13 RV Parks near Watertown, Wisconsin
May 2017 - $75.00
This is our favorite Wisconsin campground! We enjoy the atmosphere and the convenience of having so much to do. The pool/waterpark is clean, and well kept. As a mom of two little ones, I appreciate the lifeguard staff, and the fact that the pool area and beach are right next to each other. The mini golf, frisbee golf, and pedal bikes are all rented with a deposit that you get back upon returning the items - this is a nice feature being able to do these things for free. This campground allows you to have one RV and one tent per site, which has been nice for having others camp with us. There are fun activities planned on the weekends - and our kids enjoy the activity center, jump pillow and playgrounds. This is a friendly, fun campground. We have stayed 4 times, and plan to keep going back! Helpful note: it can be noisy late - especially on bigger weekends, like Memorial Day weekend when they have a live band play. This didn't affect us that much with being in our travel trailer, but we had friends staying on our site in a tent, and it was hard for them to sleep - they were pretty crabby the next day. - GoBigOrGoHome
Jun 2016 - $75.00
We stayed June 24 - June 26 in our 26' travel trailer. $158.26 incl. tax for 2 adults & 3 children aged 7, 17, & 17. We stayed on site #1; friends stayed on site #2. I was NOT a happy camper this visit. - No pun intended. THE BAD: Our site was covered & I mean covered in geese feces. Good thing we have dogs & I was able to use their pooper scooper....for a little over AN HOUR! I'd say every 10-12 inches there was a pile. Not even exaggerating! Once our friends arrived we collected quite a bit more for at least another 30-45 minutes each. I'd say together we gathered 8-10 pounds of feces. Again, not making this up. We mentioned something to the office & they said people were coming Saturday morning to clean up. The beach was covered - disgusting! Not even a "sorry for the trouble, can we get you some ice-cream?!" Since we were on site #1 we had seen the maintenance crew arrive Saturday morning. They did one section of the beach area, left, & didn't come back. There was still A LOT left! And they didn't come by our site to clean up, or any others for that matter, just the beach area. They are also using a strobe light system to scare the geese away, but all they did was sit behind our camper. I also think they are being fed because at one point they stayed away from the beach area, but we noticed almost all had their heads down to the ground. At this site we also had a lot of campers walking through our site. Unfortunately our one dog that we recently adopted got anxious each time someone walked through the site, so we had to take him inside. It would have been nice if people walked around. THE GOOD: The pool was spectacularly clean this time. It was also nice seeing the lifeguards watching for height restrictions on the younger water slide riders. Out of the local campgrounds in WI this is our #2 favorite campground, but our #3 overall. We will be back, I just hope the geese are more under control next time. - Candi and Michael WI
May 2016 - $85.00
Be sure to thoroughly question the site you plan to stay on. Some sites have terribly placed trees if you have a large rig. We have a 42' fifth. Plan your path to your site before leaving the gate, some turns are quite tight.
This is a party campground. So if you are looking for quiet, this is not your place. Our river front site actually was quite nice. But again, ask when you call. Plenty of weekend sites do not have shade, but some have really nice large mature trees.
There is a guarantee you will have golf carts buzzing around all day. All of them playing music quite loud.
No garbage bins are placed around the campground. You must drive all your garbage to a somewhat inconvenient location. Particularly if you typically throw out garbage while hooked up and dumping. This park has 2 dump stations which is nice, but one of them you must pull head on to a building and back out.
The pool and water slides were well kept and maintained. The beach pond had a funky smell, taste(don't ask), and color. The weird turquoise color makes you wonder.
Horseshoe, volleyball, baseball areas all look fairly well maintained. The Frisbee golf course was decent. I'm sure not many people play that. The skate park I was really looking forward to, was nothing more than a cracked up, abandoned tennis court. The actual tennis court didn't look much better. Both of which should be taken off their advertisements. The dunk tank I didn't look for but didn't see either. - Magiccowinuse
Jun 2014 - $40.00
Good CG's are hard to find while traversing Hwy 39 thru Wisconsin. This County fairground is a gem for a quick stay. 14 new FHU sites have been added recently. We were very level right away. Good Verizon and Wi-Fi. Grass approaches could be challenging if it's wet. The office staff was very pleasant while checking us in. A bit pricey but tolerable. Very clean! - retiredgeezer
Apr 2011 - $20.00
Very Clean and nice place to park for a night or two when visiting the area. The sites are level and large. Power and water very good. Dump station on site. We will use again when in the area. - corky506
Aug 2017 - $30.00
It's a county park and taken very well care of. Quick check in and the park was about 90% full. All the sites are open unless you tent it back in the tent area. The sites along the river are all gravel and somewhat level. They area up top has concrete pads which cater to the big rigs and gravel area which looked a little congested. Tons of grass space to roam around. We stayed for two nights and did a little paddling on the river (they rent canoes) other then that not much going on. Not sure I would be back as its close to home and probably would explore someplace else. If passing through for the night or a need to be in the area I would stay again. - Campingwi
Mar 2017 - $22.00
We have stayed at least once or twice a year for years. Each time is for two nights. Very clean, same park host's for several years. We stay on the black top for parking but very large grass area all around you. Spots are very large. This park is surrounded by water, if you have a smaller rig or tent you can camp by the water. Grass is always cut, burning pit is cleaned out after each camper leaves. Must buy firewood in the park if you want a fire. - Rod123
Jul 2016 - $22.00
It would have been nice to have water hook up, guess I am spoiled. The park has all asphalt pad that were level. Great over air tv and cell service. The park was very clean and peacefully. I would stay there again. - rving4fun
Jul 2017 - $35.00
Absolutely the worst experience we've ever encountered in our 8 years of RV travels. Very difficult to find and then the trees along the very steep hills were not trimmed high enough for our motor home. The spot assigned was on a slope so steep that setup was very difficult even for any type of RV. Do not stay in this place if you can find another. - Z & J From NRH Texas
Jul 2017 - $35.00
The sites are way to close together. It gets noisy. There are no activities for children, just one small playground. People tend to walk through your campsite. No one is friendly, even when we tried to be. - hippiememories
Aug 2014 - $35.00
We were having trouble finding a campground. This place was nice and had all services. Staff very friendly. Most sites appear to be full-time or permanently leased for lake home use. WiFi not good, even though we were parked right next to the office. But, to give them credit, they said they were working on bringing in someone to help and were very responsive. We have only a 22 foot RV. Access and parking for a big rig looks very tough. - Legends Of America
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Bathrooms cleaned once a week. Showers, toilets, walls and trash cans needed attention daily. So sad. When using the paid showers they were long and hot but really needed to give attention to the restrooms. Six inches to the next camper. My awning was six inches to the guy next door's roof. - Friarwoooddude
Sep 2016 - $36.00
Family oriented CG with friendly management. Was welcomed as a transient, PPA welcomed ($18 M-Th). Lots for the kids to do. "Weekend" area of the park has no shade, large pull thru style sites. - Todd Fogelberg
Aug 2012 - $30.00
General Description: This is mostly a “destination” RV park used as an escape for nearby city-dwellers. The vast majority of the sites are occupied by permanent or semi-permanent RVs. Many sites are owned outright by individuals. For the most part all sites have water and power only; no sewer hookups. No TV available. Wireless internet at the lodge only. Cell phone reception is spotty. There is a dump station on the way out. RV sites are in an open area, fairly easy to get in/out. The lodge has a restaurant. Pros: Friendly, helpful staff; no problem with my reservations. Water pressure was fine. Always had soap, toilet paper, hand towels or blow-dry in rest rooms. Cons: VERY poor showers. Very cramped stall and dressing area. NO control over hot/cold. Pay showers at 75 cents each (quarters only). My water temps were either scalding hot or near cold (same session). No warning when time was ready to end, but there was plenty of water. Very poor lighting (bulbs burned out). Restroom stalls very tight. Restrooms not regularly cleaned. RV pads are gravel; you can get level side/side, but way off front/back. A lot of driving on county back roads to get to park. AC power always below the 110-volt minimum. Swimming pool requires showers before using – but at 75 cents per shower, no one we saw did this. So most everyone using pool did not shower first. Over all, with the exception of the pool and playground, this park was not very well maintained, and showed its age. Final Word: We will never stay here again! - Seabeck Stan
Jun 2018 - $55.00
This CG is geared for kids...not adults. Our grands had a blast! We did too just by watching them. There is a train that takes you to Little Amerricka Amusement park. CG has a huge pond that is 12 feet deep in the middle. Lots of giant water floats for the kids to play on. A huge shopping cart comes thru and takes kids for a ride! Sites are large and level. We went with daughter and had our doors facing each other and there was plenty of room. Hope to go back next year. This is a brand new CG just opened in May 2018. - PMS123
Jun 2017 - $34.00
No laundry on site, payment quoted on phone was then expected to be cash, more if by card. No late arrival allowed, no attempt to accommodate needs of camping arrival. Reservationist did not speak clear English. Steep, gravel entry drive: watch out for deer. Rained and concerned branches could have hit RV. Trees untrimmed.
No trash cans throughout park. Only 1 dumpster which is marked for food only specific type of trash. You're told to take your trash out with you.
Poorly lit indoor pool with no life guard. No pool safety items. Pay showers, which were not the cleanest. Grounds are not well maintained, grass looks like rarely mowed. Lots of mosquitos. Gravel roads. Picnic tables were old. I will never stay here again or recommend. - Jane77
Jun 2017 - $34.00
We have been camping at The Playful Goose for 3 years and have always found the owners to be very accommodating. We have our favorite site and found it by taking our time reviewing the website map and dates that accommodate our trips.
The sites are large, not on top of each other. The grounds and parking pads are maintained well including regular cleaning of the fire pits. The beautiful marsh setting is peaceful and fun for all with a park nearby. Paddle boats, canoes, etc are available for rent at the campground. The indoor pool is great for both kids and adults. The restrooms and showers are clean and if there is anything you need the owners are there to assist.
Thank you! - RCKK
Jun 2017 - $39.00
Excellent campground for Kayaking .. we had a fantastic time camping and kayaking this past weekend. We are looking forward to our next visit. Campsite good size - port a potty clean - fire wood good price 4x4 $40. - DebbieLamb
Aug 2018 - $24.00
Very nice park, still a bit hard to find, needs better signage. Park has been upgraded and has 30/50 amp power, at least ours did. Well kept and the camp hosts and crew were great. Stayed 4 nights while visiting family. Our site was the park handicap site, asphalt, but a bit unlevel. Other sites up the hill were closer together and looked like level dirt/grass/gravel. Free dump station for registered campers. Would stay again. - Nevada Nick
Sep 2012 - $18.00
An out of the way park, signage to it not very good, but otherwise a pleasant surprise. Hiking trails have a view of the Horicon Marsh which is a must place to go to. Only down side is the 20 amp sites. Would stop here again without a doubt. - stetwood
Jul 2012 - $18.00
We absolutely love this campground. The sites we had were nicely wooded and the play area was across the camp road. We had our family reunion here and the facilities were very nice and well kept. The bathrooms and showers were very clean, caretakers were very friendly and made sure guests were following rules. The trails are intriguing and show off beautiful scenery. We have stayed here 3 times and will continue to return. - cfamrace49
Jul 2018 - $45.00
Beautiful extra large sites. Pond to go fishing and no license required. Nice walking trails and the pool was clean and refreshing. The service from the owners was exceptional. They worked with us to make sure our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. There are some amenities that are very reasonably priced, like wifi and dumping. All in all we had a great time. - coco6547
Jul 2018 - $45.00
This park really caters to seasonal permanents with weekend get away sites, but it is a clean, quiet and roomy park with great walking paths, a pretty fishing and swimming pond, a nice pool, convenient store, and laundry. It is about 3 miles outside Palmyra and 30 minutes from Waukesha. Everything you want a quiet country park to be. No sewer, but a pump out service and a dump station. - Bruce and Janette
Oct 2018 - $35.00
The campground itself is nice enough and reasonably maintained. I wanted to give this site a better review, but the bad water you get from this park's service area is absolutely terrible. If you don't want to make your whole RV smell like the dogs have a major gastrointestinal issue, then either get your water elsewhere or make sure you filter it before it goes in your tank. We avoided showers and held our noses every time we turned on the spigots. It rained continuously while we were here, so we didn't get much outdoor time, but looks to be a nice area for hiking. Get your water somewhere else besides in the park. This water has a sulfuric smell and is outright disgusting to use. Smells like the dogs have a gas problem. Going to drain and bleach my tanks when we get home. Yuck. There is a waste dump station with flushing water. - Wildboar Dan
Jul 2018 - $28.00
We camp here one week a month all summer long. Private campsites spread out and many are spacious. Some road noise in the early evening. One of our favorite state parks. Swimming beach, canoe on the lake, fishing dock, and best of all, a dog beach. Hiking trails and a large picnic area for day use. This is not an RV park. - dblanch57
Nov 2015 - $17.00
Ottawa Lake - We have camped here several times over the last few years, and with the exception of our first time at this Campground, it has been very pleasant. Staff at the park are attentive, and keep areas clean. Showers/bathrooms are kept clean and well stocked. Laundry facilities are available which is connected to the bathrooms, for a fee. Rangers are strict and make sure you are supposed to be where your supposed to be. Very family friendly, which they have a nice play area for children, and boat launch, and I'm to assume, a fishing dock. Very scenic areas, with some sites right along the cliff edge of the lake. Campsites are very spacious and airy with privacy. They have a newer Handicapped Cabin, so the less fortunate can enjoy the great outdoors. Some walking trails, with markers about nature along the way. Scenic drive through the Kettle Moraine States Forest. There are 3 different campgrounds within the Kettle Moraine Park, (Pinewoods, Ottawa Lake and Hickory Woods) and we always stay at Ottowa, and will continue to stay here in years to come. - SerenityFix
