May 2018 - $25.00
We loved this campground. Quite small with only one loop which was perfect for the kids. Beautiful, lush trails that loop around the lake and into the nearby city park trail system. The lake is great for fishing in a non combustible engine boat or kayak. The swimming area is separate from the campground with a small park, bathrooms and picnic area. Campsites vary in size - pads are smaller and not good for over 30 foot trailers. Great level tent pads. Make reservations ahead of time and get a large lakeside site! - lewlindafoerster
Jun 2013 - $12.00
Beautiful state park with excellent hiking trails and lush, shady sites. Not for big rigs. There were a few 30' or larger RVs but most of the parking pads [lined with logs] are narrow but the sites are roomy and quite private. Gorgeous, well kept grounds and the lake is for non-motorized watercraft only, so quiet prevails. Excellent Verizon signal. Will definitely visit again. - mockturtle

Sep 2018 - $32.00
Easy to get in/out of. Sites all seem to be the same size with transient sites being pull-thru. Roads and sites are crushed stone and level. Utilities worked well and Wifi worked fine. Good Verizon signal. The highway sound didn't bother us too much because it was just this constant background noise. The train whistles, however, at any time of day or night were frighteningly loud. - cwier
Aug 2018 - $52.00
This is an average camping place. It's good enough to go to for an area park. There are gravel roads and sites with no picnic table. We stayed 4 days and heard the train once a day in the afternoon. They no longer take "Good Sam". This place was full the whole time we were here. The WiFi was on and off at best. - plp1280
Jun 2018 - $17.00
We stayed here for a month, thus the $17 cost. Price for a month was $480, includes electricity. The park is all gravel, and about 75% full of seasonal and long-term residents. Residents in the park are required to keep their sites clean. You can wash your car and RV here without a fee. Pull through and back in sites with room to park your second vehicle along side or in front, depending on length of RV. Sewer hookups are located at the extreme rear of the site and may require multiple lengths of hose to reach the inlet. Currently, you check in at the motel office; though that could change as there's talk of a new office building to be located within the park itself. There's a gas station, restaurant, and coffee kiosk in front. Yes, the trains go through, about 3-4 times a day, no set schedule, and the tracks are very close. - DiplomatTraveler

Jun 2019 - $13.00
It's such a pleasure to take a chance on a campground with no prior reviews and find it to be excellent. We loved this place. There is a reserved loop, a FCFS tent/RV Loop, and a hike-in area as well. We stayed in the FCFS Loop, and most sites were spacious, wooded, and private. Our site (9) was incredibly large and private, with giant moss covered trees and fern. The few pull-through sites weren't nearly as shady and private as the back-in sites. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. They have a small trailer as an office where they take payment and sell firewood and ice. We initially wanted to get into the reserved loop in hopes of getting a site with a view of the lake, but there are only a small handful with lake views through thick growth, and those book well in advance. We liked the lush forest of the FCFS area better anyway. The lake has a day use swimming and picnic area that wasn't very busy even on Father's Day. The swimming beach is very large, but it is primarily small gravel, so I winced at the barefoot swimmers gingerly stepping down the slope toward the water. There is a $5 charge to use the boat ramp, but no charge for kayaks and canoes. A hiking trail circles the lake and is maintained by volunteers, so the camp host warned us that they probably had not yet cleared all of it for the season. Indeed, we only made it a couple of miles (going counter clockwise) before the brush was too thick for my liking. The dam on the south side of the lake has interesting displays depicting its history and construction. The paved road ends just beyond the campground entrance, but we took our mountain bikes about 5 miles further on the gravel road, which was nice. Loads of raspberries ripening on bushes beside the road. This place is a gem, and well worth $25 (even better with 50% off). There was no Verizon signal, but the Tacoma Power office at the day use area has a guest WiFi that was strong and fast. The signal is plenty strong enough at the picnic tables on the grass across the driveway. - Libre RV

Clean and quiet park. No sewer, but decent 30amp and water. There is a dump station. Park is situated between a small lake (100’ from our site), and the Chehalis River about 100 yards away. - Ken Camp
Aug 2018 - $27.00
Lovely small, rural fishing venue. Maintained by hosts and the community this is a gem. Sites are level. Restrooms are immaculate and the fish cleaning and dumpstation are well designed. This little park is located adjacent to a stocked Lake and the Chehalis river. Trout in the lake, salmon in the river. Bring a pole. - Janet H
Jun 2017 - $25.00
A GEM is correct. Older reviews stated no wifi, but now there is. Very long and beautiful asphalt trail around the lake. The campground was built with handicap in mind, and they did a great job. Asphalt RV space we had (R 10) was not real level, but we used all of our blocks on the back tires of our Class C and got it up enough to function. Water and 30 amp hookup was good. The whole park is VERY QUIET and we loved it. If there had been sewer and cable, we would never leave! - Sharon and Gary

Pulled in with our 35ft. MH and was assigned space 3. Nice large site. Leaving the site includes sharp turn and sloped exit but had no issues. The Pub serves great dinners and has a nice assortment of micro brews. Lots of paths for walks in the rain forest. Very dog friendly. Will keep this RV park on my return list. - Treky
Aug 2018 - $30.00
This is a good park. Roads and sites are gravel/dirt but the park is small enough that it is not dirty or dusty. Some sites larger than others. Some have all shade, some partial and some pretty much full sun. Our site was plenty large enough for our 40MH and the tow and prett level. Very nice grassy area right out our door. The roads can be a little tight, but we were able to get in without touching any bushes. Good price for a full hook up site as well. There is no cable or over the air TV nor could we get satellite, but we could stream movies without ATT hot spot. The pub/smokehouse is where you check in . They have a good selection of micro brews on draught, and the Brisket dip sandwich is not to be missed! They also allow dogs inside and on the back deck. I would give the park another star, but the road noise from 101 is a little loud. It quiets down at night. Not alot for kids to do here. There is a 1/2 mile hiking trail right from the park which makes for a good place to walk a dog, or a human. There is also good road cycling on North River Road. Don't hesitate to stay here if you are in the area. - Jake21
Aug 2017 - $25.00
Very unique location. Clean facilities, roomy sites. A great get away. Patience when driving in the loop. 42ft, including tow, fit fine. The front has the larger pull through sites. Probably easiest for first timers to park at the pub, walk back to the office, and visit your site. It is not far. - Dp26

Jul 2017 - $35.00
A Very Nice, spacious park in a quiet woodland setting. - Momads
Aug 2014 - $27.00
Rate reflects price for a weekend visit (not including the online reservation fee). It's a small park in a slightly out-of-the-way place, but still proved very popular. The day use area has a mile or two of hiking trails, along with picnic areas. Campground was fully booked when we visited, with several tents and two or three cars parked at each site. Fortunately a state park ranger made a couple rounds in the evening, along with volunteer hosts who were very attentive. A handful of utility sites are on a loop by the entrance, but the most secluded sites are in the back of the park. Creek runs by many of the sites. However you are not allowed to set up tents on the grassy banks. Facilities were disappointing, even by state park standards. The bathhouse seems to be original to the park, and was very dirty and smelly. The coin-operated shower in the men's room doesn't drain properly, causing water to pool by the toilets and sinks. - RVNed
Aug 2006 - $21.00
This campground was very busy and noisy. I'm sure during the off season it would be a great place to stay. The utility sites are very close together and dusty. We were in site #2 and had 3 trees next to us which gave us more room than some of the other sites. There are only 6 utility sites and the rest are standard. The dump station is located just outside the park going north. This is a first come first serve park and if you get here by 2pm midweek you shouldn't have a problem getting in. There are 2 restrooms and 1 shower along with a very small store which carries ice and dry goods like soap and sponges, they do not stock food. We would stay here again as an overnighter. - jannie5

Spent a couple of days here visiting friends. This is our second time to stay and love this park and it's management personnel. The park is very clean and well maintained. All the efforts from their gardener is an extra bonus. Our site well suited our needs and all utilities were properly located and worked well. From the moment you arrive you are treated as family. Our stay was very enjoyable and we look forward to the next. The cookies are awesome. - LarryB
Jul 2019 - $20.00
This was a great place to stay on our travels through Washington. Everything was well taken care of and clean. The park itself was quiet day and night even though highway 12 is nearby. The laundry room was immaculate and the equipment was all in good working order. There were flowers throughout the park as well as shade trees. Sites were large with room for our 5th wheel and truck to park side-by-side. Employees were super. All that we met were friendly and went out of their way to help. At least half of the park is long term campers, but we transients are for the most part in a separate area. That said, the long term campers were very friendly and made us feel at home. They offer cable here, but we used our Dish and it worked well. Verizon MiFi and AT&T cell phones worked fine, too. We did not have any OTA TV in this park. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Rate reflects our Passport America membership rate. - Bobbi1948
Jun 2019 - $22.00
The staff was great, very friendly and helpful (Work Campers). Getting into our back in site was a little tight. We were close on either side and the sites are back to back, I had to push my tow dolly in and back the coach over it. There was just enough room to park the car in front of the coach. The cable TV worked well and had good Verizon service. We only stayed a night as we were traveling to Olympic NP and would stay again if in the area, just not more than a couple of days. - Tfrout

This park is easy to get in and out and easy to navigate. Roads paved and sites are gravel. Utilities are at the back of the site and worked well. The restroom was clean. Laundry is good price and clean. We wanted to use the WiFi but it was not working. Verizon worked fine. They've been making some improvements to the park such as new gravel on some sites and running new electricity and posts at some sites. This work on the sites has eliminated, at least for now, any grass in those sites with hopes that they will reseed. There is a lot of noise from traffic and train whistles. - cwier

This park is easy to get to and navigation within is easy. Interior roads are paved and sites are grass. Sites are pretty level and close together. Utilities are all at the back of the site. Did not use the cable or Wifi. Verizon worked pretty well. Restrooms were clean. Price is ROD. - cwier

This is an older park behind a more modern park in Elma. We have stayed here before and feel it has gone downhill over the years. Mostly dirt and dead grass spaces with full hookups. It still is a great place to stay overnight. Very quiet and peaceful. All sites are back-in. We were told to choose a space and set up. Lots of people there - it was almost full. A lot of full-time RVs, which were old, but neatly cared for. We only stayed overnight, so we didn't do anything. There are some fast food places for a quick bite to eat. We would stay here again if in the area. - WSKeifer

A very lovely park along the river. Very pleasant couple greeted our arrival. Very quiet here. Great area for walking the herd (5 small dogs). They offer a community fire pit and all the wood you may need. - manonthemtn
Aug 2019 - $42.00
As usual, we had a FHU, pull through site that was satellite friendly. As others have noted, the sites are narrow and, because the park is fairly full most of the summer, it feels a bit cramped. The bathrooms and laundry facilities were fine. I was able to get on the internet long enough to check my e-mail. - Jerry S
Aug 2019 - $46.00
We camped here for 3 nights to finish touring Olympic National Park. The city of Holquiam is dingy so we didn't venture out to much. This is an ok stop over park, the check in was easy and they have baked goodies for guests. Lots of folks living here full-time or long term most 20 year or older trailers. The sites are situated in a big parking lot so there is no privacy. It is advertised as having grass at each site, but you get weeds. The tent areas (along the river) have fie pits, but the RV's have to use a large communal fire pit... kind-a of strange. . WIFI is weak at best. I would not camp here again.... We camped at Hoquiam River RV Park in a Motorhome. - Leola Belle

The nicest people run this place. It's not very big, but the sites are level and some are good for big rigs, but not all would be wide enough. Pull in places with views of the water outside your front window. The highway is very close, but not noisy. I didn't use the WiFi but phone service was good on Verizon. - rfarkle
Oct 2017 - $30.00
We stopped here for one night on our way south on Hwy 101. All the sites are right on the river and all are back-in. Our site was almost level - had to use Lynx levelers on one side. There are no other ammenities like showers, toilets or wifi, so I didn't rate the cleanliness category. The price seems a little high considering, but didn't want to drive further south looking. We pulled in to our site as the electric box is at the entrance of the site on the left side. The pads are gravel and grass. The park info said there were pull-thru sites but I didn't see any. - Ravengirl
Aug 2016 - $25.00
This is a no frills park. It is co-located with a catamaran building business just off highway 101 on the Willapa River. 30amp hookup with water worked well. No sewer but there is a dump on property for use. Internal road is good and some sites are tight but works. - mlbarry
