Lets start out with the sites. They are large for the most part. Though with that none of the sites we looked at had gravel pads and were all grass. The site we stayed on at one point must have had a gravel pad but has been overgrown at this point. Also, a lot of the sites are seasonal so you should expect that. Still this is one of the quietest places I have stayed at in all of my stays.

They do promote a green campground so don't expect a lot of things you might see at other campgrounds. They have a catch an release fishing pond but no swimming area. They have converted an old barn into a game room. The games were limited and some are free and others you have to pay for. As part of the green campground they also do not offer anything in the bathroom to dry your hands, no air dryer or paper towels. Not sure if this is part of the green idea but the fire pit was just some loose rocks in a circle with a mud ring around it. It worked, but you couldn't get very close to roast the mallows without stepping into mud.

It is also very close to Devils Lake which does fill up and this would be a close alternative. They offer wifi but only near the campstore. The staff was friendly and the store was stocked with the things we wanted which was a couple sodas. We didn't have any issues with the power, water, or sewer. Though if you don't get a sewer site, the dump station is in a grassy area almost hidden. Overall it was just what we wanted for the weekend and that was some quiet family time and still got to enjoy a nice hike at Devils Lake. We camped at Wheeler's Campground in a Travel Trailer.

No reservation, but was given a very lovely shaded site (back in). Staff was ultra friendly and accommodating. Didn't use any facilities. Plenty of room to walk the dog. Overall very well kept. Used just for an overnighter. Has a fishing pond that was actually being used by some guests, and a game room and a nice camp store. About 30 minutes from House on the Rock, and Taliesin. Would stay here again. We camped at Wheeler's Campground in a Motorhome.
