Very nice shady park in Home Valley. If you are on a site close to the office, the Wi-Fi signal is good and the speed is excellent. However, no TV, no cable, no laundry. Laundromat in Stevenson. And also NO TRAIN NOISE! It is hard to find a RV park where you can have a quiet night's rest in the Portland area and the Columbia Gorge. Well ... here it is. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful and quiet little park situated on the Washington side of the Hood River. Lots of green trees and ferns growing all around our site. Best to have 4 wheel drive if pulling a trailer as the roads in the park are gravel and somewhat steep. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Travel Trailer.

The park is located on a hill 3 miles north of the Columbia River in Home Valley which is a few miles east of Stevenson. We were in a tree-lined full hook-up site. We felt like we were staying in a forested state park. The owners are very welcoming and familiar with the area. We will definitely stay here again in the future. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to stop at the Mt. Adams Chamber info booth just west of the Hood River Bridge. The staff directed us to some beautiful sights. We spent day 1 along the Klickitat River. We ended up on Hwy 97 & headed north for 10 miles and went to St. John's Greek Bakery at the Greek Orthodox Monastery. Day 2 we drove to Mt. Adams all the way to Takhlakh Lake for amazing up-close views of Mt. Adams. Enroute we stopped at the small cafe in Trout Lake for a delicious burger and huckleberry shake!

Nice park off the beaten path up in the hills. Very shaded so no satellite or over the air TV. To pull a big rig to the top of the campground 4 wheel drive is needed. Very nice camp host who brought us up a taste of smoked salmon. Washing of rigs was allowed. No washers or dryers. Good ATT service. We stayed here to visit Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helen and the Columbia River Gorge. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful, secluded, quiet spot in the forest. Just 3 miles up the mountain from the Columbia River Gorge sits this little paradise of nature. Great owners and met lovely people. No laundry or food available but not far from Hood River or Stevenson. Will go back again and again! We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I don't tow but there was room for a vehicle if I did. Everything you'd need within 20/30 minutes away in Hood River or Stevenson. Mt. St. Helens close by and lots of river activities in summer months.

Stayed here for 6 days while exploring the area. This was an excellent park for our stay. all the spaces are back in spaces but they are wide and deep enough for rig and tow vehicle. The internet was excellent. There was a fire ban but the each site had a fire pit that could have been used. The whole area was very quite and nice place to stay. A very relaxing time. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Our site backed up to the open forest - sites were staggered, so it felt very private. Bathrooms were outhouses (not my favorite, but were very clean and serviced often). Staff escorted us to site and helped us back in - very nice! Staff provided helpful information on sites to see in the area. Had plastic picnic tables, so you could not set up your BBQ on them. If driving in a Big Rig - check with the park on which route to take. Coming west there are 4 tunnels - the shortest of which is 11'2'' at the shoulder. We took 84 from Portland and crossed at the Hood River bridge per the owners suggestion. You may get a weight restriction warning on your GPS - but the restrictions were changed and are not a problem. We are 45 feet/13.6"tall with a tow. Park is a reflection of the young owners and their family and camp hosts - which is to say it is very friendly, helpful and we felt like family immediately. It is up a 3 mile road (interesting in a big rig) but only a few minutes from the town of Stevenson. Beautiful and peaceful grounds. Satellite is site dependent - all big rig sites are back in which was not a problem. They have a very comprehensive store on site - almost like a mini mart. Facility is very well kept and we would definitely stay here again. Only nit is they don't have a laundry facility - which means a trip to town. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Dog Daycare available in Hood River - about a 40 minute drive toward Hood Mountain. Great facility. There are a couple of dog friendly restaurants in Stevenson. There is almost too much to tour/hike in a couple of days. Area is beautiful.

Just got back and had a blast. Great RV Park. Owners make you feel like family. No cooking on picnic table (not made of wood) , so we set our portable bbq up on the fire ring, worked great. If you are over 28 feet, I would recommend sites 2-5, and 14-18. Very good wi-fi, cannot say enough about this park. can't wait to return. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place for those who like privacy between sites. Better spacing than some state parks we've stayed in. Good tent sites too. Management very helpful and on site. Only drawback - steep hills accessing some sites would be tricky with a very long and heavy trailer. Great location for exploring the Columbia River Gorge and nearby national forests. Drive a little over 2 miles off the highway and you will enter a lush park with campsites enclosed by trees and away from the traffic and train noise. There are spaces for RV's, Trailers, and Tent Campers; dirt camping to full hook-ups. Don't miss this park. The Owners, who are on site almost every day, take customer service to the limit. They will help you place your trailer, or just provide guidance if you need it. We had to change reservations; no problems, no hassle, no extra charges. One of the owners spent time with us suggesting books about the area and also suggested a few activities for our stay. We were low on a few items and located them in the camp store, very low mark-ups which is really unusual. The sites are all almost perfectly flat; due to the rain there can be some minor leveling but we backed in and didn't need any blocks. The campground is clean. The showers, toilets, and the outhouses spaced around the park for "tent campers" were all spotless when we used them. They have a large area for dogs, a play and picnic area for families, and if you want a pleasant walk, just walk the park. Though I hate the idea of "Internet" on vacation, I needed it and the speed was more than acceptable. It is quiet here, other than other campers all one can hear is the wind through the trees. At almost every site you are next to the forest (on one side of our site there was just an open forested area. There is a picnic table and fire pit in most sites. If you are looking for a special place for RV camping this is the one in the Gorge, you can travel to any activity from here. There was enough space for both our 23 ft trailer and tow vehicle. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Two close areas to shop. Small store to the left on 14 or go into Stevenson. At the camp store purchase the book Curious Gorge; a perfect book regarding what to do in the Gorge.

Only an overnight, but the place is great. Full hookup, level back in, everything very clean and maintained well! Great dog play area up the hill. The staff work really, really hard. We could have taken a bigger site but for just an overnight we took one close to the bathroom and store. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There isn't much within walking distance, but it's sheltered. White caps on the Columbia river, just a little breeze up in the trees. Bit of an uphill drive on a narrow secondary road, but only three miles, well worth the drive. Cascade Locks and a busy little town, Skamania, to the west; The Dalles to the east.

This is a very small, nice campground 3 miles up the hill from the Columbia River. It is rustic and surrounded by woods with many shaded spots. It is owned and managed by a young couple who go out of their way to make sure that all is OK. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Loved this little park. The area is gorgeous and the park grounds are well maintained with beautiful forest and shrubbery. I can't say enough about how nice the young couple are that run it. It is a true family operation with their parents and kids helping out. The check in was easy and the owners were always there to lend a hand if needed. I hope we get back there again. We came to this park looking for a camping atmosphere with 30amp and H2O connections. Immediately upon arrival, I knew I found a little piece of heaven. The staff made my family and I feel like honored guests, although we arrived unannounced/no reservation. We were given a map of available sites to chose from with no pressure whatsoever. Beautiful, well maintained back-in sites with forested privacy throughout. A most welcome change after abandoning a crowded, truck stop-like park in Cascade Locks. We will return to this park again for sure. We camped at Timberlake Campground & RV in a Motorhome.
