Convenient to the highway; some noise but tolerable. No trees, so sunny and at times windy. Fishing a river was close, fishing lakes required driving but there were many to chose from - mostly dirt road access. The office person was friendly and accommodating. The WiFi was not good, but that was more a location problem than the park being willing to have enough we learned. Verizon worked okay for small tasks, but was similar when it came to streaming. Hookups were convenient; water very soft. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pinedale is 10 miles away with lots of restaurants and a big grocery store plus. Make time to visit the Museum of the Mountain Man if you can - excellent displays. Cowboy Country Distillery is amazing, but expensive - you get what you pay for! Burger Barn was a favorite lunch stop. The restaurant at the Boulder Store is very good also.

Run by a young couple who are very nice, but not in the park much. The park houses men working in the oil fields. The water quality was good as was the electric. They have a bathhouse and a very nice laundry, exercise room (double wide). They have pull-throughs and back-ins with picnic tables. They have a nice playground for kids. The park is a bit run down but they just hired an on site manager who is working on getting the park in shape. They offer WiFi, but there is no cable and we got about 5 OTA stations. The people who own the shepherd mentioned in previous reviews have been told to tie it up. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Next biggest town is Pinedale, 11 miles north where they have everything you need, from groceries to restaurants. We stayed here because we wanted to visit Grand Teton National Park. It took 2 hours to drive there, but considering the campground did not cost anything, it was worth the drive.

Since manager works full time elsewhere, office is left open for checking in yourself. While on site, she was friendly and helpful. Many long term residents; most with fairly clean units. Lots of trash blown over the ground, plus dog poop. Cacti growing in some of the grassy areas, so watch where you walk. A German shepherd that runs the park is friendly with people, but not with little dogs. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Nothing in Boulder but a C-Store; closest next town was 12 miles; 2 hr drive to Jackson and Tetons.

For the price this is a great campground. Otherwise it is average. 50 amp, water, sewer, free wifi. The wifi is good. The water pressure is low. Large sites and easy to maneuver big rigs in.

It is a large gravel area with sites. No trees to speak of. No grass at all. The restrooms are ok, but there are no showers and no laundry. No clubhouse in spite of the listing (the managers now live in it).

There is road noise from 191, but not too bad. There are good restaurants in Pinedale, and Lake Fremont is lovely. Pinedale is trying to become another Jackson, and they mights succeed.

When we were here there were four permanent rigs with plywood skirting, but they were well kept. There were only one or two transients at any time so the park was 80% empty. Very quiet and lots of space between rigs.

One of the permanent residents lets his German Shepherd run loose. It barked at me once and wasn't a real problem.

The managers have day jobs so the office is vacant most of the time. You just pick a site and try to track them down when they come home. They were friendly.

Like I said, for the Resort Parks International price of $9 it was a deal. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Freemont Lake and do the skyline drive. Don't bother with the Mountain Man Museum; it is overpriced and not well set up. The museum seems arranged randomly and items are not properly labeled or explained.

I was early for my Yellowstone National Park reservations so I decided to stay at Wind River RV Park. This is a no frills campground. I used my RPI membership to stay here. The campground is between managers at this time August 2015. I called the number on the office building and found a campsite. Friendly campers told me the owner will get back to me and eventually she did. Our at&t wifi hotspot didn't work here. The at&t cell phone service was good. The campground has a washer and dryer area. An osprey nest is located near the entrance of the park. This is a small campground. I found the campers friendly. We met a nice couple here. I saw a few permanent residences. There is a German Shepard that walks around the park unleashed but he didn't bother our Yorkshire terrier or us. I was busy exploring the area. I would stay here again. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The area has opportunities to see wildlife. We drove to the CCC Ponds and spotted a Red-naped Sapsucker. We saw many Prong horn Antelope while driving the back roads in the area.

Some sites have broken water hookups, most overgrown with grass, and dog feces in the back up sites. If we weren't traveling in a group, I don't think we would have felt safe here. It's definitely in the middle of nowhere and has zero frills. With that said, we did see some bunnies, elk, and owls. The bathrooms were also very clean and a 24 hour laundromat onsite was just what we needed for our one night stay. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a no-frills campground with easy access. All the pull-through sites with 50 amp service are next to the highway, which makes it a bit noisy. However, most of those are occupied by permanent residents and are very unsightly. They let their dogs run loose and don’t clean up after them, so walking can be a hazard. There appeared to be no maintenance done in the campground. The weeds were high around each site like the grass had not been mowed all summer. The only good thing about this campground is that it was free as a Coast To Coast park. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The highway borders the park making it very easy to access but noisy. Interior roads and sites are gravel and easily navigated. There is no shade, many permanent residents, side by side hookups on the pull-throughs, and good basic utilities. Establishing a connection to the WiFi was very slow, but worked adequately after that. AT&T phone service was good, but data service was very poor in the area. The appearance was scruffy and unkempt with weedy grass and dog feces so thickly sprinkled about as to make walking from door to vehicle difficult. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

First off, Boulder is hardly a town but it is only about 10 miles from Pinedale which has a few services. The rate reflects Coast to Coast membership. The views of snow still in the mountains is incredible in July. The opposite direction overlooks a winding river and quiet little ranch. Many of the sites have picnic tables but they are unusable due to really tall weeds. This was our biggest disappointment. We did not expect a beautiful lawn, but they could have knocked down the weeds at each site. My husband could not wait to get out after dark to view the stars as there is no light pollution here. He was not out very long before I heard him yell and come barreling in the door. It seems a coyote was just a little curious as to what he was doing out there. Scared the daylights out of my poor husband. This is still the wild west, you know. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our 3rd time here and probably won't be our last. It is a no frills CG which suits us perfectly, quiet, not crowded, and in a beautiful area. The drive into the Wind River Range and around Lake Freemont from Pinedale is fantastic as is the Mountain Man Museum in Pinedale. A very nice young couple now run the park and they are extremely nice and helpful. Many C2C and RPI parks close out anyone but members on holidays. We have stayed here over July 4th and Memorial day with no problem. We will definitely stay here again. Fee reflects RPI rate. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects AOR rate per night. We were very disappointed in this park. Dry, rocky dirt and lots of wind. There is not much to make one want to stay. It's too windy to fish, sit outside or put out the awning. We planned to stay 10 days but stayed 2 days and decided to move on. The camp hosts were wonderful accommodating, friendly people. The showers and restrooms were clean, but there is a lack of hot water. The laundry facility was nice. Groceries were seven miles away in Pinedale but not a problem. We would not stay here again. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Motorhome.

We moved to this park from Highline only so we could get internet and Verizon service - the wifi was good and solid and phone reception was good. The park is nice enough, very friendly park host, bathrooms clean but no hot water in the shower (lukewarm). Dog friendly - there were a couple dogs running around but we didn't have problems with them. Overall a decent park, nothing fancy and nothing really wrong, we stayed a few days. There's a neighbor that does dog boarding and sells farm fresh eggs. We'd stay here again for a reasonable priced park w/ wifi outside of Jackson. We camped at Wind River View Campground in a Motorhome.
