This is a typical KOA that has been adequately maintained, staff at check in were pleasant and we had an escort to our site. Interior road was gravel as was our level pull through full hookup site. Some landscaping between sites and a picnic table and barbecue/fire ring. Big rig access was poor, first time ever we had to take two bites at the turn to get into our site, and it would have been impossible to get to our pull through site with our towed attached. There was a lovely distant Mountain View from our RV, however there was road noise pretty much 24/7. The bathrooms were a little dated, but fairly clean. The laundry was spacious with plenty of washers and dryers, although a little on the pricey side, $2:75 for a wash. Pet friendly, there is a small KampK9, but the pet walk area ran alongside the 101, which most pets would not like, due to the deafening noise! WiFi was excellent. We would probably stay here again, mainly because, it's the best of a really bad bunch in the area. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Awful WiFi. In this day and age there is no excuse for bad Wifi. Slow all of the time and would drop in and out. You need a separate code for each piece of equipment that you have. Campground itself was ok with reasonable sites. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights to visit the Olympic National Park. The park is close to US-101 along a secondary street. US-101 is a divided highway at the intersection to turn off with turn lanes so getting across could pose a challenge either in or out. The entrance road is a single lane with hazards (large rocks & parked vehicles) along the road to reach the office. The traffic pattern is complicated causing congestion, choke points and tight turns. Registration parking interferes with passing vehicles. The interior roads are a mixture of pavement and gravel. The interior roads and turns are lined with hazards (large rocks) making it difficult at best to challenging to maneuver larger RV's depending on driver's skill level. The site parking pads are gravel. The sites are a mixture of back-ins and P/T's. The newer P/T sites were built on sloping terrain. There was an effort to tier the sites level but saw a Class C motorhome with front wheels completely off the ground trying to get level. The sites may not be long enough to stay connected to a toad. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides but the rock retaining walls could pose a hazard. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were spread out along the sites. The sewer connection was at the rear and fitting was above ground making it difficult to establish a downhill flow depending on the discharge point. Distance and grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. Sites have an outside table & fire pits. In the newer P/T's sites the tree line didn't seem to interfere with satellite reception. A large portion of the park has an extensive tree canopy. Park information made no mention of cable or OTA broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. The park provided password protected WiFi was sporadic at best. Didn't try our Verizon WiFi hotspot or NET10 phone so don't know about reception. Seemed to be a popular place so reservations would be recommended. Very informative park brochure about the local area. Quite a few activities for children. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Great park, with something for everyone! Large pull-throughs for big rigs, open sky for those that want satellite reception, and sites in the trees for those who want shade! The park was clean and well kept, and the employees and owners were extremely friendly and helpful! We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

We spent 3 nights at this KOA near Port Angeles, WA, which is the gateway to the northern part of Olympic National Park. Part of the KOA with the smaller 30A sites was full so we reserved a larger 50A FHU pull-thru site. These are newer and terraced into a hill. They are well spaced, gravel, almost level. There is a large dog park but it is quite a walk from the sites. The staff is friendly and helpful and the laundry is clean and a good size. They give hay rides for the kids. The CG is about a 15 min. drive from Port A. and another 5 to the Olympic NP Visitor Center which is also on the road up to Hurricane Ridge. A bit further drive down the coast but still in the NP are Crescent Lake and some good hiking trails. You can also ferry over to Vancouver, BC. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice KOA people, and park. They escorted me into my site, and helped me get set into our space. We opted for full hook-ups and a pull-through. Those are gravel, with no trees, but nice as can be. Gravel sites, large rocks at entries, lava rock and concrete curbs between sites. Good connections, water, sewer and electrical. Excellent WiFi and T-Mobile cell connection. Nearby is Port Angeles and many national park areas. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

There are two distinct sections to this park. You enter through what appears to be an older section, heavily treed, grass and dirt sites and roads. Continuing down the road to the office and store you come to what appears to be the newer section, terraced, newly landscaped, gravel roads and sites, no mature trees around the RV sites. This is the section in which we stayed. The landscaping is very nice and designed to keep your neighbors utilities separate from your site, something we really appreciated. The sites are VERY wide and very comfortable. They provide a fire ring and a large concrete picnic table. Tent campers along the outside were not an issue. Satellite reception was good. Antenna reception was good. Verizon cellular was good. The park WiFi was good. Laundry room was adequate. Our only complaint was the highway noise. This park is right on Hwy 101 and it gets very noisy during rush hour. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

This has become a regular stop for us in recent years. Although it is getting a bit expensive, it is a good place to spend a few days to do Olympic National Park's northern features. We were able to get one of the pull through, FHU sites on the west side of the park that are satellite TV friendly. This is important since there is no cable TV. The Wi-Fi worked was fine for e-mail and web surfing. The east side of the park has lots of trees and is more for those with smaller RVs, tent campers, and those who don't want/need FHU sites. All these non-sewer sites make the bathroom facilities inadequate when the park is full. We were able to enjoy the pool (a rarity on the peninsula). I only saw recycling for aluminum cans. The staff I dealt with wre friendly and helpful. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nights in our motorhome in a deluxe site. It had a concrete pad, spacious patio, glider, picnic table and fire ring. Had a nice view of the mountains. There are sections of wooden fencing between these sites for added privacy. The office staff was super friendly and helpful. They had a nice laundry facility with commercial size washers and dryers at a very reasonable price. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Perfect location to visit Olympic National Park and Victoria BC. They were remodeling when we were there. They had just completed one of their patio sites, so we chose to park there. It was very nice. Our companion stayed in a cabin. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from this campground. Spacious sites, nice management, lots of areas to walk. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely go to Victoria, and plan to stay a couple of days. We rode over on the ferry without a car. There's lots of public transportation there. Give yourselves at least three or four days for Olympic National Park - an amazing place, especially the rain forests! Can't say enough good things about the area or this KOA.

We stayed at the KOA for 3 nights. There are new owners here and they are continually working to make this place even better than it is now. We stayed in the section that had been spruced up and it was very nice. We had a view of the Olympics each day and the sites are a nice distance apart. This koa is a little overpriced for no cable and slow WiFi. We really enjoyed our stay in the area and thought the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. We visited in October and the campground was empty (probably a bit too expensive for most folks). We would look elsewhere for a better deal next time but it provided us with a safe place to stay and we had a really nice time. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend for 3 nights. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Hosts drive through the grounds often to make sure everything is taken care of which was nice as well. The site we had was a bit on the small side (slide outs would have been an issue in our site) The family that owns it has been doing extensive remodel work on the entire facility and it shows. Even with being full on a busy weekend there were no issues with neighbors etc which was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future. Our only complaint was that the onsite dump station was a slight incline which for our specific trailer proved to be an issue as we were unable to fully dump our tanks. We ended up finding a very nice and easy to access dump station at a gas station in nearby Sequim that full-filled our needs. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Travel Trailer.
