You will be near the freeway, train tracks, and airport. Expect a lot of noise. Spaces are very close together, but all paved. Staff was efficient, but not overly friendly. There are many signs telling you what not to do. The bathrooms near us were under construction and the walk to the open ones was a bit of a jaunt. I will not stay here again. - mrslalanne

We are full timing it and are Thousand Trails members and this is one of those Encore$ parks so we had to pay $20 a night. This is a very large park which is 90% capacitated with full timers who all have some nice (big) rigs and maintain their sites impeccably. I get the impression the people here probably work in the city (Portland). They put us in the transient section near the road where traffic noise started around 5am lasting all day and into the evening. Then there is the air traffic noise starting at around the same time as the Portland airport is not far away. With all that said, if your coming to relax and get away from it all, this is probably not the best park to do so.We did not use the shower or bathroom facilities because a hot water pipe was broken when we arrived (but was repaired the next day) and also because every site is provided with full hook ups. The grounds are very well maintained and each site is on a concrete pad. My husband took advantage of the fitness center, which is kind of rare for Thousand Trails, he said they had updated equipment with a nice variety. Love the people here, everyone just seems more relaxed. We would stay here again as we have friends and family in the area and would be convenient for our rig and less expensive than staying in a hotel. - Glamour Glampers

Tight spots, all in row.We were right by the road. Pool is small for this many people. Just average. - john55

The park was well maintained and rangers were friendly. RV spots were at capacity but plenty of tent spots open. A long walk to the day use area from camp location. We choose to drive down. There was disk golf and a little beach spot with river access. Kids enjoyed swimming in the river. There is a freeway overhead so it is not the most “nature” experience. - W00ty
Jun 2018 - $48.00
The park is nice, but it is definitely overpriced. We're used to Passport America and Good Sam discounts and typically get much higher value for what we paid here. They even charge you for the showers. The site was not very level and was quite noisy because of its proximity to the road. There was no cable, but the air reception was good. Unfortunately, we were not able to hike the trails because of heavy rain, so we can't comment with respect to the natural scenery. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly. However, we would not return because of the high price. - John A Guderian

There is a new casino near this campground, and we are guessing that many of the people staying in the winter were at the casino. The campground was not crowded, and it was quiet. Most of the sites had some tree cover, but we picked one on the edge which did not. It is near (not exactly next to) the freeway (I-5). There is a lot of truck traffic, however the flip side is that this campground is very convenient to use and get back on I-5. There is also a new Shell station (which is quite expensive) in the same stop, so you can save yourself a second stop to get gas. There was certainly not any problems with the campground, but we paid less in Oregon the next night for a last minute reservation, for a nicer campground. Also, the website needs to be updated for WA State Parks. I talked to a Ranger later, and they said that they are only using the online reservation system for yurts and cabins, during the off season. This didn't seem as clear as it might be online. (Perhaps this is the fault of ReserveAmerica and not the parks.) In any case, many of us would gladly stay at a state park over any RV park - and they might get more off season business if it were clearer that this park (and Battle Ground Lake State Park), were open during the off seasons. - BScott33

Sep 2019 - $41.00
The draw back on this park is the road noise. The park is asphalt with green space between spaces. The WiFi was excellent. Something must have happened about a dog attack outside of the park concerning the long term residents and a short term resident. There are dog walk areas inside the park and off leash outside. The interior roads are easy to navigate. The spaces are tight. A parking space was provided for my tow on my site. I disconnected. - bikenorth51
Dec 2018 - $38.00
We have stayed here a few times and initially enjoyed our stay. During this recent stay, we had horrible internet (something we had experienced once before), so we decided to leave after first night. Unfortunately we had paid for three nights. When we asked for a refund of the remaining two nights, they refused to give it to us. I honestly don't understand that. Definitely do not recommend. - Kelbud
Jun 2018 - $40.00
We hadn't been at this park before. The office staff is very pleasant and helpful and check in was easy. All the spaces are VERY narrow and each space has a separate parking space for your tow/ed vehicle which is good because the interior roads are quite narrow as well. The pads are cement but ours wasn't particularly level and the sewer connections all seem to be uphill. Don't plan on spending time in your lounger as there isn't much "living space" between you & the rig next door but there are some nice grassy areas with trees & picnic tables if you want to sit outside. This park does not have cable and we were unable to get any channels on our antenna. Since we do not have a satellite it was pretty frustrating. We don't watch much TV but we do appreciate being able to see the evening news. There are 81 sites in this park and the laundry consists of 2 washers and 2 dryers so timing is everything. There is ONE coin-operated shower. We use the shower in our rig but thought it was pretty cheesy to charge people to shower when they are paying $40/night to stay there. The comments about traffic noise are quite accurate. The freeway traffic noise is constant but not horrible. But...the semi-trucks (and there are many) who Jake Brake all the way down the exit ramp (which is right next to the park) will set your teeth on edge...especially at 2am. It appears there are quite a few people living here year 'round but no eyesores. This is a great park for a dog as there are lots of places to go for walks. Across the road from the office is a small strip mall with a pizza place, a wine bar/bistro, a Subway and a Thai place, all with good food but there are no grocery stores closer than about 10 miles so plan accordingly. We might stop here for an overnight but another 2-week stay is not likely. - TwoE's

Rude! Rude! Rude! From the moment of check in. We were there as traveling nurses from January-April this year. They claim to be pet friendly but they aren't. They expect you to walk a good block in the middle of the night to an area right off their property under a city bridge with no lights. It's scary. The town is safe enough but, as a woman, it freaked me out. Always looking over my shoulder for strangers. The manager is a witch. VERY RUDE! We were harassed about so many things and we felt like we had to suck up to keep the peace. The managers live in a house that sits above the RV sites with large windows and cameras everywhere. Big Brother is ALWAYS watching. It was weird. And we own a nice RV, are good, clean, professional people. We left as soon as we could and moved out to a friend's property. Would never go back again. It would be fine for a couple of nights but if you need a long term place to stay, think twice. Especially if you have kids or a pet. - goofygirl2004

People on the front desk very unfriendly. This place is run like a military base. The site was not plowed and we had to deal with trucking through snow. I would never stay here again. - pretty girl
Sep 2016 - $40.00
This park is satisfactory place to stay near hwy 5. We stay here in order to play the Lewis River Golf course which is 10 minutes away and beautiful. Tight quarters, full hook ups but no cable TV. We were able to get TV with Antenna, so still some Sunday night football! Clean Laundry facility. Office is filled with lots of info on surrounding area. Dinner at the local Mexican food restaurant was great. We camped here in a 34ft fifth wheel. - Centralcoaster

Apr 2017 - $42.00
I arrived to stay the host was friendly as I arrived. Gave me directions to the site full of long term trailers very tight because of vehicles parked in the road. Got to site, it was a mud hole. Mud out side my door 3 inches deep plus a mud puddle 2 feet across and 3 inches deep full of water. No cable, ask about setting up my dish the manager was rude told me no. I had no tv at this park at all. There are many very large fir trees in the park that are dead, some day will blow down with a high wind, need to be removed asap. Was drawing 26 amp on the 50 amp service the circuit, was off when I returned after several hours. I ask the manager if electric was off he said no. I told him mine was off he told me it was my coach I told him I checked the coach. It is in the park the manager said I was using too much power. The manager went to the meter box site the turned the circuit on again. I looked it was not a 50 amp plus breaker on his panel box it looked like a 20 amp breaker from where I was standing. It is a place to stay if there is no place else. Positive is had good wifi and it was quiet at night, most folks went to work about 5 am, never bothered me. - traveling lee
Jul 2014 - $30.00
This campground is in the country and good location to many things in this area. Lots of trees and full hook-up, BUT many of the sites are taken by what look to be full time people living here and not all of them are well kept, so kind of gives a unsettling feeling to me any way. There is room for some pretty large RVs here, and the nice ones are only here for short stay. Lots of trees, so that is nice. BUT the bathrooms are down right GROSS. I would not give my dog a bath in there. Sad they are making money and don't see a need to do something about cleaning up the bathrooms. It's a place to stay if you have things to do in this area, but make sure you have onboard what you need so you never have to go into the bathrooms. - laears

Cute little park in the trees. Thirty seven sites. Lots filled with residents. Tight, but accessible for big rigs. NO SATELLITE reception. AT&T ok. Good water pressure. We spent a week here. The PPA rate was for four nights and the remaining three nights was full price. Total, $153 for the week. - walt66

We have stayed here multiple times. We prefer the pull-thru sites, but have stayed in others facing the river. In those (the one facing the river but not pull thru sites, the hookups will be on the passenger side ‘IF’ you have a toad and want to park it on the driver’s side). All doable for us, but one has the run the connections under the MoHo. If you have no tow, not an issue. The WiFi has recently been updated and was robust. One of our favorite stays on this stretch as ships ply the Columbia River right in front of you. - FPA
Sep 2019 - $52.00
Quiet and tranquil location on the Columbia River with easy access to I-5. Sites are large with ample room for our motorhome and car. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. Staff was attentive and friendly. Large grassy area in front to relax and watch river traffic. The bathrooms and laundry were well maintained and spotless. Close to Portland and surrounding area with plenty of things to see and do while in the area. Would stay here again and highly recommend this park for a relaxing stay. - LarryB

Big rig friendly with long pull through gravel sites with a front row seat to watch ship traffic on the Columbia River. Super clean, quiet, safe and friendly. Awesome stopover. - barbielab

We also had a good stay at this park. The only thing I would say differently is that there is some road noise (we were parked next to the road instead of being deeper in the park). But, I'd stay here again. - LFClary
Jul 2019 - $30.00
Our site was pre-assigned when we registered and we found the reservation sign posted on the site when we arrived. It is a nice small park with mostly paved sites and all appeared to be level. We had plenty of room for the motorhome and toad and there was a picnic table and fire ring. All of the sites have enough space that you could put awnings out even with slide-outs. It was near a road, but the road noise was never a problem. Very convenient to Portland, St Helens and the area around them and easy access to highway 30. Check in is at the port office which is by the boat ramp. We did not see a dump station. We will plan on staying there again. - Don Steward

One of the few long stay parks in the area that still has some sites for under $500 a month. Most of the spaces are on gravel, except some of the back loop spaces are on concrete pads, all roads are gravel. Few permanent residents, but most are there for work on the Intel Campuses in Hillsboro are not permanent. Front Spaces rates breakdown at: Monthly: $375 Weekly: $140 Daily: $45 Back Spaces rates breakdown at: Monthly: $425 Weekly: $160 Daily: $50 Front spaces are mostly 30amp service, with a few spots that have 30 and 50 amp. Back spaces all have 50 amp service. Electricity is metered on monthly stays. There is no Wifi, Verizon Wireless is the best option for internet in the area, other Wireless carriers signals are weak. TV is by antenna, or your own satellite system. - The Redneck Express
Jun 2010 - $30.00
If you're looking for a long term stay RV Park, Island Cove is one of the few you'll find for under $500 a month in the Portland area that have monthly rates available (Multnomah County actually has a law not allowing extended stays at RV Parks). The closer together front side-sites are 30 amp and $350 a month, the back, more spaced out sites with the concrete pads and 50 amp service, "Premium" as the previous reviewer called them, are $400 a month. The park does have Wi-Fi, however, the speed can be hit and miss as its satellite based (No wired High Speed is available past the County Line). - The Redneck Express
Jun 2010 - $30.00
We did not stay here. We didn't have reservations, called and spoke to on-site manager who was very helpful and had a couple of open sites. We pulled in and were somewhat put off. Appears mostly long term residents, some sites were junky and on lawn area. The premium sites were cleaner with newer units on concrete pads but none available when we needed to stay. We were not willing to stay in the lower cost area, it is not our style of camping. Cash only at this park if you intend to stay: we were quoted $30/night. - KitandDH

Oct 2018 - $35.00
We stayed here for 3 nights, at a site with both electricity and water, and already have a state parks pass hence the price. The layout of the campsites is quite nice as it's possible to orient your trailer or tent or rig so that you don't see a neighbor from your primary window or door. The road winding around to the sites is very narrow and tight. Our 17' trailer + tow car had no trouble but big rigs will. We chose a back-in site. The road is paved and the sites are gravel. The lake is small and cozy and lovely. There are canoes & paddle boards for rent in the warmer months. The park is very quiet with tons of trees overhead and interesting walking trails throughout the park. The single dump site has both potable and non-potable water and was very clean -- potholes going in and out, though, so beware. - Weelyrd
Sep 2018 - $25.00
Very nice park, with lots of walking trails. Excellent cellular service (Verizon), and some sites have power and water. Not at the site that I chose, but there were water and power sites available. There is a dump station in the park. - Phil and Connie
