Before selecting this CG, I checked RVPR first, identified the top five in Door County based upon scores, then visited each first. This was clearly the best based upon our criteria: 1) clean, quiet, well maintained CG, 2) sites large and level with FHU (most) and good utilities, 3) adequate internal roads to navigate, and either pull-thru or easy back-in, 4) shade from mature but trimmed trees and plenty of room between. This CG has an older section that started out as a mobile home park, hence about a dozen sites have a permanent home. This is the reason for the larger than typical sites and so much space between them - in the old section. The new section in the expansion field are the typical rows of aligned sites. There are no amusement amenities however (no pool, playground, game-room, store, etc.) so its better suited to adults who like quiet and spacious surroundings. I concur with the other 2017/2018 reviewers - see their comments. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Really nice RV Park, great location. Sites were spread out and we backed up to a cherry orchard. There was a steep hump when entering from the second entrance and we have very low clearance; we made it okay but it was close. Wished we knew about this beforehand. If you have low clearance call them and ask for directions to the third entrance which is not marked. Verizon service was excellent. We were able to get Direct TV satellite from our site (D14) with no problem. Gravel roads, they were easy to navigate with our 45' motor home. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We took the ferry to Washington Island from Gills Rock with our bikes. Rode all over Washington island. It was great. Went to the Explosive Fish boil at Rowleys. Food was "eh", but the show and experience was terrific. You must go to Fred and Fuzzies for a meal or a drink. It is an amazing setting in Sister Bay. Of course see the goats on the roof of Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant in Sister Bay.

Easy access for big rigs. Note: There is more than one entry to the park. We were met by a friendly couple as we drove in, given our site information, and asked to get settled and then return to pay for our stay. They don't accept credit cards, cash/check only. We were here 18 days and were sad to leave. Door County is a special place. This is a large park with a number of seasonal, maybe permanent residents. All sites that we saw were well maintained and folks were friendly. There are a lot of mature trees in the "main" section of the campground. As others have mentioned, there is a newer section of the campground that has no trees and offers no privacy between sites. There are both pull-through and back-in sites available. Sites are gravel. Interior roads were easy to navigate, even with our car in tow. The utilities at our site were perfectly placed for class A motor homes, and they worked as expected. At the time of our stay, there was no cable in the newer section, but it appeared as though they were working on supplying it to the newer section. We had 4 OTA PBS channels. There was no designated pet area, but there was plenty of open green space to walk pets. Verizon cell service was hit and miss during our time in Door County. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

We decided to stay at Hy Land based on the prior reviews. Access to the campground was easy. There are now four entrances, two from the main road, one in the corner (tight, brushed some small branches) and one from the side road. Any size rig can camp here. Our back in site was spacious and had a great tree canopy. There was occasional road noise however the song birds in the morning muffled all other noise! The camp hosts were great. They loaned us a cooler when our RV refrigerator broke down and delivered ice with it. The camp ground is well planned. Every site was level and most are tucked in between trees. If you want to camp alone, you can do it here. If you want to camp with a group, it's great for that too. Interior roads were well maintained dirt, wide and other than the corner entrance, clear of branches. The field area is now pull throughs with open area. If you need satellite service, this is the spot to go for. There were a few well maintained full season sites. Overall, great campground and I would definetly camp here again. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Several state parks are within a 15 min drive. Peninsula state park has a great hiking trail (Eagle Trail) along the water with overhanging cliffs. Newport State Park is less developed and had a great trail along Lake Michigan. Sunsets in Sister Bay. Other than some local markets, Piggly Wiggly is the only supermarket in the area.

Very nice tree shaded area of the park. Back-in with FHU site 30 is closer to the road and Highway 42 noise. Didn't bother us too much. Pleasant, visually appealing CG and enjoyed walking the dogs around and also up the road that is adjacent to the park. Hosts delivered our firewood. They are very congenial and professional. There is a huge grassy area in the back to walk your dogs also. The camping back there is without the trees. Very close to Sister Bay and Ellison Bay , as well as, Gills Rock. We discovered a fabulous dog park in Sister Bay in the Sports Complex. It is huge, almost two acres and securely fenced with picnic tables and some trees for shade. Very, very nice. Sister Bay has a Piggly Wiggly. We will definitely return. Cash or check only. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed four nites in the heavily wooded section in FHU with cable. Cable was spotty but service and site and bathrooms were great and the location is close to everything you might wish to see or do on the top half of the penninsula. Note...cash/check only. Bathrooms are dated but clean and showers are cobbled together and wonderful! One of our favorite parks...we will return, for longer. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spend a day taking the ferry & exploring Washington Island. Stop at Renards Cheese on the way up the Penninsula (habanero cheddar ....muy caliente!) Go all the way north to the county park ...take the dirt road and short path to great views from the Bluff & check out the cherry orchard too.

This is a very well run campground. The open sites for big rigs provides 50-amp full hookups with open sky and excellent wifi. For those who prefer the wooded sites, they appeared to be very roomy. The bathroom area is old but well-maintained. The location is convenient to Sister Bay and Washington Island. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Didn't use or check out the restrooms or showers so can't comment about them. Our site was in the new area and didn't have a lot of shade. Large back in site was level and long enough for our 35 ft. trailer and 22 ft. truck. The water pressure seemed low at times. Maintenance was good and the park was very nice. I would stay here again. Very convenient to all of the tourist attractions in the area. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park not far from Sister Bay. Mostly wooded lots, but we were put into what appeared to be an "overflow" area with no trees. A significant number of long term people, but their "homes" were well kept up. Note that they charge $4/night for any number of people over 2, so our nightly rate became $57 because there were 4 of us. For that much money, it pushed this campground into the "not worth the money" category for us. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quiet and pretty park. We were in a large pull- through site with full hook-ups. No cable TV but satellite worked fine. Spacious sites. Big field in front of our site was great for walking dog. Staff were wonderful. We extended our stay with no problem. This park has no pool or other amenities. I wouldn't think it would be great for kids but we loved the peace and quiet. Great location for Sister Bay, restaurants, ferries, shopping. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park was by far the best park we have ever stayed at. Super clean and quiet with lots of space between campers. Firewood and ice are available. Family owned and everyone working the office and grounds were just the nicest!! Campground is so close to lots of great places to eat, boat rides, charters and shopping it far enough away from things that you still felt tucked into the woods. Most sites are full hookup with cable. Tons of trees made for awesome shade. Each spot was very level too, just minor adjusting. We will absolutely be returning!! Sites are wide, deep and level. Each site has at least one concrete pad, some have two. Gravel roads, management keeps them in good repair. Electric and water were excellent. Many sites are tree coverage, park offers free cable with a cable box. Newer sites towards the back of the park are more open where satellite will work. Park is very quiet. No pool, playground or other kid friendly activities. They only have firewood for sale which is a value plus they deliver it to site. Large field in the back to walk or run your dog. Park is close to Sister Bay and the ferry to Washington Island. We will come back! We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely park. We booked early for two sites together and they gave us a beautiful choice with a lawn and fire pit between us. Stayed for 4 nights. Wonderful experience; level, spacious, full hook up sites. Quiet and well taken care of - spotless. Staff was excellent and very friendly from check in through our entire stay. About 50% seasonal sites. They are in the process of adding new sites that are in a more open area for satellite signal. This is not really a "kids" campground in that there are no play areas, pool, etc, which was fine for our purpose of exploring the area. Will definitely return. Very secluded & quiet. Well kept grounds. No dog park, but could let your dogs off the leash in the large field in the back. This will probably end once the new sites are opened up in the back. WiFi is all but nonexistent. There was a comment about the Mgmt making the WiFi better. Time will tell. The lady that checked us in was a little grumpy. Not much personality or people skills. Only had to deal with her once, so it was okay. Had a good stay & plan on staying there again. Please fix the WiFi. We camped at Hy-Land Court RV Park in a Motorhome.
