Aug 2018 - $50.00
They will nickle and dime you to death - $5 and $10 at a time. Their web site implies they charge extra for electricity for their monthly rate only, inferring that electric is included for nightly and weekly rates. They put us on a non-sewer site. Charged us sewer site rates with free weekly pump out. Then only pumped out about 1/2 or less of our gray water (verified by shower backing up after only 2 low water usage showers), and tried to charge us $15 pump out on top of it. This nonsense is on top of already high rates, which they get away with because they are the only game in town. As it is on a river it gets extra soggy when it rains. Don't forget mosquito repellent. Try another park. - Sabrown9001
Jun 2014 - $45.00
We paid $42/night, which was reflected in the weekly rate. The park is primarily occupied by seasonals who are here for the access to the Fox River Basin. There is a boat ramp for those with boats. We were in a 40' motor home that requires 13' overhead clearance. The staff had to hold up low slung wires and trim tree branches for us, which they did willingly. Mosquitoes were horrible and prevented us from being outdoors. The sewer system is gray water only and is marginal for that. Pumping service for black tanks is available one time per week. The site we had reserved and paid for in advance was given to a seasonal who arrived ahead of us. You may lose your site if they get a better deal. That being said, we had a long, solid gravel, level site that accommodated our rig, our towed vehicle, and our motorcycle. This park met our needs for a week visiting family in the area. - Biker2

Camped in the section called Fox Grove. The sites are level and spacious. We camp here whenever we travel to Chicago. The park is approximately 8-10 miles from shopping and groceries. - Poe Dog
Jul 2018 - $25.00
Rules, rules, rules with a side of rules. This park has more rules than any other we have stayed including Yellowstone. We arrived just after 10pm due to an issue with a flat tire. We had communicated along the way that we would be cutting it close due to the issue. This is the first rule we had to deal with (No arrivals past 10pm). We were greeted by a surly gentlemen who promptly informed me that my wife could go into the office to check us in but I needed to pull my 40ft 5th wheel back around because I was too far to the left. He said I needed to u-turn around the office, exit the park and come back in. Never mind the fact that there was a policeman doing paperwork in the right lane which I didn't want to box in. I refused to move and the man's wife eventually told me that I would be ok where I was. It took my wife 20 mins to check in largely due to the presentation of the rules of the park. There are some 24-27 rules that you need to acknowledge. Pulling in, the sites were tight and getting my rig in was a chore. The sites were not well taken care of either. The grass was long and the above ground fire pit was full of ash/burnt wood and trash. No water hookups and only 30 amp service. The park itself doesn't offer much in terms of activities and would be more aptly named chain-o-swamps as water access is minimal due to the marshy wetland area in which the park resides. Bring ample bug spray or you may need a transfusion when you get home. Pit toilets in the campground. Shower facilities were a hike. - Ben Keethler
Jul 2018 - $27.00
Stayed here while visiting Chicago. People in the check-in building were very friendly. Showers were clean, but the type of shower heads and water pressure was awful. They shower head was too high, so you barely got any water on you unless you are very tall. Also its the annoying push button type. The mosquitos were HORRIBLE!!!! We could not even sit outside. Each night before going to bed we had to kill mosquitos inside our camper. Approx. 10-20.I know the campground is surrounded by water, but surely they could could fog/spray throughout the campground occasionally. Also did not like the gritty stuff on the site.It rained while we were there and it was hard to keep from tracking it in the camper. We will not he returning here. - Gary Stanton

Sep 2015 - $52.00
This park has the highest cost for what you get as any I have ever stayed at. There is no sewer or water. Electric site was 42$ plus a 10$ vehicle fee. Staff was OK and park is OK but way over priced. - bwl
Aug 2015 - $19.00
We had to pay an additional $30 for a Wisconsin park entry pass. We stayed in the Sunrise Campground on the east side of the park, in the 200 loop. We were impressed by the size, spacing, and privacy of the sites here, which is the main driver for our high (8) rating. Most sites have a thick stand of trees and shrubs between them for nearly complete privacy, yet have plenty of grassy area left over for camping. There were a couple areas along the road where scraping against low-hanging branches was unavoidable. We also had to back up our 37' motorhome all the way to the wood blocks at the end of our site in order to fit our car in front. We did spot a few sites that should support longer RVs. In almost all cases the camping area was behind the site rather than next to it---picture a lollipop where the stick is where you park your RV. Usually we don't prefer this arrangement, but it worked out well for us here. Our site #223 was close enough to one of the water spigots that we were able to refill our fresh tank halfway through our stay using three hoses (75'). The spigots inside the campground aren't threaded so a water bandit or other adapter is needed. The campground host (Randy) was very friendly and helpful. The showers were pretty old, run-down, full of bugs, and the water was lukewarm at best. After our first shower we decided to just take navy showers inside the RV for the rest of our stay. There are miles of trails in the park, though we ended up turning around early due to mosquitos during our attempt at walking the trail. AT&T and Verizon both worked well. We would stay here again. - LifeRebooted
May 2015 - $17.00
Bong has two campgrounds: Sunrise, which is relatively near the entrance on 142, and Sunset, which is all the way across the park on the western end. Only Sunrise has electric sites. We camped in Sunrise campground in site #224 two different weekends in May 2015.
The sites all have gravel pads upon which you must park. Each site also has a fire ring with a very nice grill grate and a picnic table. The sites have some small trees and shrubs between then but mostly Sunrise is open, grassy sites other than a small strip in sites 145-150. There is not much privacy when you are on your site. We had friends on adjacent sites 222 and 223. 223 has the least amount of privacy of the three. All 3 are maybe a three minute walk to the bathrooms with flush toilets and showers. The ladies restroom had a lot of vandalism in the stalls that the park had clearly tried to cover/remove several times. The restroom floors are terrazzo and were wet and slick both weekends we were there. Shower pressure was OK but not overwhelming. The water is warm but temperature is not adjustable.
We had to deal with rangers because my MIL has difficulty walking and uses a golf cart. We called in advance of going to the park and were told the cart was OK. Once we arrived, one ranger woke up my inlaws to tell them not to use it and then later told us his boss had said to wait for us to use it and issue $300 ticket. No where in its campground rules does it say golf carts are not allowed but don't bring one even if you are disabled. - We_love_truck_camping

Jul 2019 - $55.00
We had a pull through site my on grass which when it rained in turn into mud. We rented 2 sites both sites were extremely unlevel and barely fit my 40ft 5th wheel and the other site my cousin had hardly fit their 38ft 5th wheel. I've never seen an RV park charge for showers but they do someone said it's 25 cent for 2 minutes. The beach was nasty the water was green you couldn't even see your hand barely under the surface of the water. It look like something an alligator would live in. - BeckySue1961
Aug 2016 - $45.00
The site was not good. We expected a better looking environment and updated equipment for how much we paid plus the place looked all booked up, meaning they are making good money here. They do not put any of the money back into the campground. It is a dump. We got a 30 amp premium site $45. Nothing premium about it, not even full hookup. No concrete slab. Weeds were everywhere. Bugs were everywhere. One couple left because the tiny stinging bees were so bad.
We did like walking by the animals. The animals looked good except the duck area and peacock area was very dirty and poorly kept. The fun zone is an additional $20/weekend per child. A can of pop was $1.35. We got two cookie ice creams and a generic bumper sticker for $10! The playgrounds weren't playgrounds, it was an old swing set, an old merry go round, etc., in the middle of a weed/mud filled area. The playgrounds were untouchable due to dirt and many had broken pieces and splinters.
The lake/beach was a swamp. The beach area is very tiny with dirty mud type sand. There are weeds everywhere. The pool is very small and cloudy. I cannot believe the price at this place. I really wanted to like this place. - Yellow Submarine
Aug 2015 - $45.00
This was our 3rd and last visit to this park. The staff is very rude and less then helpful, the camp host was even worse, very mean vulgar man. We requested a site we have stayed on twice before only to have them move us to the no motorcycles allowed part of the park, we told them we had a motorcycle and asked for the site we requested, they told us they were saving it for a group of people who were camping together and wanted adjoining sites who had yet to arrive. We were instead told to park it by security and walk the 1/2 mile down a very steep hill and back up a very steep hill to our site. Being handicapped I cannot walk this distance yet they refused to put us on a site where motorcycles were allowed and if we didn't want to do that then we could leave. They do not have any handicap parking or accessibilities in many aspects of the park. There is a fee to everything you do here. Showers are 25¢ extra, facilities are dirty. $48 camping fee which is 50 amp and water, NO Sewer is for 2 adults ($12.50 per night per person extra) and 4 children under 18 ($2.50 per night per child) and 2 vehicles, the one your driving and what your towing is considered 2, $5 per day per vehicle, day guests are $5 per day. They offer a bouncy play area for kids, also $20 each person for the weekend with limited hours and open from 3-7 on Friday and from 11-7 on Saturday. The pool was so dirty we preferred to swim in pond for free. If staying in this area check out Bong Rec area instead and have an enjoyable experience vs staying here. Site was a steep uphill slope. - rob4mepls

Jun 2019 - $33.00
We arrived here on a Tuesday, reservation in hand and there was no one around to check us in. We went in and out a number of times and Wednesday evening finally encountered staff who charged us an additional $11/day for our vehicle. That makes this park as pricey as a KOA which has full utilities and more services. The beach is a long way from the campsites and very small. There's been a lot of rain so perhaps the beach is bigger during a drier period. - redpen49
Sep 2018 - $30.00
This campground is fairly quiet, located near Lake Geneva, making it a great place to stay if you plan on checking out the local shops and restaurants. The "beach" part of the park is a good distance from the camp sites, about 1 1/2 miles. The beach is also very small, and about 10 people can make it feel very crowded. The campsites themselves are nice, but in need of a little TLC. Our fire pit looked like it had seen its best days about 20 years ago and I am not sure I would want to actually cook anything on the grate. Other than that the trees were cleared back from the spots and most of the sites weren't too bad for leveling. There are some sites where leveling could be a challenge. We didn't have any trouble in our 24' motorhome, but larger trailers and motorhomes might have some trouble getting into a few of the sites as the roads are narrow and some of the sites are also fairly narrow. Only about half of the sites have electrical hook ups.The only water I saw was at the bathrooms or near the camp host sites. The center of the campground has a nice shower house that is clean and well kept. The water is on a timer so you have to keep pressing the button, but it is free to use, so no big deal there. - Bogie71
Aug 2017 - $33.00
While the staff was friendly and showers and bathrooms were clean, the campground itself is very tight. We have a 27' TT and it was very tight navigating the turns. There was another fender bender when we were there, its very tight, while some of the lots are very deep they are very narrow and hard to back into. I did not see any water hook ups, our site did have electric but not all of them do. There were a lot of tent campers which this park I think is designed for. The playground is a pretty good walk but is very nice. There is a beach but I would be very leery about taking kids as it is right on a main road through town. - thegermans

Completely disagree with the reviews. This is an overrated campground. TL gives this a 5 and 6. That is a low rating for them and they got it right. The manager is horrible. Would love to talk personally to the owner to tell him how his manager is running this park into the ground. It could be a really nice GC with better management. Will not be back and would not recommend you use this camp. - Barber1998

Nice quiet little campground. Campground managers were friendly. Clean and trimmed. Great trails for hiking and walking the dogs. Good water and power. Just a little tricky for long trailers. Will go back again. - Gr8daggett
Jul 2013 - $30.00
Wonderful CG. Lack of sewer at each site could become a pain during long stays. However. the greatest thing about this CG is that most everyone followed the rules and were courtious. When quite hours began the place went quiet. Even those who were hanging out and drinking kept it quiet. There is a nice pool and play ground for kids. We liked the multitude of trails to walk the dog. The grounds were very well kept. I would not hesitate to visit again. - Goodcruisin

The staff person was great booking my trip and getting me settled. Office was closed when I arrived, I called her, and she helped me get to my spot. I would stay there again. It is a mobile home park with several RV sites. It’s clean and I had a full hookup. - Tim from Indiana

Our go to spot when we visit relatives in the area - the sites are a bit not level but this is the only full hookup campsite in the area with 50 amp service - the ground are well kept. - rr2254545

There are a few RV/trailer sites in this community of older manufactured homes (some in a pretty bad state of repair). Overall a quiet, well maintained site very close to Lake Geneva. Amenities were clean. Sites mostly mix grass/gravel, most required some serious leveling action on the trailer. Fellow travelers were very friendly. We experienced EXCELLENT WiFi (the best experienced in a few years traveling)... good enough to stream Netflix HD with no buffering etc. Overall a good location. We plan on returning next year. - kjb1520

Stayed for 2 weeks in a full hookup site near the pool area. Site was small and mostly gravel. They do not clean the sites in between campers as I had to spend the first 15 mins picking up cigarettes butts and shoveling ash from where the previous campers had moved the fire ring. Picnic table was bent and we had to put torn up boxes under the legs to level it. Staff mowed on/off everyday blowing grass on campers and anything left out in your site. Rained one day and everything flooded. Pool and lake have ridiculous rules and require everyone to get out for 10 mins at the top of every hour. This is fine for kids but for adults? No food or drinks (except for bottled water) in the pool area - even though the pavilion area near the pool is filled with garbage. No water balls except for 'soakers' which are heavier when soaked and would hurt more if taken to the head! Lifeguard at the pool wore sweatpants and was covered in a blanket looking hungover. Not sure how she'd save anyone?! Beach area is small but nice - but having to get out every hour is ridiculous. Lifeguards are constantly blowing their whistle and yelling at people but allow kids to splash each other violently and throw sand. One day my wife and kids couldn't stay at the beach because they had 3 bus loads of kids from an outside day camp and they ran around like animals unsupervised. Overall okay experience but needs improvements. - Thinkr2
Jul 2017 - $43.00
As others have mentioned, this has a very charming, mid century feel to it. The lake is a wonderful amenity. The staff was helpful and friendly. The majority of the campground is taken up with park models, seasonals and rentals. The overnight section is small. We have a 43 foot motorhome and jeep tow and found this place to be very challenging. To say it is big rig friendly is just not accurate. Low hanging branches at entrance had the tv antennae spinning and the vents and AC units scraping. The check in area across from the lake was very congested. Kids running everywhere and no great place to queue. Found out later that the campground beach and beach amenities are open to the public, for a fee, and not exclusive to the registered guests. After registering, you need to loop back to where you started to find your site. Tight, narrow roads. No good place to unhook your toad, or hook back up. Our back in site was just long enough for the rig, the toad went sideways in the street. The site was uphill, too steep to have the leveling jacks do any good. The right rear jack sunk eight inches into the gravel base. The water connection is located on the site behind you, which you share. No chance for satellite, not even using the portable. No cable. Over the air channels were 8 lousy stations and Fox, and with all of them the picture tiled badly. The only saving grace was the Internet, which was excellent. The charm wore off with a visit to the restroom. They are old, and not in a good way. Mosquito infested. Tried to take a shower but gave up after five bites. Ingress and egress off of busy Highway 12 is a challenge. - VegasVagabonds
Jul 2017 - $45.00
Exceptional well maintained park located near a large metro area. The park is clean, all utilities function well and there is a very large dog park. As mentioned in other reviews, there are many park model trailers but they are very well kept. With lots of features including an 80 acker lake, this is an ideal park to kick back or visit the Chicagoland area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The restrooms and showers, although older style, are very clean. Stay here again? Yes, definitely! - OldeJohn

We arrived after a big weekend on a Monday. There is very little signage but our phone called was answered promptly. The campground was full of trash that should have been picked up. The flies were numerous. In additional the bathrooms were just trashed. Full of dirt discarded personal items etc. we requested that the bathrooms be cleaned. They were on Thursday. Since this is a water electric only park, clean bathrooms are just a necessity. The response to our request on Monday was "well we just had a big weekend". I was paying the same price as those who found the bathrooms clean when they arrived. Finally the trash was cleared on Wednesday and the bathrooms on Thursday. But the women's bathroom was never cleaned just policed for trash. This is just ridiculous. I don't plan to stay at this park ever. I would prefer a Walmart because I know the bathrooms are clean. I try to use local parks and particularly like fairgrounds as they are affordable and convenient to cities. But I won't ever patronize this park. It is pretty clear that they are uninterested in maintaining a clean environment for campers. To be honest I cannot believe anyone gave this park a 10 rating. Even after it was cleaned I would still rate it as a 5 maybe. You share power with six sites. If you arrive late make sure you have a long extension cord. Two dump stations are available but when we left there were probably 100 trailers preparing to leave luckily we got out early or we might have waited a couple of hours. - Golfer33585
