We were nicely surprised by the trees providing shade at the 50 amp sites! Grass and dirt level sites that are wide and long. Nice staff keeping the place looking good. - GailMOH
Aug 2017 - $35.00
This park cost us $45 less a night than a previous one and has better sites without all the glitz. Our site was spacious, good utilities and good wifi! We found it a good value. Park is quiet. Don't let the bar part of the name turn you away, although it might be a plus to some. It doesn't intrude on the park. - padre

Location off US 2 was perfect for a night on our way to Glacier. Limited sites with full hookups. Looked like a lot of folks were monthly renters. No one visited 5+ campers that were parked near us the entire time we were there. Would stay here again - for one night to get some rest. - ruddellp

We stayed overnight on our way to Alaska. Lots of room for our RV and tow car. Check in is done in a bar/restaurant which was kind of fun, wife had to come and see what was taking so long to check in. They had a nice fish fry that night which made it an easy choice for dinner. Would definitely stay here again. - RickThor
Jul 2018 - $35.00
Our Site was nice and level. We had plenty of space for our trailer and tow vehicle. The space was wide enough to put out our slides without difficulty. Verizon was great. Staff was friendly. We stayed for an overnight stop and it was perfect for that. There is a gas station with the bar and office. - Islandcpa
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Very basic campground, sites level some dirt 1-21 and grass sites 25 - 38. Combination campground, gas station, bar, restaurant. The 50 amp sites are limited: call ahead.
Note: Site 18 is 50 amp but an "overflow" site, not level and prone to water, used as a road when not being used as a site so it is rutted. We were not told it was an overflow site, did not want to set my jacks in the mud, relocated to site 32 which is only 30 amp. Was grass and level with sewer, satellite friendly.
Camp used by 4x4 enthusiasts as there is a trail next to the campground. Turned out it was much quieter than it looked at first with the number of 4x4's on the campsites. Restrooms and trash a ways from the back sites. Great Verizon signal, do not know if there is park wifi. Roads easy enough for a big rig if you stay to the rear sites. There is a casino a few miles down the road. Food at the bar is limited but good. No dog park but lots of grass for Rover. - wtravlr1

Well My family and I are regulars since we live in Bessemer. We know the seasonals down here. If you like to go to bed early, DO NOT COME HERE!! There is a lot of partying here but it will be quiet by 11PM. The rate is a little expensive for what you get. 5 spots are walk-in spots and another 5 are tent spots along the lake so that doesn't leave many spots for trailers. If you are traveling I suggest you go to the driftwood where you can get a spot. There are no reservations. - Yooperboy

This campground is very small and right next to a fairly busy road that ends at Lake Superior. We stayed here because the campground that we had reservations at (Loon Lagoon Campground) was uninviting. The owners are just starting up this campground and are very friendly and helpful. No showers, or restrooms, except for the bathrooms in the bar on the grounds. We wouldn't stay here again, simply for the fact that it's right on a fairly busy road. - MaryB61

Needed a one nighter, no frills. This was it. 20 large, level and wide back-in spaces. Tower and spigot are set back a bit so a long-ish cord and hose would help. Back of the lot so highway noise is minimal. Restaurant and casino on site. You get a few discounts and freebies when checking in at the gift shop. Towers are locked, they come out and remove the key once you check in. Would stay again. - Nevada Nick
Aug 2014 - $21.00
We weren't sure what to expect when we arrived because the online reviews for this casino were so varied. The 12 sites are along the back of the parking lot and are all angle back in sites. They each have a 30/50 amp connection and a water hook-up. Sign in at the casino gift shop and they will send security out to unlock the utilities. We camped here on Labor Day weekend arriving early Friday afternoon. Plenty of sites available. 8 miles from the town of Ashland. - RosieandThumper
Aug 2012 - $21.00
As other reviewers have mentioned, hook ups are locked until you pay inside the gift/smoke shop. Check in was painful for us as another camper ran in ahead to get in line while her husband struggled to park their big fifth wheel unassisted. There was way too much paperwork to complete for an overnight stay. The clerk allowed two locals to then cut in ahead of me to buy cigarettes after my long wait for the previous camper, and then assisted a third cigarette buyer during our transaction. We had little to no Verizon signal and the WiFi signal was marginal. We enjoyed a great breakfast (despite the smoking permitted inside the restaurant) at the casino, dumped our tanks at the gas station and took care of some business at the post office next door. We will probably not stay again as we rely heavily on Verizon for internet and phone service. - BigRigTravelerUSA

We where supposed to have arrived on a Thursday for our reservations, however do to a break down our arrival was not until late Friday evening. The state park office staff was friendly and very understanding. There is only 1 dump station and water station. We found our site quickly and got set up for the evening. Very quiet location. No local TV channels to be found. The trees where covered with leaves so no satellite either. Communicate worked via Verizon only. If you want solitude, and alone time this would work. - Dcrbeloit
Sep 2015 - $45.00
It is hard to understand that the sites with electric had nasty, smelly, pit toilets and the showers were half a mile away. The sites were OK but you has to pay $10 for your car, $10 for electricity and $25 for camping. We have stayed in much nicer private campgrounds for less and got clean restrooms and showers near the sites. - PF Churchill
Jul 2015 - $17.00
This is a beautiful State Park in a wooded setting. This campground has several hiking trails that include a few waterfalls. Our site was shaded and had a fire ring and table with generous space. There are nice showers and toilets with running water as well as pit toilets available. We sighted several deer and other wildlife in the park, including a bear! - User3016

This is a first come first served park, we lucked out and got a great spot right on Lake Superior with a wide grassy yard between. But we got there by 12:15. By 12:30 all four available sites were taken. Would stay again definitely. Never saw the camp host. No office. But all seemed okay accept no one to get the bathroom code from if it were needed. - Diane and Tom
Aug 2019 - $30.00
Would get a 10 if it was full hook up. Lucked out and got there early am and got a waterfront site. There were three sites that were not reserved for a month on water. people come and go all the time here so you can almost always get a spot if you come early enough. Might get lucky and get one in afternoon. Lovely park Verizon was great. No wifi right now here. Dump is in parking lot. There is an overflow down the street you can call and ask about. Would come again. Staying 8 nights. first come first serve spot. Only month reservations taken. Bike path in front of park. playground and small beach. - DarcysOnTheGO
Jun 2019 - $30.00
Beautiful city owned park on Lake Superior in the cute town of Ashland. No reservations are taken unless you wish to stay a month or longer. We were able to get a lake front site though it was the only one available. The camp host informed us that all of the lakefront sites were reserved from July through September. Our extra large back in site was mostly level packed dirt and gravel. 50 amp electric service worked well. No internet service is provided, but good Verizon data and mobile. OTA TV with limited service. Walking trails are available right outside of the park along the Lake which were great for dogs. Good access to Apostle Islands area. We would stay again but know interior sites were not as nice as lakefront. - bbmidwife

THIS REVIEW IS OF THE OVERFLOW LOT, NOT THE RV CAMPGROUND. We stopped in the early evening of a holiday weekend & all the sites were taken. The parks & rec people sent us over to the power plant overflow parking lot. No hookups, but it sure was cheap. We were on the shore of Lake Superior. Not near, but just 15' from the water. However, we were all alone in an industrial area. We checked the crime stats and Ashland has the number one worst crime rate in all of Wisconsin. A quick call to the local police wasn't reassuring. Without any other RVers there, we decided to bug out. - 4forsmores
Aug 2018 - $30.00
We chose this place for it's amenities. I even called the Parks & Rec department ahead of time to verify the facilities. DON'T BE FOOLED! I NEEDED wi-fi for work and IT IS NOT HERE! If you need wi-fi yourself and choose to stay here, plan on trips to McDonald's. The park is very nice. It is asphalt, even though there are uneven sites. The restrooms are nice and the shower facilities are decent as well. There are not a lot of spots here (6, I think) so they are first come - first served. Electricity and Water, but you must drive to the other side of town to dump. Once again, it's not a bad RV Park, but I think advertising wi-fi to attract people is wrong. - mlbpafan
Sep 2016 - $25.00
Wife and I camped here 1 night on our way across US-2 to WA. Small campground but very clean and had full hookups. More suited for pull behind campers and tent camping. Just off US-2 in Ashland and an easy in and out. I would definitely stay here again. No internet was available during our visit; has wifi but could not connect. Shaded and open sites. - tlonkey

A nice little park directly off the highway. Close to restaurants, fuel and downtown. Camp Host was never seen. Fresh water available at the dump station. FHU for $25 day or $125 wk is very cheap. You fill out an envelope with your information and put cash or check in envelope drop it through slot in the door. We stayed 7 days and there was some standing water after the rain but really not that bad. Our site was level and easy in and out. We would stay here again when in the area. - JR and The Boys
Jun 2018 - $25.00
The park has only 10 or so sites for large rigs. The rest were good for tents and class c's maybe. The shower/restrooms were clean but old. There were hooks and benches. I had a full hookup site but for 25$ seemed pricey concede ring the park setting. The big rig loop was easy to enter but we backed out because there was low branches and a tight turn to pull through. - Gurleymon
Jun 2016 - $10.00
Plus side is that they have recently upgraded about 10 pull through sites to 50amp. Minus sides are that the place is prone to flooding and standing water. Pads are gravel and somewhat level. Be sure and use mosquito repelant when outside walking dogs. Not sure we will stay here again. If you just want a place for a quick over-nite this would work. - Deputydan

Site was not level, but owner assisted in leveling. This is a small park with only a few sites. Good location to visit Copper Falls State Park. $3.00 charge to use dump station that I thought was tacky. Why not add some charge to nightly charge? Park was on a small lake and boat rental was available. We would stay here again. - 1coloradan

My husband and I had a great time at this resort! I have, off and on been visiting this resort for more than 10 years. This is my husband's first visit here and not 24 hours into our 7 night stay he wanted to book again next year! Great owners who are willing to bend over backwards for you to make sure your stay is 100% relaxing! The negative comment left is no were near the truth of this little piece of heaven! - Stefanie

Not only has our family camped in Wildwood Haven’s campground many times, but we have stayed in their cabins as well. The cabins are clean, comfortable, with fully stocked kitchens (you will need to bring your own towels). The owners are wonderful people with a lovely family. We can’t say enough about this wonderful "jewel in the woods." The sound of the loons will be your alarm clock in the morning, and send you off to sleep at night. We have never seen sunsets so beautiful as we have sitting on the lake in the evening. Bring your camera! We will be back again next year. Counting the days until we can enjoy this place again. Thanks Wildwood Haven for another great vacation. - Chip Messiner
