The park was located right next to the freeway, so it was convenient for an overnight stop. The pull through was nice and long, so we didn't have to unhook....and they had two different sewer connections for those of us who didn't want to unhook our tow vehicle. The roads were a bit dusty. The restrooms were VERY clean, but the showers were very small. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

Not bad if you like camping on the shoulder of an interstate. Incredible road noise and enough dust from the access roads to think you were in the Oklahoma dust bowl. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a clean, well maintained park. As others have said it's close to the freeway, but fortunately it's not on a hill, or a super busy exit so it's more of a constant din of traffic. Owners are very friendly and pick up garbage, deliver firewood. Our kids rented one of the cabins on the other side of the park and it was very cute. It "seems" they tended to put the campers with many kids on one side, and us oldsters on the other, which was nice. Lots for the grand kids to do. WIFI signal was okay, but as is usual no bandwidth during heavy usage times. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Enjoying the KOA in Oakdale WI, They really packed them in last night, you can tell a lot of folks are on the move in a big way. Great place super clean and they sell adult beverages made locally in the office for sale. Loving this place. Some road noise but not bad Great AT&T and Verzion signal strength for my MIFI the park Wifi is a solid 2-4Mbs but my Mifi as over 40Mbs all in all a great park, We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Our second stay at this KOA. It's a great overnight stay if it's on your way. It's a bit late in the season (October) and cold - we arrived on Saturday afternoon and the owner was leaving the office to grab some dinner, had left us detailed check-in information, including directions to our site, and all the codes we would need. I caught him as he was headed out the door, and he put his plans on hold to help me into the park, and then guided me in to my site. Park is very clean, friendly, and just off the freeway. We saw chickens wandering about (not sure where they came from) and enjoyed the kid (pygmy?) goats over in the goat pen. The dog yard is one of the better ones for a KOA, with lots of grassy area to run around. We stayed in site 16, a level pull-through site. I'll stay again if I'm in the neighborhood and need a site. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed for a night - rained very very hard - excellant drainage in the park as my morning to my surprise the campground was not a lake Our dog enjoyed the dog park - as a matter of fact they have two of them We stop here often as it is half way to our sons house, the freeway noise did not really bother us and we were on that side of the park. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is located right on the freeway and even the AC did not drown out the noise. The pool area is nice along with the bouncy pad they had in the back. All in all what you would expect from a KOA. I would not be back just due to the close proximity to the freeway. Also our site was a bit of a pain to back into (mainly because of parked vehicles around it) and the sewer connections were in the back so we could not use them. The site was not long enough to fit the truck so we had to unhook and hook in the road. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This park is very clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. There are many mature trees and the sites are adequately spaced. They had an above average sized pool and a nice playground. You could hear the traffic when you were sitting outside, but it wasn't too bad. We would definitely return to this park. Very easy access to I-90. The campground was well maintained and the staff were great. The site was level and all hook-ups worked well. There were 2 nice dog areas that were also well kept, it was nice to have cut grass in them. Stayed for 1 night, but if ever in the area again I would definitely stay again. Had planned on Walmart camping for 2 nights on the road home, but after one night in a rest area next to a refrigerated truck in the 95 degree heat, we had to find a campground. This KOA was easy off the highway, very wooded and shady. Had a pullthrough for just one night, but great hookups! Pool looked nice, they had an ice cream social ($2) on Fri and Sat afternoons and a pancake breakfast ($3) weekend mornings. It was Father's Day weekend and the place was packed with families, but quiet. Even decent cable TV, which is somewhat of a rarity. Close to the River and the Dells. I was surprised how pretty the area was too! Pilot was right on the way in. Appreciated the two grassy fenced in dog areas, not all KOAs have them! A well cared for park. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

Located for easy on and off freeway. Very helpful office staff with an ice cream social and pancake breakfast offered. Owner had a newborn goat that was adorable. It seemed fairly quiet and we opted to move to a site closer to the highway that did not have trees so our rooftop satellite worked. Very warm during our stay and AC muffled the road and train noise. Cable is available. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Wisconsin Dells so we took an upper Dells tour and rode The Original Ducks on the lower Dells. Another day we visited Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesen which was very interesting. Nearby Pilot gas station and truck wash which looks like it could take an RV.

Overall Rating:

I visited Oakdale KOA in early October. The fall color line was passing south over the area: the trees varied from a tired green to a brilliant golden to a sleepy brown. The park provided the outdoor campground feel common to KOAs, rather than the ambience of a resort. Since that is what I prefer (even if I spend most of my time indoors at the computer), I find that KOAs suit my fancy, despite the resort-loving critics, and this was no exception. The park was spacious and uncluttered, with mature trees that provided a nice balance of sun and shade. The lanes were big enough to navigate easily, but the gravel site was barely wide and long enough for my truck and trailer. There is not much in the way of activities to do or sights to see in the vicinity. This is a place for people who manage their own lives. Should I return to this part of Wisconsin, I would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
