Beautiful park like setting, landscape was well done 6 rental homes and only a few rv spots set between the highway and the railroad track. The cove was beautiful. The property was first class. The noise was defiantly there. Trains run at night but they do not blow whistle at least. Ring ear plugs or sleeping pills, no issue. They had issues with WiFi service vendor while there. You are right on river in a private gated park with trees and hard for good cell so check with them if you work camp that WiFi issues have been resolved. Easy commute to Oregon side attractions We camped at The Resort at Skamania Coves in a Fifth Wheel.

Two miles from toll bridge. Go by way of 84 in Oregon not the WA highway

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for about three weeks. After the first night we decided to find a different campground due to the road and railroad noise which is pretty bad. BUT, we decided to stay and are so glad we did. We adjusted to the noise quickly.

This campground is a jewel. It's small and terraced and directly above the Columbia River. I so enjoyed our daily dog walks down to the river and back up again. There are coves with picnic tables and benches. There are places to swim (at your own risk) in the river. Pets are welcomed throughout the campground and down by the river.

The grounds are kept up nicely. Hook-ups are well maintained and up to date. Good steady electric and good water pressure. The hosts are wonderful people and very helpful. The laundry is clean. We were in site one nearest the office and laundry and were able to use our satellite with no problems. Good steady electric and good water pressure.

The town of Stevenson is just over a mile away and had a surprisingly well stocked grocery store. Go just another couple of miles and you can cross "The Bridge of the Gods" into Oregon which is perfectly fine to cross with your RV whatever the size. It's a 40 minute drive to Portland via I 84.

The only reason I didn't give this park a 10 is the noise but if you want to be near the river with gorgeous views and don't mind the noise this is the place for you. We camped at The Resort at Skamania Coves in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The campground pictures were misleading. Hookups had to be done by running the line to the front of the motorhome or if we had backed in to the site if could be done as usually, but you would have missed the view of Columbia River.

The train tracks are approximately 50 yards from the camp sites. The trains run on a regular basis day and night. Very noisy and disturbing.

The host people are friendly and helpful. We camped at The Resort at Skamania Coves in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

You are on the banks of the Columbia River, but this sliver of land is wedged between the main highway and the train tracks. Dozens of trains day and night come through: crossing is nearby so lots of whistle blowing. No antenna or satellite reception. Convenient location to Stevenson: had a great brunch at the Skamania Lodge a short distance away. Great view from the Lodge. There are lots of campgrounds around if you know the names of the little towns around. Oregon is across the river and a nice boat ride is available from Cascade of the Locks: a lovely little town across the river. We camped at The Resort at Skamania Coves in a Motorhome.
