Jun 2018 - $25.00
Very small city campground with lots of long term folks. All friendly. Pay for wifi. Cash or check in envelope at ay station for your site. I made reservations ahead of time and if you go I recommend that you do as well. We had the last spot. There is a golf course adjacent to park. - cchall112
Sep 2016 - $27.00
We have stayed here several times for one night; it is a convenient half way point on one of our usual trips.
The rates have gone up $2 a night since our last visit.
There are several open sites tonight but it is mid-week. All the sites that we drove by are reserved for this weekend.
We like this place. We will stay here again, I am sure. - skigramp
Jul 2015 - $22.00
This is a nice city operated campground. It's a few miles south and west of I94 and within easy driving distance of Eau Claire, about 30 minutes away. There are basically two sections of the campground. The older section consists of sites 1-21. These sites are grass camping spots with plenty of trees and a feeling of privacy. They are also water/electric only. Sites 22-42 are developed gravel campsites offering full hookups. There aren't as many trees, but a few of the sites look out over the upper portion of the lake. Many of the others border a big open grassy area that has a mown park-like feel. There are restroom/shower buildings in both sections of the park as well a big children's playground and two volleyball courts - these get a lot of use by the locals. Adjacent to the campground and, in fact, right next to several of the campsites in the older section of the campground is a nice nine-hole golf course. If a person likes to golf they can basically walk out of their camper and onto a fairway. My Verizon 4G worked well and since we were backed up to a wide open field I had no problem at all getting a satellite signal. Also worth mentioning is that the campground has excellent WiFi, a rare find in most any campground. - nazpaz
May 2019 - $43.00
We are full-timers and this is by far the best park we’ve been in. The interior roads are very wide. Sites are plenty long for my 42 foot motor home and full size truck. Lots of activities in the park. The seasonal campers are in a different area from others. Lots of areas to walk. All areas/sites are very clean. Will definitely come again, if in the area. - DDDD
Jun 2018 - $38.00
This is an excellent park for families. They have a lot of activities for the children. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Met one of the owners when we had a problem with the awning and he was very helpful and sent one of the workers over to help fix the problem. The sites are gravel but levels and clean. The whole park is clean and you will find no trash on the grounds at all because the owners and staff stop and pick it up. The site spaces are spacious and all the utilities work good. We had good Wi-Fi where we were located. - JR 108
Jun 2018 - $45.00
Perfectly level site and long pull thru. Clean friendly highly recommend this park. - almost- there
Jul 2014 - $30.00
I am afraid this "resort" gets the award for the worst campground we have stayed at-ever! First of all, it is NOT a resort, basically a bunch of campsites set in a pine thicket with a bar in the middle. Most people who were there were full time 'summer people'. The road getting there is very, very crooked and narrow, not big rig friendly at all. When I checked in, I asked if they had clean, hot showers, 'oh yes', the lady proprietor assured me. We decided not to unhook to go back down the very crooked road to town to get a bite to eat, so elected to eat at the bar. Very expensive food that was ok at best. We later wished we'd just gone back to town for a meal. The 'clean showers' were a joke, two unisex rooms with a toilet, sink and open shower(no shower curtain), tacked onto the back of the bar. Someone had seen fit to steal all the toilet tissue, so had to provide our own. Apparently the 'full timers' living there use them as their own, as their personal toiletries were scattered all over shower room. Floor was bare concrete, and nasty, nasty, nasty. I hated to even sit my shower bag on the floor, particularly since the entire floor gets wet from the open shower. Overall, just a awful, nasty experience for what I had been assured was a 'very clean, hot shower' by the proprietor. We couldn't wait to get up the next morning and get out of there and find something better. Definitely not worth the price they charge to stay at the 'resort'. - Southwest Travelers
Oct 2018 - $45.00
We stayed here for just under three months in late summer of 2018. This is a nice family oriented park with mostly seasonal spots, but enough weekend spots to fill up fairly quickly.
This campground is family owned. There is a ton of activity for the entire family, including alot of outdoor games for kids and adult events at the bar. The people here are very nice. Staff was professional if not overly friendly. Bar food and drink is very good. - Aimee K
Aug 2007 - $25.00
This campground is considered a "party campground" by local residents. We went with 2 other families and unfortunately picked "Poker Run - Harley Motorbikes" weekend. Not many campgrounds in the area have weekend openings so we went anyway. Despite some obvious problems (loud bar & a band playing till midnight) we had a good time. The pool was clean (someone told us the state just made them clean it- that makes me wonder). The bathrooms were fair - older - only 1 house and they were a bit grimy but usable. The playground was older but my kids still had fun. The Black river was awesome and kept all the children occupied the whole day. We fished but didn't catch anything, we swam, and built many sand creations. I would go again to give this place another chance. - travlin-with-tots
Sep 2018 - $42.00
Overnite stay. The out of stater price was an $11 fee plus $31/ nite so price wise $42, much over priced. The north cg was itself a nice paved loop with gravel mostly level sites well spaced with electric post at back side of site. Lots of nice grass and trees. Only 2 water non threaded water faucets. Didn't use the bath house. A short trail to a lake inlet. A close by train track. There is a dump between the 2 campgrounds we didn't use. We drove through the south cg long loop which is a distance away and is mostly small short sites for tents, without electricity. The middle of the south loop is basically a swamp. - 210jem
May 2017 - $26.00
The 322 arce park is located on the Mississippi backwaters and has a boat launch and separate canoe/kayak launch. There are also very reasonably priced canoe/kayak rentals. The park also includes a nature center, 2 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, a playground, canoe/kayak trail and excellent fishing opportunities. There are 3 campgrounds with a total of 65 sites. There are 22 sites with electric, all are in the north campground where the shower building is also located. The south campground has 35 sites, 18 on the water and 10 with water access across the road. The only downside is that there is a very active rail line running close to the park. You can actually feel the ground vibrate in the north campground. However, we stay here every Memorial day and after a while you get used to the rail traffic. - Snayte
Aug 2018 - $44.00
Wonderful experience! The owner is so nice and helpful! She really wants her guests to be happy and have a good time! The grounds are nicely landscaped, they have a great playground, basketball, volleyball, horse shoes, and cabana with wifi. A HUGE clean swimming pond! We really enjoyed that! The trees around the property are mature and beautiful! - tammiann61
Aug 2018 - $55.00
Very pricy quiet mostly seasonal campground that only allows 1 night during the week when there is very few people there. Weekend requires 2 nights. Grass and dirt sites that are at back of campground next to storage area for overnighters. They have a sand beach and pool? next to restrooms and pay showers which is why showers are dirty. Good electric water and sewer locations. Excellent Wi-Fi and OTA channels but no cable. Good for a overnighter. - Biggyrat
May 2018 - $45.00
Quiet park next to a wilderness area, which creates a BIG mosquito population. Be sure to pack your bug spray. Close to great birding areas. Great walleye fish fries. - jeanne gowan
Nov 2015 - $17.00
The weekend we were here was a very busy weekend, but was quiet at the same time. The campsites were of decent size, but giving you privacy from others. Shower/bathroom houses were old, but were kept clean. The ladies room ran out of toweling and hand soap, and some people left their children's dirty diapers on the floor next to the trash bins, which has was rather unpleasant. On a good note, there are plenty of walking trails and scenic areas for picture taking. Canoe rentals are available to paddle around on the Mississippi plus there is swimming allowed (but no beach front) as one would dive in around the boat docks. Beautiful sunsets. One final statement - the speed limit is 10mph and drivers need to slow down as there are a lot of curves going around the campsites and children playing or riding bikes, and some drivers come flying around the curves much higher faster than they should. Overall, I will stay here again. Lot spacing is nearby and mostly shady. Site surface is gravel, dirt and grass; featuring a fire ring and picnic table. - SerenityFix
Aug 2015 - $17.00
This is a beautiful park on the Mississippi River. Our campsite was partially shaded with a picnic bench and a fire ring. There are two nice bathrooms with shower facilities and several pit toilets throughout the campgrounds. There are several hiking and biking trails as well as canoe and kayak rentals. The roads are paved and sites are easy to access. This is definitely a park we will return to in the near future. - User3016
Jun 2015 - $29.00
Bathrooms were very dirty. The men's stunk to high heaven! Only had two shower houses and they were too far to walk to and dirty as well. There was a wasp nest up in the electrical box that was was decent size with a wasp on it. Was not an enjoyable experience. Won't be back. - Lisa Hagee
Jul 2016 - $29.00
Rate seemed fair for water and electric only. Site was big and lake side; there were no unexpected extra fees.
A little confusing finding site; explanation was rushed and confusing. - Travelor
Oct 2015 - $25.00
We were satisfied with the park. The gentleman at the information desk at the beginning was polite, and check in was quick, since I had called earlier in the week. The layout/numbering of the sites was a little confusing. Due to looking online, I had a general idea where my site was, but the signs were very small, and looked like they were still in the process of restructuring. When I initially hooked up my electricity, i wasn't sure if I was using the right box, it had my site number, but also had two other site numbers. The water hookup was similarly confusing. I ended up disconnecting a permanent residents pressure washer gun (I did reconnect it when I left) and hooking in that way. We weren't sure if the lines were owned by the campground or the other residents.
The site was moderately clean. There was some small litter, but nothing that upset us too much. The site was very large in width, which was nice. Having a picnic table and fire pit was also good. The WiFi had recently been boosted and reached our site on the river, good enough to watch Netflix when going to bed (a few buffering breaks).
Our biggest complaint would be noise. The train rolls through pretty frequently. Not only that, but I don't believe there is a "quiet time," since some of our neighbors were up pretty late partying.
We weren't overly impressed with the grounds, and aren't likely to stay again, but wouldn't be opposed if we were in the area and needed someplace to stay for the night while traveling through. - joshnichols84
Jun 2015 - $25.00
The sites are level, grassy, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Lots of trees and free Wi-Fi, fast enough at times to stream NETFLIX and HBO. As people noted, the water is a large hose run to all sites, with splitters. When everyone is using the water, the pressure can be low, so we simply filled our tank and used our pump. As for being potable, I'm sure it was, but we NEVER drink water out of our tanks anyway. I'm not sure why a person would think that the flooding would affect the safety of the water any more than the fact that the main hydrants are in the ground to start with? You are either in the first row, only 20' or so from the secondary channel of the Mississippi River, or in one of the two next rows, which still put you with a pretty doggone good view for $25 a night! Yes, there are plenty of permanent RVs, locals who spend their weekends, but the place has always been kept up well over the years. We probably come every 5-7 years and have never seen it with overgrown vegetation. Perhaps flooding would be affecting maintenance occasionally, but as a rule, they were pretty much mowing somewhere the entire week we were there this time. As for picking your own site, it was busy when we were there and I had reserved ahead of time, so I didn't have that option. OTOH, how can you complain that you get to pick which site you want? Seriously, I'd sure have picked a heck of a lot of different sites than I've been shoved into at other parks. This place had extensive, and I mean EXTENSIVE, playground areas off to the side. It was and always has been one of our favorite places to stay when we are in the area and I would rather hook up to a garden hose than pay another $10-15 a night to only have the short hose (still a hose!) between a hydrant and my rig. The campground closes to outsiders at 10:00 p.m. and was quiet for the entire week we were there. - chixs
Sep 2018 - $52.00
Other recent reviews should be considered. We were very happy here. Road noise, and train noise, stopped us from giving it a 10. Wifi was excellent even over the Labor Day holiday! Cable TV was good but since our satellite worked well, we didn't use the cable. Office staff very helpful! Verizon worked fine. No grocery shopping nearby. The site on the upper terraces are terrific. Good spacing between sites, long pull throughs. A nicely landscaped campground. A terrific KOA! - rncordy
Aug 2018 - $45.00
This the prettiest camp ground we have ever stayed at. There were flower gardens everywhere. There is a large dog park. Well maintained hiking trail. Lots of things for families and children. We would definitely stay here again. - dmpemt
Aug 2018 - $43.00
Stayed for the night in a pull through site - rained tons but early the next morning the staff was pick up tree limbs and regrading the interior roads that had washed out Very quiet campground as its 3 miles east of the freeway Great campground. - rr2254545
Jul 2018 - $50.00
This was a repeat stay for me to celebrate the 4th of July and reconnect will dear friends. I love this place!! It feels like home and everyone like family. Spent 6 years on a permanent site myself at another campground. I never felt welcomed like I do here. The pool was sparkling clean and very refreshing after a hot, humid day. The restrooms and laundry were also clean, organized and comfortable. I'll be back next year!!! - Waff
Jun 2018 - $41.00
We have stayed here many times over the past 4 years. I was shocked at the recent review that gave them 1 star. Granted in May when the leaves on the trees have not yet come in, the train is a little loud on the one end of the campground, but it isn't that bad. Bathrooms are by far the cleanest ones I have been in. The pool is always clean and they are very attentive to cleanliness. There is one porta-potty by the large cabin that is cleaner than most peoples bathroom at home. Great seasonal and super nice owners. Small, clean and family orientated campground. - Robyn M H
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Very friendly campground owners/ hosts. Nice older campground with tight spaces and lots of trees. Tough to get satellite to work but I did find a spot to make it happen. Sites are mainly parking on the grass but easy to navigate and utilities are placed right. Has playground for the kids. They do many park activities like Bingo etc. Small store and friendly people. Would stay again if in the area. - Johnny xxxxx
