Very small city campground with lots of long term folks. All friendly. Pay for wifi. Cash or check in envelope at ay station for your site. I made reservations ahead of time and if you go I recommend that you do as well. We had the last spot. There is a golf course adjacent to park. - cchall112
Sep 2016 - $27.00
We have stayed here several times for one night; it is a convenient half way point on one of our usual trips.
The rates have gone up $2 a night since our last visit.
There are several open sites tonight but it is mid-week. All the sites that we drove by are reserved for this weekend.
We like this place. We will stay here again, I am sure. - skigramp
Jul 2015 - $22.00
This is a nice city operated campground. It's a few miles south and west of I94 and within easy driving distance of Eau Claire, about 30 minutes away. There are basically two sections of the campground. The older section consists of sites 1-21. These sites are grass camping spots with plenty of trees and a feeling of privacy. They are also water/electric only. Sites 22-42 are developed gravel campsites offering full hookups. There aren't as many trees, but a few of the sites look out over the upper portion of the lake. Many of the others border a big open grassy area that has a mown park-like feel. There are restroom/shower buildings in both sections of the park as well a big children's playground and two volleyball courts - these get a lot of use by the locals. Adjacent to the campground and, in fact, right next to several of the campsites in the older section of the campground is a nice nine-hole golf course. If a person likes to golf they can basically walk out of their camper and onto a fairway. My Verizon 4G worked well and since we were backed up to a wide open field I had no problem at all getting a satellite signal. Also worth mentioning is that the campground has excellent WiFi, a rare find in most any campground. - nazpaz
Jun 2017 - $25.00
Park has 10 RV sites with electric and water. There also is a dump station. Tent sites also are available. The City pool is located in this Park and charges a nominal fee to use. - anmsw
Jul 2007 - $15.00
We spent 4 days here. We stayed here because it was the end of the Chippewa River Bike Trail which also meets the Cedar River trail so it was a good place to do so. Campsites are close together and are all back in, but lots of room to do so. Check out the historical museum and see the original court rooms. Read about the gunfight in 1881 and learn about the paddle wheels on the Chippewa. Unless you are just traveling through or intent on biking, this might not be the place for you. - stetwood
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This park worked very well for our purpose so I rated accordingly. The campground is located on the Eau Claire Exposition grounds. The sites for RVs and other travel trailers that use electric are in a parking lot. We were the only ones there. The contact person said unless there is an event at the Expo Center the campground is sparsely used. Tents sites are located in a field near the picnic area.
The Restrooms are next to the picnic area and are clean and well lit. A single spacious shower is available for men and one for women. The park is clean, well lit and safe. However, there is no one on duty all the time. It is not somewhere to stay for a lengthy stay to be one with nature. It is a convenient , clean and safe place to stay on the way to a final destination or if you are involved in an Expo Event. - skeeter417
Jun 2015 - $25.00
If there are no events going on these campsites are for rent. The Expo center is easy on/off I-94 and good for an overnight . The location is only a few miles from major shopping and restaurants. The electric sites are 20 amp so you have to decide what you need on. If you have pets there is plenty of room to walk and trash cans to dispose of waste. There is also a walking trail with an honor pay station. Very quiet at night. - petpeople
Oct 2016 - $38.00
We found this on Good Sam, otherwise didn't know it even existed. Had a nice stay with quite a few things in the area to see. Lots fit our 45' motorhome and vehicle well. Area was mowed but appeared to have never been trimmed around edges, under trees & shrubs or around RV hook-up areas. You have to get used to the numerous trains passing by a few blocks over all day and night. Because of family in the area we will be back. - CJWagner
Sep 2016 - $38.00
This is a very nice park with great views of the bluffs. The sites are well maintained with plenty of personal space (no fencing, just open) around. - if you have a motorcycle or bicycle, this is an ideal basecamp.
We're a traveling couple with home bases in MN and SoCal and have experienced many different parks.
A few items to note:
- Trash is picked up daily, just leave at the front of your site in the morning.
- The office is a cross highway 35 in the Nelson Creamery. While your there, you should expect to spend some time sitting on the porch for some cheese, meats, wine and beer!
- Our only negative comment is the train tracks are very close to the site. They run about every 45 mins to an hour starting around 9pm. They blow their horns when running through the town and there isn't much to baffle the noise between the park and the tracks.
- Not every site has a picnic table.
- Our site (#2) was mostly level.
We would definitely stay here again in spite of the trains. - Rosenriddle
Jul 2016 - $18.00
We loved this area and we loved this park. It's like camping in a big meadow underneath the scenic bluffs. The bathhouse is clean and the laundry has new high capacity machines that don't mangle your clothes. There's not an office on site so you check in at Nelson's Creamery across the street. Manager lady was wonderful and responded quickly to any questions we had. I noticed that one reviewer noted there are no trash receptacles and that's because you just place your trash outside and they pick it up. The only downside is the noise of the frequent trains, but after a few days we didn't notice them anymore. It's a puzzle to me why this place isn't filled to capacity all the time. The rate we paid reflects the monthly rate.
Note: Don't follow your GPS. Coming from Wabasha, turn right at the second street after the railroad tracks. Coming from Pepin, turn left at Top Hat Bar. - Wind blows
Aug 2013 - $23.00
Friendly 90yo owner. Peaceful country setting, but lots of aunts. We sprayed and had no intruders. Hubby said bathroom was old, but serviceable. Lots of older rigs that appear to be stored there. Saw very few people milling about. Great place to stay when visiting family in Eau Claire. Would stay again. - KejLrtj
Sep 2008 - $19.00
This campground is located about 4 ½ miles southeast of Eau Clair along Hwy 12 not far off of I-94. The owner is a fellow that is 86 years young. He doesn’t do any of the work around the campground. There is a seasonal tenant that does most of the work and the grounds are well kept. The campground is located on about 12 acres of treed land and fairly level. There are not a lot of full hookup sites and most of these are taken up by seasonal campers. Many of the seasonal campers look like they are just barely able to make ends meet. Sites: Full-hookup sites are VERY narrow. Most are level and sandy/grassy. Electric is 30 amps. Most sites have at least water and electric. Numerous sites are suitable for satellite reception. Campground in General: The bath house is a very tired cinder block structure. It’s dark, wet and dingy and not very well maintained or cleaned. You’ll want to use your own unit. There is also a Laundromat in the back of the bath house and rates are less than the local economy. The back of the campground is used for trailer/vehicle storage. Pets are allowed. We had no issues with uncontrolled pets or barking. You will hear highway noise, but it’s not bad. There are many ‘ol duffers who come here every year. They are very friendly and will jump at any chance to help you. This is the closest campground to Eau Claire. Rates are okay; we paid $19/night for full hookups. There’s no website, like I said, Elmer is 86 years old and doesn’t have a clue about computers. There is no Wi-Fi or other means of internet access. Go to the Arby’s on Bus 53 for a free hotspot. Shoot on up to Chippewa Falls and take the Leinenkugel's brewery tour. You'll love it!! - DelArmy
Aug 2011 - $28.00
This is a large, private campground with over 200 sites, many of which are seasonal. The sites are grassy and shaded. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. They aren't very wide so we were close to our neighbors. The restrooms were not maintained. The men room had a paper towel jam all day until we notified the owner. He fixed the paper towels, but still the restroom went without soap for over 24 hours. The floors were muddy and did not get mopped all weekend. There was a campground employee mowing the lawn on Sunday morning for about an hour, which was quite noisy. The owner left the office for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon, leaving a group of four kids, about age 12, in charge behind the desk. Unfortunately the kids did not know much about running the campground and weren't able to answer any of our questions. - Juniper94

This park has doubled the number of sites since we were here in 2012. It now has 28 FHU sites, of which only 5 are pull through. There is cable TV and Wi-Fi. The "resort" also has laundry facilities, a bathhouse, motel rooms, and cabins but no recreational facilities. - Jerry S
Jun 2018 - $45.00
We only stayed over night. Very clean and quiet , it also had a new laundry building .We had a very nice large tree and the way the site was set up we had a lot of grass we could walk our dog on all the way around our motor home . - dejavu
Sep 2017 - $45.00
This is one of those RV parks that use the word "resort" loosely. We had a very long and wide, full hookup site; grass was between the sites, with a concrete patio, but dirt and gravel surface pull through. Also had a good picnic table and fire ring. But that was it. Resorts, in my mind, should have a pool, playground for children, a small store maybe, a restaurant, rooms for meetings, scheduled activities, and concrete pads. This campground had none of these. The park was very overpriced for just a regular RV site. Also, this park is not alongside the Mississippi River, but if you look at their advertisements, it gives you the image that it is. It is quiet and satellite friendly. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed here for a week in a 39 foot 5th wheel. We would stay here again if in the area. It is a good place for a base to explore along the Mississippi River. - Mike1987
Sep 2018 - $32.00
Nice campground with helpful staff. We stayed one night. Our GPS took us to the wrong location and once we arrived we found there was a much shorter route off of I-94 through Menonomie to the campground. CALL Campground for directions! 50 Amp electric, water and sewer all good. Verizon signal sketchy. - GrandpaDan
Jul 2017 - $27.00
The campground is for both seasonal sites or overnight campers. We camped while our daughter attended orientation and registration at UW Stout. The campground is about 10 minutes from campus which is very convenient. There really aren't any extra amenities, but we didn't need any as we just needed a place to park our trailer. Restrooms and showers were clean. Site surface is dirt and grass, and offered some shade. - User3641
May 2017 - $32.00
First Impression: A small, hole-in-the-wall, off the beaten path, out in the country campground. Not too hard to find. About 3 miles (or so) south of Menomonie, WI. Nice, spacious sites. Verizon dead-zone. Safety: no concerns. Access: I took I-94 to exit 41 (local route 25), south on route 25 through Menomonie to "D" road, turn right. Watch for a hard-to-find, upside-down canoe sign on the left. GPS was correct. Office: Used for check-in, no store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available. Facilities: No pool, spa, or fitness room. Small rec center with a pay pool table ($1), chairs, small paperback library. Very small, clean laundry room. Attractive restrooms/showers are very clean with modern fixtures (score "A"). No propane sales. Small playground showing its age. No dog run. Campground: In a flood plain (Red Cedar River). Roads are dirt/gravel with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig challenging. Prevosts could have problems. Sites are all spacious, pull-through and back-in. Tent sites but no yurts or cabins. Sites are level, grass and gravel in nice condition, grass landscaping. Utilities at rear of site with FHU-20/30/50; with meters. Adequate water pressure and taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded at ground level. Site #7 has a concrete patio; picnic tables are in good condition. Fire rings. Tall trees challenge satellite views. No cable TV. OTA TV found 11 channels but poor reception. No Wi-Fi. Verizon phone at ½ bar; no 4G; occasional 3G at 1 bar with spastic coverage. No railroad, aircraft, or traffic noise. Recycle bins. Bug Report: Ants, ants, and more ants. Mounds all over the place. I sprayed and sprinkled around the fiver - twice. Runners: CG and nearby rural roads ok for running, no fitness room so no treadmills. Yoga: except for the patio at site #7, no good place for your mat. Conclusion: Not really a destination CG. A bit pricey for no amenities. Too out-of-the-way for a night-over. - StephenK
May 2019 - $43.00
We are full-timers and this is by far the best park we’ve been in. The interior roads are very wide. Sites are plenty long for my 42 foot motor home and full size truck. Lots of activities in the park. The seasonal campers are in a different area from others. Lots of areas to walk. All areas/sites are very clean. Will definitely come again, if in the area. - DDDD
Jun 2018 - $38.00
This is an excellent park for families. They have a lot of activities for the children. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Met one of the owners when we had a problem with the awning and he was very helpful and sent one of the workers over to help fix the problem. The sites are gravel but levels and clean. The whole park is clean and you will find no trash on the grounds at all because the owners and staff stop and pick it up. The site spaces are spacious and all the utilities work good. We had good Wi-Fi where we were located. - JR 108
