This campground is ridiculously packed. Sites on top of sites. Forget feeling like you are in the great outdoors. Otherwise, staff was friendly. Amenities were very nice but bathrooms and showers were gross. Coaxial Cable running across the road that is unsafe. Only benefit of staying here is that it is in walking distance to Harper's Ferry. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed on site 10 pull thru with a 40' 5th wheel. The site had a concrete patio with furniture, 50 amp service and plenty of room. Close walk to the store, pool, game room and pancake breakfast. Park is keep clean and staff is super friendly. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Our fancy RV surge protector again indicated low voltage during hot day full campground, but not bad enough to shut off electricity, but red light blinking, and 3rd AC in RV not full power. This was an issue several years ago. Electric system for campground is probably not strong enough to power all the big rigs of today at the same time at full power. Choose your sites carefully, many big rig sites are unlevel. Enter and exit sites carefully since there are many obstacles like curbs and trees in this campground. Remember you get 3rd night free if you call, but the resort and dog fees are not free for third night. T-Mobile service is 1 bar. Cannot download apps. Campground WiFi unusable. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Motorhome.

If you are longer than 35', I'd suggest staying in the FHU PT's on the hill (7-17, 36-55). You will easily fit in the site, but the roads are narrow and getting around the curves and into the site could be interesting if the park is full and other campers are squeezing their big trucks into their sites along with the camper. The one shower and bathroom I looked in seemed clean, but the washers and dryers could have used a good scrubbing. There are a lot of them, but the laundry room is also open to hikers, so they probably get a lot of use. Personally, I do not like the additional resort fee. If you are going to charge it to everyone regardless, why not just include it in the daily rate? It creates bad will among the campers that are just there to visit Harpers Ferry, not use the pool and mini golf (which weren't even open yet when we were there). I agree with others that the rate seems rather high for the area and the amenities. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Motorhome.

As far as campgrounds go, you can't ask for much more. Its clean, pretty, has full easy accessible hookups, and the store has anything you might need, including beer! Not much partying going on in Harper's Ferry. Its an old historic town. If your into hiking and nice views and exploring some of the history, you will like it. We went in January and by 8pm Harper's Ferry was a ghost town. The sewer hookup is about 6 inches higher than the parking spot. Bring one of those funky things that keeps your sewer hose off the ground otherwise the junk will sit in the hose. This happened to me and when i unhooked it i spilled nasty blue holding tank water all over the place. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We only stayed at this park for one night one a gravel pull through site. The full service site was long enough to stay hooked up but was very uneven, and as with most of the sites in this park, they are very tight. The roads are narrow and can be difficult to navigate with a larger unit. The staff at this park were very pleasant to deal with and the gift shop and coffee shop are very nice. The real down side of this park is the price point which I believe is too high for the condition of the sites and the roads. But with that said the park was at full capacity so it would appear to be a favourite location for people in the area. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A large KOA campground next to Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. There are lots of amenities: large pool, mini-golf, camp store, cable TV, large laundry, fenced dog area, etc. Sites vary, from small gravel sites in the trees, to large pull-throughs. We have a large rig, so chose a premium site; $58 reflects "buy 2 nights, get 1 free" price. Even so, the site was difficult to pull into, with narrow roads and tight turns. There were deep tire tracks in the nicely landscaped area where others also had difficulty making the turns. This is a nice park in a convenient location, if you don't mind maneuvering your rig around the tight turns. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Drive to Harpers Ferry Visitor's Center (very short drive from campground), and ride the free shuttle into town. There is almost no parking in Harper's Ferry Lower Town, and the free shuttle runs every 15 minutes.

Cable TV reception is poor, very snowy, only 14 channels. Nightly fee is very high compared to other parks. Not a good value. WI-fi signal comes and goes, not reliable and weak. Interior roads are gravel and washed out from rain erosion, lots of ruts. Laundry room is spacious but double the price of other parks. Camp store is well stocked with lots of RV supplies and a movie theater. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, but pricey KOA. There are a bunch of big rig sites up front and if you can get one of those you will be fine in a big rig. Otherwise, the sites are more wooded and narrow and suitable for smaller trailers. We found the wifi useless and the pancake lady surly. There is a well-provisioned store, nice pool, minigolf, play areas, and they offer Civil War tours on the grounds and for nearby Murphy's farm. They are also the best base for exploring Harpers Ferry. They are too expensive and charge a $10 resort fee to add insult to injury. We found our gravel site large enough and the grounds comfortable, but can't justify the price gouging. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice campground. But since they were full in their area for large RV they stuck us over in an area that was not suitable for 37 foot motorhomes. The pathways were extremely narrow and it was incredibly difficult to get into our site due to the numerous trees. Furthermore, our site was so unlevel that despite using multiple blocks we could not level and therefore could not open our slides. They were full and we couldn't get another site. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very large KOA adjacent to the Harper's Ferry National Historical Park. The RV park offers a mix of open and wooded sites, fairly close together but with enough room for the tow vehicle. Facilities are what you would expect at a KOA Resort. Interior roads are narrow but manageable. Cable TV picture quality was poor and off air tv provided only a few stations at our site. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

I made the mistake of not reading RV Park Reviews before going to this KOA. Heed the warnings. We expected this to be a typical tourist area KOA: expensive and close sites. We picked it because it was mid-point from family and business needs. Will never stay again. There is a very nice pool and a few other things but, while the wooded areas look great for small TTs and tents, they put larger 5th wheels and motorhomes in a horrible gravelly, weedy, unlevel, tight area. We are a 45' motorcoach with a toad that had no business being accepted into this park. The roads throughout the park are not maintained with large gullies to high side trailers on. The sites have deep ruts at the grassy/mud ends from vehicles and trailers trying to enter and exit too tight sites. It's a mess. As we worked our way to our assigned spot we had to maneuver past a brick wall (the rest of the fence is wood so this is a telling sign that the area has been hit many times) with only about a 2" clearance then worry about hitting a pu truck parked on the other side. The site was unlevel and extremely tight. Went to the office and was told we could move to site 44 which was shorter, tighter and still unlevel. They do have about 5 really nice sites of which one was perfect for our size. While it was not occupied and would not be for several days they would not work with us to accommodate our needs. We took the site for use for 4 nights. The next day the manager lacking in conflict resolution skills, confronted me with the threat of eviction followed with the threat of calling the police to my husband. We called the company that owns this KOA location, Recreation Adventure Company, and never received a return call from the Director of Operations or anyone else after a promise that someone would definitely return the call. This cg, in its current configuration, can NOT manage big rigs. Heed the warnings posted. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed in their brand new pull through sites with concrete patio and hand laid stone fire pits and Adirondack furniture. The site was beautiful. But the site layout is too tight to pull through. Much easier to back in. Entry and exit from sites must be carefully planned because of narrow interior roads, tight turns, steep terrain, pot holes, untrimmed trees, and interior road layout. WiFi was super duper Uber slow. T-Mobile service was 1 bar. Rate above reflects fact that 3rd night is free. However dog charges and per person resort fees are still charged for 3rd night.
