Riverside State Park apparently has different sites; we stayed at Bowl and Pitcher campground in our 36' Class A, with water and electric. Along with the camp fee, there is an $8 reservation and $5 out of state fee. While we enjoyed our site, right on the river, and extremely spacious in the pines, the fee seemed a tad high. We won't be back though because there is a very narrow road with drop offs to the river, Downriver Drive, that you have to take to get to the park. At one point another coach came at us and I had to pull over, almost touching the cliff face, and his wheels were right on the edge. Plan your approach if coming from I-90. Exit 181 will take you through town and a neighborhood. Exit 180 is a bit better. Exit 277 is the best bet to avoid congestion. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Review for Riverside State Park - 9 Mile Recreation Area. Cost includes all fees. Unusual little park off the beaten path. Small sign right at the entrance road, so watch for it! This park is popular with fishermen and locals, so a lot of day usage. They have a few FHU sites but most are W&E. The on way road in is gravel and passes thru the pine trees. Great views of the river! Very few campers mid week. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This was a nice little park for an overnight stay, although a little off the beaten path from I-90. But $58.00 is too steep which includes $5.00 non resident deposit and $8.00 for entrance fee. $39.00 a night would have been more in line for the quality provided. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the scenery was nice, and the restrooms were adequate. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The spaces are small and poorly defined. The majority of spaces are on a single level of grass, with no visible division between spaces. They are not level from front to back. The park's common area is immediately adjacent. Most spaces don't have a fire ring - though some do. I couldn't figure out why some places had one but my site didn't. I found the campground staff to be a little less than competent. When I checked in, they didn't know whether or not the space was still occupied. I checked in after the appointed time, and they don't know if the space is open? It was Memorial Day weekend. Strangely, some spaces were never filled. The park is right on the Spokane River. Most of my fellow campers were very nice and helpful. Some were drunk or stoned. Despite the holiday weekend, there was no enforcement of park rules. I had to personally confront three campers who were playing a lawn bowling game through my campsite. That's just not acceptable. I would never stay here again. Most Washington State Parks are good to great. Nine Mile Falls is a bad exception to the rule. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Really cool park, and close to town, and plus & minus with that. What we like was close to airport for conference, and wanted to camp close by. Our site was on the river, and all are on lower loop. Bring a bike, or hiking boots. Also close by in a golf, and discus golf. Sites are level, good cell, clean restrooms. Early season, so not a lot of staff. This place must be full all season in the summer. The river run through here fast, but very cool. Would visit again. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This review is for the Bowl and Pitcher campground. The rate and review are for the non-hookup, dry camping section of the park. The rate does not include the $8 reservation fee or the $5 non-resident fee to bring the cost to over $33 per night (four nights camping) for a parking spot in a dirt field - far too expensive. The hook-up sites are much nicer, but book up early. The non-hookup sites are located next to the entry road with lots of traffic. The sites are laid out in a haphazard order and really are nothing but vaguely defined spaces in the dirt, spaces fairly close together and with nothing for visual separation. There is nothing remotely pleasant about it. As vehicles idle while waiting in line for the entry booth the campground has the feel of a freeway toll booth. To add injury to insult, there was a very, very bright light on the side of the restrooms that bathed the campground in a harsh bright light all night long. It had both train and plane sounds. We were able to get satellite with our portable dish and Verizon data and voice were strong. It is a bit of a trip through city traffic to get here from Interstate. Check the park web site or reservation e-mail for the best route as there are closed roads on the route that your GPS will take you. We will not be returning to this campground. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park, full of Ponderosa Pines. Plenty of room between sites. Friendly staff. Water is still off for winter...power though and a winter water faucet at entrance to fill tanks.

Get there via Gun Club road to avoid so much crowded residential traveling. You would take Maple to Francis then out to Gun Club road and enter the park from the north. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I must not be a typical RVr because I don't go to a state park with high expectations for services. If your top 5 must haves are about hookups, WIFI etc then you should go to an RV park next to the freeway. This a beautiful state park along the river that oh by the way has some hookups. Most hookup sites were taken so we dry camped in nice spot away from the crowded utility sites. Nice trails across the river for hiking and biking. Very quiet place for sleeping unlike a freeway RV park! We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at Bowl and Pitcher State park for 5 days during the 4th of July in our 40' rig. We made reservations early so check in was easy. Getting to our site was easy. While the on line map shows pull thrus, our site was back in only as well as all the others except for the camp host. We booked space 12 which was close to the river. The spots are large and spacious and there is room for your slide outs and awnings. The sites are not level so you may need blocks or levelers. The utilities were all in the right place and in working order. Our satellite worked fine as did our Verizon hot spot. Now for the bad news. The camp is located about 200 yrds from a sewage treatment plant on the river. A local fisherman told us that while the fish are fun to catch he would not eat them due to the treatment plant and the high level of strychnine and other chemicals that were used during the gold mining days along the river. Besides that there are no beaches to use if you even thought of swimming or cooling off. People do use the river for white watering which we saw several people doing. The showers and bathrooms are very outdated and you have to use tokens for a shower. We used our RV shower. While the park is pretty with the river and pine trees, we would not be coming back to this park or river again. We are more into using the river then just staring at it. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As always, this is one of our favorites. The state has a new pricing policy in effect whereby the more popular campground sites cost more money and they also charge more for out-of-state residents, so it's becoming a bit pricey for us to stay here for only getting partial hookups. The fire danger was very high so no fires were permitted but we still enjoyed sitting out and watching the osprey fish in the river and teach their young to fly. This is a beautiful, peaceful place that we will always keep in our list of stopovers. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverside has two CGs - this review is for Bowl & Pitcher. It's a beautiful, quiet, peaceful CG with spacious sites. Price reflects out-of-state residency and reservation fee. You need to buy tokens for the shower: a quarter for 3 minutes and at least 30 seconds of that is waiting for the water to warm up. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

There are many campgrounds that make up Riverside State Park. The one I am reviewing is Bowl and Pitcher. Beautiful treed campground with two levels, one up by the entrance and one right on the river. There are no full hook-ups by the river except for the host site, but if there isn't a host you can camp in the site. Two pull-through sites and the rest back-in. Several are big rig friendly. The rest of the lower campsites are 30 and 50 amp and water (Winter before April 15 the water is off at the sites but flush toilets and fee showers are on) Vault toilets on either end in the reserve group camping area. Upper campground has several full hook-up sites but not a good fit for a big rig and only back in sites, flush toilets and pay shower in the middle, mostly sites for tents and a dump that is free for campers. There are lots of hiking and biking trails, a swinging suspension bridge, easy walking down by the river and canoe launches in several areas. There is an equestrian center and an off road vehicle area, a rental house at the entrance and a large group camping outdoor kitchen in the center of the bike/motorbike camp ground near the suspension bridge. Great kids and pet friendly campground with friendly hosts and clean restrooms. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

This is another great Washington State Park that is located right on the Spokane River. The sites were plenty wide for our RV and you back right up to the river. Best of all, it's very quiet here, but I imagine it fills up here during the summer months. There is an on-site host that takes great pride in maintaining his campground and the bathrooms are spotless! The only downside is that you have to navigate downtown Spokane traffic and some narrow streets to get here but it's doable. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Typical of Washington State Parks, this one is reasonably up to date with a new-ish shower/toilet facility. Price reflects add-on for online reservation. Site was level and trees provided shade (but might cause problems for those wanting to use satellite dishes). Overall, we had a pleasant overnight stay. While this park is on the edge of Spokane, it is located in a lovely area along the Spokane River. It's some distance from Interstate 90 along a narrow 2-lane road that passes a sewage treatment plant (but there were no odors or noise). There was no ranger on duty at the gate when we arrived, but we were able to follow the procedure to register. It was a simple process as we had printed our online receipt and had the necessary number to fill in on the payment envelope to show we'd already paid. Also, as typical of WA State Parks, tokens were required for the shower, adding a couple of dollars cost. There was a token vending machine by the entry to the park. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.
