Stayed here at the Wagon Trail Campground in Door County, Wisconsin and the service and staff are excellent. The campsites were pretty level and the restrooms and showers have been recently remodeled and are very clean. From the campground there are some nice trails to the nearby Mink River and to a fairly quiet beach are on the shores of Lake Michigan. The water up here is much clearer than you will see in the lake down by Chicago. If you have a tow vehicle, you could easily spend a week traveling around the nearby areas and exploring this part of Wisconsin. Lot's of scenic drives and fun places to stop. I hope to make Wagon Trail Campground part of an annual tradition. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Definitely go to the fish boil at the nearby Rowleys Bay Resort. Nearby towns have many attractions and activities.

Semi private and very quiet campsites. Lots are decent size and compact gravel, easy to level our TT. Our two kids enjoyed the space and small playground. Store was well stocked, and everything was flawless. Bathrooms were well cleaned, as was the laundry and all of the pathways and campsites. Should we travel back here again we will be back. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Sand Bay Park is a beach that is very close to the campground, it's a sand bar that goes out pretty far into the lake and isn't very deep, great for little kids.

Located in the northern part of Door County (DC) but don't let that stop you from staying here. DC is long and narrow so you are never far from the action. This was our third stay here. We looked at others but you can't beat Wagon Trail. Many other campgrounds are adjacent to the highway and road traffic is noisy. Owner and her staff will make you feel welcome. Showers, restrooms and laundry are spotless. Nicely stocked camp store. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

If I could give this campground 100 stars I would. It's beautiful, it's quiet, scenic, gorgeous walking trails, a fantastic place to stay! The employees are the nicest and most knowledgeable people I've ever come in contact with. Everything was spotless, the bathrooms/showers, laundry room, lounge, you name it, you couldn't ask for a more pleasant campground. This was our first time but you can get it won't be our last! We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

You MUST go to Grandma's Bakery at Rowley's Bay for the cinnamon rolls! Only a 10 minute walk from where we were in the campground and since we walked I didn't feel so bad about gorging myself!

This is one of the best planned and executed campgrounds we've found in all of our travels. It is carved out of the pine forest so each huge campsite seems isolated. The shower rooms set the gold standard. Simply a fabulous destination spot to enjoy this picturesque community. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Wagon Trail Campground three years in a row while visiting Door County. We love the size of the campsites as well as wooded privacy. The bathrooms and showers are sparkling clean. The campground is located on the far northern end of the peninsula which is away from the crowded areas, but not too far to easily bike into Ellison Bay or Sister Bay or drive to the beautiful State and County parks. We love campsites #514 and #515. The sites are very level, and there is plenty of room for our fifth wheel, truck, and screen house.

The reason I rate Wagon Trail an 8 is that there are only a limited number of sites with full hookups and many of those sites to not have the privacy and space that the premium electric/water sites have. Wagon Trail does offer a convenient pump out service for $15. That's nice for us since we were staying 10 nights. Also, access to internet and cable is very limited. There is a pretty good signal in the office/lounge area, just not at our campsite. It rained a few days while we were here, and the campsites drain very well, and the campground staff is quick to keep the gravel roads well graded and raked after rain. The dumpsite has hand sanitizer, a sewer hose and garden hose which makes it convenient.

We have always had good luck with the firewood purchased there as well. They keep it dry; they charged $5.25 for a nice-sized bundle. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Seachrist Farms cherry pie is amazing!! We enjoy the car ferry over to Washington Island/Rock Island leaving Northport, Sunset Bike Trail at Peninsula State Park, hiking at Newport State Park, climbing along the rocks at Cave Point County Park, and touring the lighthouse at Cana Island. The fish boil at the Old Post Office in Ephraim was really good and not too pricey. Bargains Unlimited Resale shop in Sister Bay is a great stop.

Overall Rating:

This was our third visit to Wagon Trail. We'd go more often, but we live about 6 hours away. The campground is really one of the nicest ones we've stayed at, in terms of scenery, facilities and staff.

The sites are level and private, with several loops. They are woodsy. Most have electric and water (which tastes pretty good) but no waste hookup. There are some pull throughs near the front, but most are back-in.

The staff is invariably friendly and willing to please. The office is inviting and has a small game room and sitting area. Laundry facilities are provided, as well as plenty of clean toilets and showers. I've never experienced dirty restrooms while staying there.

There is wifi, but the signal near the office is weak. Even sitting in front of the office is iffy, you may need to enter the sitting area to get a strong signal.

The location on the peninsula seems to encourage cool pleasant weather, even when it's hot back home, although maybe we've just gotten lucky. Star gazing is a mandatory activity, and you can actually see the Milky Way. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is within walking distance of Rawley's Bay, a very pretty bay on Lake Michigan where you can fish, swim, kayak, or launch your boat from the free public boat launch, or just enjoy the lovely view. You can also catch a meal or drink at Rawley's Bay Resort, or partake in the ever popular fish boil on certain evenings.

The staff and owners here were a highlight---super friendly, helpful with ideas, and patient. Our pull-through gravel site was fairly easy to get level. Verizon 4G connected well. It rained through most of our stay, although the place looked to have some really amazing walking trails and things to do that we did not have a chance to experience. Laundry on site...2 washers, 4 dryers. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice and secluded Park located off the "beaten path" off tourist Bay side of the peninsula, but only 5 miles from all the action. Positives include great staff, clean restrooms, wooded and secluded sites with lots of space between. Negatives are all gravel interior roads, sites and patios. No Wi-Fi outside of the office, no cable, and one needs to search for satellite service, assuming one would wish to be connected. Further, sewer service is only available for a few sites. Nonetheless, given its location, we'd camp there again. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

We were given a wonderfully easy pull-through site with lots of trees and a sense of seclusion, even though it was right near the entrance and all bath/shower facilities, etc. Big level site, very welcoming and helpful front desk staff members, and meticulously clean showers and toilet stalls. Only critiques were the lack of a pool, Wi-Fi only in the main lodge, and the showers were a bit cozy sized. Beautifully kept grounds. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park, with very wooded sites that were nicely spaced. It's a great location if you want to step out of your RV and take a walk, either through the campground or right out into a hiking trail. Our TV antenna couldn't get any signals, so it was very quiet in the evenings. We also had a hard time with our phone tethered to the computer -- very slow download speeds. We'd certainly stay here again and it's just a beautiful area. We camped at Wagon Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
