Only Loop C has (13) electric hook-ups, there is no water so you must fill up before you enter. Campsites are paved but most are sloped. Site 36 seemed level. There is 1 shower in each- you have to hold the button down for water, very inconvenient, and it takes a long time for hot water. There is a cold draft that comes in from the vents. Campground hosts were very friendly. You can not see Seneca Rocks from Loop C but you can from the walk-in loop. There are also some pit toilets in the loops, but regular flush in the main bathhouses. The regular rate is $30 for a single site with electric. - On the Road again 11

Great campground for hiking and nature trails. The sites were a little small for our 34ft fifth wheel but other than that, it was very private and peaceful. No water hook ups but a water outlet is available to fill the tanks. Dump station available. This is deep in the mountains and there is no cell phone service. We would come back here again. - Larry 1126

We really enjoyed staying at this out of the way campground, but had a few minor issues. First, it was a pain to have to find someone there to check us in/find out the rules on checking in, since we had never camped there before and did not have a reservation. You go to where the directions say to go and then there's a sign that says there is nobody there, go to another loop and find somebody. After a long day of mountain driving it was frustrating. We loved our site, however. Our site, 36, was able to get Directv. No Verizon signal. The site was level. The showers were a bit grimy and had lukewarm water, and the handle had to be pushed constantly for water flow. There is water at various places in the park to fill your tank but the dump station is locked and $7 to use so we didn't use it at this campground. - Pinkflamingo71

This is a primitive campground. There are bathrooms but no shower. The campground is located right on the river and the fishing is great! This is a wonderful spot for viewing wildlife: deer, beaver, raccoon, and muskrat. I even saw a bear once while hiking. If you are looking for a nice spot to take the family, relax, and view wildlife this is the spot for you. Phone access is available at the store 3 miles or so away. - lovemypopup

We arrived on Sunday and there was a person to help check us in, they close the office during weekdays. It had rained alot so many of the sites were not accessible with a big rig. The grounds were kept nice and clean. It was a very quiet area, I would come back. - Diablo

Only about 1/3 full, half that during the week. Overall nice grounds, sites pretty level. Lots of puddles during heavy rain. Nice small river adjacent to campground, good for swimming or just cooling off. Nice nature trails alongside. Did not use pool but looked nice. Bathrooms very clean. Showers ok - cobwebs, etc in corners, but floors kept clean. Some playground equipment and open spaces for kids. Was quiet, but also was not very full. "B" loop had almost no trees, other locations were partially shaded. At the tip of "D" loop could hear a little noise from nearby roads outside campground, but minimal - could not hear inside camper. - DawgDen

Its quite a scenic drive through VA farm country to get here but not all that far off of the interstate. Not heavily wooded but there are sights with shade trees. A very well kept clean and quiet park. Pool was nice and the chimneys are pretty cool to photograph. We got in here at mid day to cool off and take a break for the night as it was in the 90s. Electric hookup ran the AC just fine. All in all it makes for a great stopover or to spend a few days exploring the area. We would stay here again . - GDM
