This is an update on this CG on this date. I contacted them and they do not take overnight campers. It is all long term and seasonal. It maybe a great site but you're not going to be able to get in. We camped at Shavers Fork Campground in a Motorhome.

We traveled with our children 13, 10, and 3. They had a wonderful time. The older 2 tubed down the river and jumped off rocks into the creek and the younger one spent time with Yogi Bear. There were many activities planned and though not all were well run the children enjoyed them. Our site was large and grassy though kind of swampy from the recent rains- avoid row B if possible. The pools and public areas were clean and well kept, but the restrooms needed more attention. We will return. We feel we got good value for our money and the staff was excellent. We camped at Shavers Fork Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was a nice park. Restrooms were clean and nice children's activities. Absolutely beautiful area! As a lot of the places we have been to the game room was outdated but they had nice playground equipment and the pools were nice. They also had rive tubing that looked very fun but we hit a cold spell while we were camping so we did not get to try it. Overall this was a nice place and I would definitely go back! We camped at Shavers Fork Campground in a Tent Trailer.

A nice park, relatively new. Only a dozen or so pull through sites, which are level. A lot of the back-in sites (especially the river sites) slope drastically to the rear, and we’d never be able to level our motorhome if we used one, although there are level back-in sites available. The 50A electric was as high as 132 volts (not a typo) late at night. Water pressure varied from good to very low randomly, day and night, which made taking a shower interesting, but the water seems to be of good quality. I measured the pressure while we were unhooking, and it was only 28 psi. There are a lot of seasonal units throughout the park, but all were newer units that were well taken care of. We had no concerns for our safety while we were here. The campground’s convenient for the New Tygart Flyer train ride in Elkins. The track was less than 20 feet from our pullthrough site, which allowed us get some pictures of the train literally from the door of our rig. (And of our rig from the train!) Don’t be concerned about train noise, though. It runs on Saturday and Sunday only (once in each direction per day), and the rest of the week the only thing we saw was a single hi-rail maintenance truck on the track one day. By the way, when you make reservations for the train, you can actually request that the train stop at the campground for boarding! We chose not to do that though, and drove the 9 miles to the newly restored station in Elkins, because one highlight of the ride is a 1600 foot tunnel that would be missed if you board at the campground. It’s about a 50 mile ride in each direction to the Cass Scenic Railroad, which is without a doubt the most unusual State Park I’ve ever been to. If you’re interested in trains, it’s well worth the trip to see rare Shay locomotives in their natural habitat - pushing trains up mountains via switchbacks with up to 9 percent grades. There are three different train rides that can be taken, depending on the day you visit. We camped at Shavers Fork Campground in a Motorhome.

This is the former Revelle's Riverside Resort. It is next to Revelle's Family Campground, and campers may use the facilities and activities at both campgrounds. The web site identifies the location as Elkins, which is a full-service town about 7 miles west. Below is a letter that I sent to the campground after a recent stay. Dear Managers and Staff of Yogi's, Bowden, WV, I'm writing to thank you for a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I know that sometimes people are quick to criticize, but then don't bother to mention when folks go the extra measure, which you did. Besides being in one of the most beautiful settings of any campground I have seen, Yogi's is meticulously maintained with obvious pride. Everything was clean. The grass was green, full and trimmed. All the hookups worked perfectly with clean water and good pressure. (Campsite cable TV that actually works? Didn't you get the memo?) But best of all were you wonderful folks who bent over backwards to make sure that all the guests were happy. It would have been easy to take the attitude that you were sold out and campers were lucky just to get a spot (True), but instead you treated us like valued guests. It was much appreciated. We also liked that so many activities were included, and what was charged for was reasonably priced. Even though Bowden is a five hour drive from home over some very challenging roads, my family has decided to make your campground our new Memorial Day tradition. We look forward to seeing you again soon. We camped at Shavers Fork Campground in a Travel Trailer.
