We stayed here for two nights while passing through to Kentucky. It is a state park and that is what you get. We did not have a dump but for the cost per night, that was fine and it was only for two nights. The park was quite empty and quiet. - aka4170

What a change! I posted the beautiful rating on this park two years ago. It is still a beautiful park, but! We just left there after seven days. It is now a work camp. All of the sewer camp sites are taken by workers' trailers. They leave at 0630, honking to pickup buddies. Most units sit idle on weekends. There are equipment trailers at the sites. The park does not care about tourists or real campers. The shower/rest rooms are terrible. Showers have one control for water flow. The rooms are always wet and not cleaned. Electric service was not always reliable. The tank dump had no working water to wash out the hose. This place really went down hill. - Phrg34

Beautiful park...pay pool..miniature golf..lots of play ground equipment..group shelters. Unfortunately terrible showers/bath, very dirty and left that way. Trash picked up. Countless deer, bobcat and other wild life. Speed limit enforced all the time. Lots of trails; fishing and nature activities. The 8 is only for the baths. - Phrg34

Beautiful wooded area in the southern part of WV. Lots, while without water, are deeply shaded in the wooded area. Restrooms/showers can be a hike if you don't get close and water from the shower heads in the women's restroom ran constantly all the time we were here keeping the bathroom floor constantly very wet. VERY few lots would take the big rigs and all wooded lots are a challenge to back into (uphill and turning). Swim area not within walking distance of the camping area, necessitating quite a drive. - cmclark

We were really disappointed with this WV state park. Most of the electric sites that we could fit in (35'), were quite unlevel and even with blocks and jacks, couldn't level it out. There was a dog at one of the campsites that barked for 4 hours, and nothing was done. There are some nice hiking trails, and a fun golf course. The pool is not close by and they charge $3 a person even if you are staying in the park. We will not go back. - Patti A

Though quite remote, this is a very nice, quiet park that's good for families. The campground is several miles away from the main park facilities (lodge, pool, golf course). There's a small playground, and hiking trails are in the campground area itself. Half the sites have electric (30 amp), and there are three pull-through sites. About half the sites are under trees and half in the open. None of the sites have water or sewer, so be prepared to fill up at the campground entrance before going to your site. There's a small playground, and hiking trails are in the campground area itself. Firewood is available at the small campground office/store. We found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. If you want a peaceful vacation, this is it! - ficodek
