When we looked up the campground for our stay they made a point of saying how level the sites were and how friendly the service was. When we got there, however, we found that they weren't very friendly. We had read nothing stating this campground doesn't take credit cards, we were lucky we had cash on hand. The man who took care of us was rude, short and rather grumpy, as if we were encroaching on his time. He was rude when he stated we could not go outside our site into the woods at all, and that the dogs must be on a very short leash at all times. We can understand the rules, but the method of imparting them on us was rather short.

As we drove to the site we found massive man-made speed bumps, these weren't little and were tough to drive over on a slant. The site wasn't level in the least, we were listed to one side no matter how many times we attempted to find a better leveled area. A little uneven is to be expected, nature doesn't always comply after all, but this left us with a very long step down out of the side door and if you opened a cupboard the door would swing on it's own.

The bathrooms were not as advertised - very old-school girl scout camp style, not a problem but they were advertised as clean and kept up. These were little more than open air stalls. The sinks were in the next room over, you had to step outside and go around to get to them. Again, not a problem; they were just not as advertised. The shower was dirty, dark and $1.50 per five minutes, and not very hot.

The dump station was so unkempt that you needed a wrench and a hammer to get it so you could hook up!

Overall it was a poor experience with poor service. Be prepared for hilly interior roads, dirt roads and washed out sections. Uneven, bumpy, and rough. We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Motorhome.

Ranks down there with the worst campgrounds we've been in. When we called, we were told they were booked full for the nights we wanted but if we could postpone and come in on Sunday, they would take good care of us. Couldn't make a reservation because they don't take credit cards; wouldn't even write our name down in the book for a site. When we arrived on Sunday, the owner was grumpy and acted like it was an imposition to deal with us at all. Finally, a site materials, a 30-amp, back-in, too short for a 40 ft. rig. First job was to trim the trees so the branches wouldn't scrape the roof and back of the motorhome. The interior roads have deep rutted trenches supposedly for water drainage. Rest assured, driving over them even at a crawl will rearrange everything in your cabinets...an underground pipe would do the job. The sites weren't very level but we managed. The power went off twice Sunday night; too many rigs on the same line and we had to run our generator. On the bright side, the water pressure was good and it was very quiet at night. Definitely would NOT stay here again. We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Motorhome.

If you are looking for a park were all you can do is sit in your lawn chair with a book in one hand and fly swatter in the other, this is for you. If you hate water or even views of the water, this is for you . I found the fact of being nickle and dime for such basics as a shower very irritating. This was the most expensive of all the campgrounds and then having to pay extra was too much (1.50). We had reserved for 3 nights but after only 2 we had had it and left. One more thing I personally found somewhat distasteful were the "cutesy" by underlying sarcastic signs put up around the park, i.e. "do you run all stop signs, or just this one", there were others. This was just such a put off. I would never stay here again We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here but I am so glad that we have a camper with a restroom. The restrooms are the strangest that I have ever seen. There is no outside door on the restrooms. The showers and the sinks are in a separate room, odd? The showers were pay showers, which is OK but I would like to be able to control the temperature and maybe turn the water off if I finish my shower before the time is up. All in all I really didn't care for the bathrooms or showers. I will not return to this campground. We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Motorhome.

It is rare that we give a campground a poor grade, this is an exception. It is an older campground that is setup for the camper of 30 years ago. My number one complaint was that we stopped here because they had Wi-Fi and questioned them before staying. They basically lied about it. The service was very poor and no reception was at the site. I have a Radio Wave Omni directional antenna and was able to hook on marginally. I suspect they have a home system with a small router on their own TV. He wanted us this time and didn’t care about what we thought. After all we were just passing through. Now we have RP Park Reviews. The entrance has a hairpin turn that is extremely steep. It jostled loose my bedroom light fixture it was so steep and the coach was jostling around so much. Class A’s (33 foot) will have a hard time. The sites are very short and I broke the plastic out of one of my upper running lights on a tree as I parked. The shower house is metal and not cleanable. We have stayed in at least 200 campgrounds since I have seen the quarter showers, I refuse to strand there and feed quarters into a shower. Seems like this is the owner telling his customers you are just a source of money. There are other ways to stop people from leaving them on. The water pressure from the hookup was very low. Two sites share a faucet and I had to use two 25 foot hoses to connect up to water. Rather than using money to upgrade the park, the owner has a brand new $10,000 quad 4 wheeler. He woke us up driving it around about 7 PM. Nice toy. The dump station is right on an uphill slope on the only way out of the park which blocks anybody else from leaving. There was no laundry. Trees need to be trimmed. The area itself is very nice and we had a great time. Quaint little fishing village and great restaurants. We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Motorhome.

The park was easy to find. The site assigned to us was too small for our rig. The next site had no water unless you had very long hose as the neighboring site had two faucets. When we asked the owner about it he said that everyone should have a 75 foot water hose and an electric extension cord. The bathrooms were mediocre. The owner had lots of petty rules, such as no mats on ground, even on gravel. I would not stay here again. We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
