This being close to my home, we've stayed here for many years through different camping rigs. This was my longest stay. I agree their price is too high for what you get from an amenity perspective. What is great is that they usually have space. In this case, it is the closest I could get to Minnesota for the State Fair. I have been in high end Thousand Trail parks that are not as nice nor do they have as much green as this park. Restrooms are old but always cleaned and functional. Sites are grassy which is so nice to have. Pool is maintained even when not busy. The family has owned this place for 54 years. My biggest complaint is that Good Sam discounts are only military or over 55. We were in A9, W-S-E. Good clean power (30 Amp). Cash or check only at this RV park. No credit/debit cards. I work remotely. My AT&T hot-spot was not able to provide any data. I had to use T-Mobile on my phone for connectivity. The place is quiet and close to town for anything you'd need. - Orracle
Jun 2019 - $39.00
We did receive a $3.00 refund for not getting any water service! That's about the best I can say! $39 for an eye level grass site where the grass hadn't been cut for a long time! The place was run down, but still charging rates that would make you think it was top-notch! Disappointing is the best word to describe it. It was our maiden voyage and we couldn't use the toilet, or the shower, or the sink without water!?! It was fairly clean, but we had to cross a somewhat busy road to get to the bathrooms. Would not go back. - RVAMember610
Jun 2018 - $44.00
2 stars for the pool only - it is extra long, but extremely outdated. This campground and facilities are extremely run down and outdated - from the boat landing to the cabins to the campgrounds to the "playground". The playground is just an old rickety wood ghost of what it was, so they add those plastic things you see at daycares! No grass just ant hills! Neither the bar nor the game room were open the whole weekend. Way over priced at 43.00 a night. Not only do they charge you for every little thing, like electric, water and dump, but they add tax on top of it! Half the campground was over run with swamp and marsh and closed off. The picnic tables were deteriorating, some had orange construction caution fencing around them. The only people camping here were old farts who never left their big rig RVs. No fire pits on the sites, they are communal fire pits throughout the campground. Don't be fooled by the website, it paints a much nicer picture than it really is - this place is a dump! - 272653

This is an awesome gem for the county. What used to be a dump and was neglected has been taken over by the local township. They have done a great job at renovating the park and starting to modernize it. They have added water to most sites, sewer to some and over hauled the electrical system. New restrooms and showers, however not well maintained during the weekend. The sites are tight and the roads are tight, some pruning of trees and strategic culling would make the campground more accessible. We were here in a 30' 5th wheel, it was scary driving through but possible. - JasonW

We stayed here four nights. The sites are close together but the CG was not full so we had plenty of space. The restrooms are very clean, but basic. There is no cable but antenna service is ok. Coming in you have to check in at the motel desk, but that isn't crystal clear in the signage. Th owner went out of his way to get the name of a local RV repairman to help me with a job. He was excellent. The CG is convenient to the main highway. It is a good base to explore Chippewa Falls and Eau Clair. Don't miss the Leinenkugel Brewery. Also the Chippewa Falls Museum of Industry and Technology is a great little museum. They have several of the original Cray computers. The sites back up to the woods for a nice feel. Most sites are back in. The is at least one pull through. There was enough space to stay hooked up with the truck but we disconnected to be able to explore the area. - rob3
Aug 2018 - $44.00
Super nice owners, great wifi, clean, comfortable sites, beautiful location (just off hwy 53). Good food 1 black walk. Quiet!!! Great water pressure. Fresh water had no bad odors or taste. We need no pool or big amenities... just a nice, attractive site that's easy to get in and out of. Clean easy hookups. They had some beautiful canopied bench and table areas, nice touch. Just peaceful and pretty. This is a hidden gem. - Hockeymm11
Jul 2017 - $40.00
We were enroute to Minnesota, and this was a very convenient place to stop close to the highway. Clean place, friendly service; check-in at the motel office. Nice quiet place with very little highway noise. Campground open from May 1st to mid October. There are things to see and do nearby. Best for one-night stays, adequate for longer stays if you don't need on-site activities. We would stay here again. - Arby473

Stayed in the newly opened area with full hookups 50/30amp. Great pull-thru and back-in sites. Clean and close to shopping and Chippewa Falls. Downside is poor wifi. Use address 2302 Nelson Rd, Chippewa Falls as Garmin gets you lost. Google maps works well. Weekly rate was $200 +tax ($208). - HickoryCamper
Jun 2019 - $45.00
When finished, this will be a huge park. I have no idea how many power pedestals we saw installed, but there is a lot to finish. Because of this, the sites are rough gravel and grass but utilities were fine. Biggest problem we had was finding this place, thee are no nearby exits off the highway sos you have to go surface roads including narrow residential streets. But once you're there it's OK. If we to be in the area again I would try to find an more accessible park but I would stay here again. - jOHNONTHEROAD
May 2019 - $19.00
Great check in experience, great park and location for the price quiet at night. A lot of long term stay neighbors though including some questionable ones that they let in. These neighbors seem to be on welfare and packing an entire family into a popup camper. They also appear to be recovering addicts of some sort. Otherwise great value, great park, and very quiet at night. - baywatch3707

Quirky little campground but obviously popular; was full by 9pm. Office was closed when we first pulled in other campers very helpful. Not overly helpful owner was able to accommodate us (no reservations). Site was tight, close to others & not very level. - Our-Wandering-Casa

Only stayed one night but this place is a hidden gem. It was clean and well maintained. The owners are new and are very helpful and hard working hosts. Recycling available on site. Our only issue was with the gnats but this may just be a regional issue this time of year. A much needed quiet restful night on our long journey this summer. Will definitely be back. - Terry Custer

We will likely return to this County Park! Sites are quite nice and wooded - and of adequate size. Large motorhomes might have a problem navigating the roads or setting up on some of the sites. #29, 31, & 33 should work for motorhomes (others too). No flush toilets - but clean vault toilets. The custodian is real friendly and good source of information. Not much hiking here, a small beach (actually quite nice) and playground for kids for entertainment. Quiet at night and lots of stars! An excellent campground to get-away and relax. If you have a boat, there are several campsites with their own boat dock. Sites are $14/night + $5 if you have an electric site + $5 if you have a site with a boat dock. A big wheelbarrow load of wood is only $6. Good cell phone coverage. - AndersonFamily

Great spot with FHU for $30. It is parking on grass in an open field, so of course, in case of rain, it would be a mess. The spots would be tight if it were full too, but it wasn't when we went, and that was the Labor Day weekend. We were able to get the spot at the last minute and were happy. No amenities, but easy in and out. Camp hosts were nice. We would go here again. - dorcol
Jun 2017 - $20.00
First -- the campground (meaning the section with full hookups and the dump station) no longer exists -- the man in charge told me it fell into a canyon during an erosion event last fall and is being completely rebuilt. That was not mentioned on the website when I made my reservation. I checked and there is now an alert telling people to call before they make reservations. That campground is being rebuilt -- as is a big section of the fairground complex including construction of a large metal stage for concerts. I'm not sure when the campground proper will be open for business. I stayed in a separate water/electric section which is in a different part of the fairground. They have put in four huge electric boxes each with 4 fifty amp hookups; 4 30 amp hookups and numerous 20 amp hookups. The are located at the back of a grass field immediately to your left when you enter the fair ground. Only the two boxes nearest the dirt road have water hookups. There are no breakers; there are no designated sites. I just drove around the grassy field -- the campground manager came and mowed the area while I was unhooking -- until I found a position that worked for me. Bring long hoses and extension cords. There was one other gentleman there with a fifth wheel. Construction on the fair grounds (which is pretty noisy) starts at 6 am and lasts till 6 pm. Despite all this I was quite happy here -- the campground manager was delightful and up front about what was going on -- and I loved having a huge green field almost to myself. Irvine Park (over 300 acres with a creek through the middle) is right across the street with a zoo, a playground, a swimming area, and many beautiful hiking/walking trails. There are many things to do in the area so if you don't like the noise you have alternatives. It was very convenient to access. Follow the directions in the other reviews. Showers and restrooms are available. - SoloRed

This is a great place to stay. It is quiet and there are a lot of places and things to do. Close to an awesome nature park that had music on Sunday afternoon and the Leinenkugels brewery. There is also an ice cream parlor that is rated one of the ten best. Friendly historical town and area. MANY MANY things to see. - Starr-1226

Jul 2018 - $58.00
We had a easy to get to pull through with good directions from the office on how to get there with our big rig. This is a BIG family place but we were here during the week, so it was reasonably quiet. Lots of people who come here for the summer. It was easy to get to and easy to navigate the park on paved roads and a paved site. The pricing seems high, especially because we did not take advantage of the kid amenities and activities. But they are full and in a good location. We had good Verizon service and our site was open to get satellite. Nice and quiet park overnight, which was appreciated. - Danni

This was our first RV campground experience and it certainly gave us a good start. Wonderful facility with the winding river and lots of trees. Very kid friendly which made it a lively place, although it was quiet at night. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Coming back. - eranike

Stayed on a Sunday night off season had a paved full hookup spot site was fine but price given the day of the week and date was very high Camp had lots to do - mostly seasonable Would be great for kids but too expensive for what I got for a overnight spot $53.00 plus tax. - rr2254545

Sep 2019 - $40.00
We were in the campground's newer section and had full hook up. It looks like it might have been recently purchased and subdivided into back-in sites (There were no pull thru sites). There was no shade in this section and the owners were very forth coming with this information when we called for reservations. They have planted trees but it will be a few years for shade to come from them. They do not have a shower house in this section. The older section of the park has lots of shade trees and a 2 nice play areas- one for preschool aged children. And they have a pool. The cost of firewood was very reasonable. The owners were very personable. We would not hesitate to come back here again. - Warreninvestor
Aug 2017 - $30.00
Small campground. Many of the sites are seasonal or permanent. We had reserved an FHU 50 amp arrived to get a 30 Amp electric and water site. Campground charged us $10 for the honey wagon... Roads are very tight and difficult to maneuver. Dump station is at a drive-in and not exit so you have to drive through the entire park to dump. Park is quiet and remote with no noise. Wifi really does not work. Verizon cell was 3 bars and a satellite was easy to set up. Most spots are tree lined so a fixed dish may be a problem. Remote campground so bring in what you may need. A quiet place with no trains or road noise. - BrianStacifulltimers
Jul 2016 - $17.00
This park is everything we expect in an Rv park. First, it is breathtaking in its beauty. Tall trees, green grass, secluded from traffic and noise. Seconds, this park is loaded with amenities. A pool, basketball court, pedal cars, bouncy pillow, volleyball court, mini golf, and lots of paved roads to ride your bike. Third, this park has lots of seasonal sites, which we despise, but this park has the most gorgeous seasonal sites. Each site is beautifully landscaped with each site tastefully done with porches and gazebos. The management of this park truly cares about how this park looks. Fourth, this park is reasonably priced. They do not charge for extra people in your rv. And if you use your passport discount, like we did, you will save even more. Fifth, the management takes care of any issues you have right away. We had an issue at our site and within moments, someone came and took care of it. Wonderful!
Be advised, however that there is no sewer at your site. You will have to use the dump station when you leave. This park is wonderful and we definitely will return. - Perfection expected

This is a self service parking area on the left side of a sort of paved road. You park parallel to the grassy area to the left. There are 4 30A hookups right together in the center. I paid the $10 to reserve a space. Not sure how 4 rv's would use the 4 30A receptacles unless they parked parallel to each other. Also not sure who would referee if you arrived and the 30A receptacles were taken and you made a reservation. There is no one around. Extremely quiet at night (Friday night there was a band in a building that quit about 11 PM). Saturday afternoon a group set up at the pavilion near the bathrooms. They arrived early Sunday and started cooking. About mid day vans brought people in and they served what looked like several hundred lunch. There are water spigots at several of the buildings. You would have to have several hoses or drive on the grass to use them. There are tent and rv sites with or without 15A receptacles. I-94 is less than a mile away, - mrracechaser
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This park worked very well for our purpose so I rated accordingly. The campground is located on the Eau Claire Exposition grounds. The sites for RVs and other travel trailers that use electric are in a parking lot. We were the only ones there. The contact person said unless there is an event at the Expo Center the campground is sparsely used. Tents sites are located in a field near the picnic area.
The Restrooms are next to the picnic area and are clean and well lit. A single spacious shower is available for men and one for women. The park is clean, well lit and safe. However, there is no one on duty all the time. It is not somewhere to stay for a lengthy stay to be one with nature. It is a convenient , clean and safe place to stay on the way to a final destination or if you are involved in an Expo Event. - skeeter417
Jun 2015 - $25.00
If there are no events going on these campsites are for rent. The Expo center is easy on/off I-94 and good for an overnight . The location is only a few miles from major shopping and restaurants. The electric sites are 20 amp so you have to decide what you need on. If you have pets there is plenty of room to walk and trash cans to dispose of waste. There is also a walking trail with an honor pay station. Very quiet at night. - petpeople
