeway and mall is right across the street. Grounds are compacted gravel but sites are level. Site are a tad short but for our 30ft and tow it was adequate. - ButterflyDogs
Sep 2016 - $20.00
A members only camping facility, but for Elks members this was set up very nice. All spots were pull-throughs, very convenient to I-5. You are camped on a dirt with a light rock base, so it could be dusty at times or muddy depending on weather. Very quiet at night, you do hear a train in the off distance, but did not seem to be bothered by it. We would definitely use this again if in the area. - monaco cruiser

The park was well maintained and rangers were friendly. RV spots were at capacity but plenty of tent spots open. A long walk to the day use area from camp location. We choose to drive down. There was disk golf and a little beach spot with river access. Kids enjoyed swimming in the river. There is a freeway overhead so it is not the most “nature” experience. - W00ty
Jun 2018 - $48.00
The park is nice, but it is definitely overpriced. We're used to Passport America and Good Sam discounts and typically get much higher value for what we paid here. They even charge you for the showers. The site was not very level and was quite noisy because of its proximity to the road. There was no cable, but the air reception was good. Unfortunately, we were not able to hike the trails because of heavy rain, so we can't comment with respect to the natural scenery. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly. However, we would not return because of the high price. - John A Guderian
Jan 2018 - $35.00
There is a new casino near this campground, and we are guessing that many of the people staying in the winter were at the casino. The campground was not crowded, and it was quiet. Most of the sites had some tree cover, but we picked one on the edge which did not. It is near (not exactly next to) the freeway (I-5). There is a lot of truck traffic, however the flip side is that this campground is very convenient to use and get back on I-5. There is also a new Shell station (which is quite expensive) in the same stop, so you can save yourself a second stop to get gas. There was certainly not any problems with the campground, but we paid less in Oregon the next night for a last minute reservation, for a nicer campground. Also, the website needs to be updated for WA State Parks. I talked to a Ranger later, and they said that they are only using the online reservation system for yurts and cabins, during the off season. This didn't seem as clear as it might be online. (Perhaps this is the fault of ReserveAmerica and not the parks.) In any case, many of us would gladly stay at a state park over any RV park - and they might get more off season business if it were clearer that this park (and Battle Ground Lake State Park), were open during the off seasons. - BScott33

We also had a good stay at this park. The only thing I would say differently is that there is some road noise (we were parked next to the road instead of being deeper in the park). But, I'd stay here again. - LFClary
Jul 2019 - $30.00
Our site was pre-assigned when we registered and we found the reservation sign posted on the site when we arrived. It is a nice small park with mostly paved sites and all appeared to be level. We had plenty of room for the motorhome and toad and there was a picnic table and fire ring. All of the sites have enough space that you could put awnings out even with slide-outs. It was near a road, but the road noise was never a problem. Very convenient to Portland, St Helens and the area around them and easy access to highway 30. Check in is at the port office which is by the boat ramp. We did not see a dump station. We will plan on staying there again. - Don Steward

Sep 2019 - $41.00
The draw back on this park is the road noise. The park is asphalt with green space between spaces. The WiFi was excellent. Something must have happened about a dog attack outside of the park concerning the long term residents and a short term resident. There are dog walk areas inside the park and off leash outside. The interior roads are easy to navigate. The spaces are tight. A parking space was provided for my tow on my site. I disconnected. - bikenorth51
Dec 2018 - $38.00
We have stayed here a few times and initially enjoyed our stay. During this recent stay, we had horrible internet (something we had experienced once before), so we decided to leave after first night. Unfortunately we had paid for three nights. When we asked for a refund of the remaining two nights, they refused to give it to us. I honestly don't understand that. Definitely do not recommend. - Kelbud
Jun 2018 - $40.00
We hadn't been at this park before. The office staff is very pleasant and helpful and check in was easy. All the spaces are VERY narrow and each space has a separate parking space for your tow/ed vehicle which is good because the interior roads are quite narrow as well. The pads are cement but ours wasn't particularly level and the sewer connections all seem to be uphill. Don't plan on spending time in your lounger as there isn't much "living space" between you & the rig next door but there are some nice grassy areas with trees & picnic tables if you want to sit outside. This park does not have cable and we were unable to get any channels on our antenna. Since we do not have a satellite it was pretty frustrating. We don't watch much TV but we do appreciate being able to see the evening news. There are 81 sites in this park and the laundry consists of 2 washers and 2 dryers so timing is everything. There is ONE coin-operated shower. We use the shower in our rig but thought it was pretty cheesy to charge people to shower when they are paying $40/night to stay there. The comments about traffic noise are quite accurate. The freeway traffic noise is constant but not horrible. But...the semi-trucks (and there are many) who Jake Brake all the way down the exit ramp (which is right next to the park) will set your teeth on edge...especially at 2am. It appears there are quite a few people living here year 'round but no eyesores. This is a great park for a dog as there are lots of places to go for walks. Across the road from the office is a small strip mall with a pizza place, a wine bar/bistro, a Subway and a Thai place, all with good food but there are no grocery stores closer than about 10 miles so plan accordingly. We might stop here for an overnight but another 2-week stay is not likely. - TwoE's
