The campground is set up for self-pay at the office, but if using a credit card, there is a host camper next to the office who can accommodate that. Access to the sites is across a 10' wide bridge. It looks intimidating but your rig will cross with no problems. We were assigned a long pull through. Water and power worked well. There are ballfields adjacent to the campground so some evenings may have activity until around 10 PM. This is located about a mile south of the border crossing. This is a no frills basic rv park which was fine for an overnight stay, but in my opinion is overpriced. We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We had a very good experience at this RV Park and loved staying here! This park is extremely convenient to the Canadian border and makes a great base to see all of the sights in Washington too. We were warmly welcomed and immediately invited to a BBQ later that day. We had a very nice pull through site - level and on gravel. There was one issue that we addressed with the manager and it was handled promptly and pleasantly by maintenance. I even got a phone call the next day to make sure all was well. This is a real gem of a park and we will certainly be back! Thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

I just moved to Sumas RV Park in a larger travel trailer, intending to stay long term.

The park is under new management now and they are friendly and accommodating. The new managers have made many upgrades to the park grounds and to the quality of the long term residents.

Older reviews of this park should be regarded with these comments in mind. This place is definitely on the upswing, and the price is very competitive. Check it out...! We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do in Sumas, but Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, and the Mount Baker ski area are very close.

Located in a large farming valley just west of Mt Baker. Took a lovely afternoon car ride up to the north side of Mt Baker: ends at 5000' with rest of the 10000' Mt and surrounding peaks to view.

Very helpful manager with lots of info. Wifi only near office. Nicest spot was patio table just outside the office in the shade of the firs. Many surrounding fields of corn; occasional whiff of dairy farm; trains run only in day time.

Used the RV park as my hub to take car north over ferry to Vancouver island to explore, then back a day before start of trip to Jasper. We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Park has very few sites available for travelers. Most sites taken up by "permanent campers." Appears that only the visiting campers abide by the pet rules, keeping their dogs on a leash, and cleaning up after them. We had to clean our site of dog waste from big dogs before we could allow our dog out of the RV! No one was available at the office to collect or answer questions. Had to fill out our own pay form (no receipt) and use a drop box. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The best thing about this park was it's relation to the Canada border. We stayed here to make it convenient to go back and forth to Canada, and it worked for that. There is also a nice city sports park that connects to it that is well maintained and a good place to walk your pets. It's a good thing, too, because many of the dogs that belong to the many permanent residents are pits or pit mixes and not too friendly. The sites are gravel and grass, and you are mixed in with the permanent residents. I have never seen so much duct tape and blue tarps in one campground. We stayed for two days, and twice some of the permanent residents got into fist fights/ yelling/ cursing matches. It never felt safe or secure, and we never did see any management. One of the ram shackle trailers had a manager sign on it, but no one ever came around. You register with an envelope and drop it in a slot. And to top it off, the park is also surrounded by large lots of dairy cows. So the aroma of cow manure is a constant companion. I will not stay here again. We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Self check-in with form/envelope. Went to back area where the lots were large pull throughs. Mountains and cornfields surround the park and the train horn blows by day. Nighttime was very quiet. Manager came by on our arrival and was friendly and accommodating. When asked when check-out time was he said "no hurry, anytime" & other parks have been at our door at 11am reminding us even when they wasn't many in their park. We camped at Sumas RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy access from Rt 9 and close to the border crossing. We left our rig here to go across the border on day trips. Nice long wide 50 amp sites. It took 2 days to check in. There was never anyone in the office. It was self serve. Small laundry room but no other amenities. The rigs at the front of the park seems to be long term. The interior of the park was large and wide open spaces. We could use our Dish, aircard and Verizon without any interference. We would stay here again. Unfortunately this park is losing its appeal. There are several full timers that do not take care of their units which ruin the ambience. Recently the wonderful caretaker manager passed away. The new managers are unable to keep up the park. They are also very rude and trying to reserve is almost impossible. Its a real shame because this park was a gem.
