Campground is a long 12 miles from the interstate down narrow and winding roads. Beautiful country, but not what you may want to travel after a long day of driving. Campground is very small with mostly permanent sites is more geared towards river rafting than transient guests. Steep entrance coming into the campground but very well marked. We stayed overnight during the state fair and it was a quick 10 minute drive to explore the fair area. They were in the process of building a small deck on our our campsite, but while we were there it was just a frame. The only pull through site in the campground is about 15 feet below the main highway on a sharp turn. You can hear traffic all night long. We ended up leaving around 4:30am because we were up due to road noise and were tired of laying there. My husband was convinced that one of the cars coming around the bend was going to land on us. Very nice people and quiet other than road noise. We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice little park in the mountains. When you first pull in it looks a bit like a trailer park, but the obvious long term tenants are somewhat separate from transients. Sites seem reasonably level. Water service is shared by 2 sites with a provided Y connector, but you may need an extra hose to connect. Wifi was decent, cable had sketchy reception. Entry to park is down a steep hill, but we didn't bottom out. We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is right on the Greenbrier River so water sports are easy to find. Park owners run a river raft service and canoes etc. are also available. If you are a railroad enthusiast you'll like this place because busy tracks are about 100 feet from the sites and trains run all night. Park is about 9 miles From the Greenbrier Resort, but I don't know if Greenbrier's activities like golf, fine dining, equestrian activities etc. are available to non hotel guests.

We needed a spot to get away for a few days. Owners and staff were very pleasant and provided us with a wonderful spot to stay. Owner recommended 12 south to 63 to arrive and that was a great recommendation. You can tell that owners are very hands on by the appearance of the facility. We will definitely return! We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you eat at the Stardust restaurant in downtown Lewisburg. Lewisburg a short drive away with a very nice downtown area with shops and restaurants. WV fair began while there but we did not attend.

Whitewater rafters - this is a great park for you! If you canoe or just like to play or fish in the river - this is a great park for you too! Almost all of the sites in this park have a river front/rear view and the river is beautiful and the flow/rapids are music to your ears. Sites are large gravel and many have a generous, fairly new deck that faces the river. All hook-ups (30/50 amp, water, and sewer) are well maintained and in good working order. Common areas in this park offer a playing field, games, playground, and group shelters. If you want to get off the grid, this park is for you as there is almost no connectivity for cell phones, internet, or satellite. The park does offer free cable, but the reception was very poor. All that is great as far as we are concerned. The only problem in this park is tucked between auto traffic (about 100 yards on one side) and a well used railroad (about 100 yards on the other side). Therefore, noise was a bit of an issue for us. For that reason alone, if we find our way back to this area, we would look for another park. We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place right alongside the river for boaters & floaters. Stayed only one night though because the highway noise & trains kept us awake most of the night. We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Motorhome.

Can't wait to come back this summer. The owners are the most helpful people I have ever met at a campground. The bathrooms are immaculate, and sites are beautiful. Can't beat waking up every morning to the sound of the river. One thing all of us will mention is we missed the Ol' girl in the office (easy on the eyes) and very friendly. We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Tent.

A bit far off I-64 for an overnight, 14 miles of back roads. Our site was dirt, thankfully it did not rain. Water quality was fair, pressure was fine. Restrooms were outdated and very dirty. Road noise moderate, train noise loud all night. At least there was no crossing nearby so you are spared the horn. Fees are collected in cash only. Can't see any reason to return to this place again. We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Motorhome.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds you will ever find. The people are friendly and helpful. Large garbage cans are provided, and are emptied daily. Beautiful water access in the form of a shallow, slow-running river. They have all kinds of rafts, canoes, etc., available for rent. There is a very active railroad track across the river, but this didn't bother us any. Matter of fact, watching them only made the place more quaint. The only drawback that we could find is that there is only one washer and dryer. No sewers on site, but there is a dumpstation and provide a pump-out service that is free for extended stays and a charge for shorter stays. We would DEFINITELY camp here again if in the area! We camped at Greenbrier River Campground in a Travel Trailer.
