Oct 2017 - $10.00
We were looking for a place to stay in the general area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in mid-October in our 25 foot MH. There are 6 CGs at the Alcova Reservoir. We stayed at Black Beach, the first CG on the east side of the reservoir, off County Road 407/Kortes Road. There are 10-12 defined, unnumbered sites on 2 loops. Most are spacious providing privacy and beautiful views of the reservoir. The sites are dirt, surrounded by desert shrubs/bushes. Some are level while others need some leveling. There's not much shade, however, there are picnic shelters at most of the sites. There are trash containers and rest rooms. There's no water. The roads into and around the park are dirt. One section of the road appeared to have rutted deeply after rain/snow, yet was easy to navigate when dry. There's no WiFi. ATT and Verizon cell coverage was good. We had a quiet stay. - dsvt
May 2015 - $10.00
Primitive campsites on the East side of Alcova Reservoir is accessed via Co Rd 407; paved, but narrow with 1-lane bridge over river (the Dam road is closed). Black Beach access road isn't gravel or maintained; dry now, but it had been very muddy. Several sites would accommodate our 60', but road and sites aren't switch-backed nor tiered down to lake, so most sites are very unlevel, and more clouds threatened. We are 40' plus dingy, thus used our better judgment. Simple site and road prep would make this primitive CG a premier camp for Natrona County as well as fisherman's paradise. We did not venture the couple of miles further South on 407 to Cottonwood Creek primitive CG. - evadu
Jul 2017 - $175.00
I stayed in the Reef fly Shop cottages for one week without the cabin being cleaned once. Internet service was available but never worked. We were expected to dump all trash before leaving or incur a $50.00 dollar charge. If I am paying $175.00 a night I would expect these things to be done for me. The fishing was great but my fishing guide talked like a truck driver using horrible language every chance he could. I believe you could get better service from the other four locations in Alcova WY. - fishingusa123
Oct 2016 - $35.00
On east side on corner of Hwy 220 & Grey Reef Rd in Alcova WY (about 30 miles from Casper) is a new place, level sites, FHU $35., just elec. $25. A quiet place no hwy noise, has about 12 RV sites, a few cabins & bait shop. Nice place for over night or even a few days. It's across from N. Platte River & close to Alcova Lake. We stayed here Oct. 3, 2016 for 2 nights. No WIFI or cable, our verizon phones did work ok. Not a busy place at this time of yr but I bet it is in summer with lake nearby. We found this place by accident were looking for another place; thought this was it, since there was no sign with name, turned in decided to stay. Would stay here again if in area. - 2GermanAmericans
Jul 2019 - $5.00
This is a BLM with no amenities. If you like dry camping in a beautiful environment, you will like this. There are pull-through and back in sites. There are only about 6 RV sites. Most are alongside the North Platte River. The road in is about 2 miles, Gray Reef Road, and it has potholes but is doable even for larger rigs. The road is off Wyoming Highway 220 about 30 mikes south of Casper. - Lula1943
